Really really really fun to build.
Perhaps you have sticky dust?
I keep my gamma ray emitter under my pillow. I wouldn't mind having the ability to lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster sometimes...
That vehicle is the McLaren F1 LM.
It was torture since I couldn`t afford to get all! How can I leave reduced Lego behind....?! In the end I got the Batman movie ultimate batmobile, Jestros mobile base, Jungle temple (for my son), Duplo Pizza (for the baby/wife), some mighty micro sets, Jays fire mech and the Elves evil castle (x3 for parts). Wow, so after reducing the spending it still amounted to quite a lot!!!!!
Alarming to say the least...
@stlux yeah much too far.
It started out with getting an extra Winter train set in the sales to throw them both together and make one big train.
Within five minutes of finishing this, I decided it didn't look good enough, so set about pulling it apart to build something I was happy with.
This of course meant digging around to find parts, which of course I had, but not in the colours I wanted.
This meant repeated trips to Bricklink to get the relevant parts because no one had everything I wanted followed by repeated building and tearing down and more visits to Bricklink which hopefully after tomorrow will have ended as I think I now have ordered all the parts I need (famous last words).
Now all this might seem normal to a lot of forum members but......
I don't actually like trains that much and have no real interest in having a train set up at all.
I just want the blooming Christmas Train to look like a train and not a fairground kiddies train...
Is that really to much for a perfectly sane individual to ask ??
(As a side note, I've actually quite enjoyed doing this, I just cannot believe I've spent so much time on building something that as soon as I've finished will be put away until next Christmas)
:)
Well, we always get a large snowfall in February so why not? :o)
Plus you can always get them out at the end of July when Christmas starts every year to be extra prepared with your layout :D
So really there's only 4 months of the year when you might need to give 'em a summer makeover. Even then, why not say, well it's winter in Australia, or something? :D
Its dropped in price quite a bit, and I am a fan of the Adam West era Batman.
Just have to figure out how to justify it with my wife. (might not be to difficult, she likes Lego too)
Hooted some sets to get 4 of them. Refer to the what are you buying thread if you wanna know what sets I've bought :)
...sorted.
And now my sons want to take out all the drawers and build. But, BUT...it looks so pretty and SORTED!
Hope to get a third next month once the new ideas set is on sale.
Got to build up a stash of cool promotions for Secret Santa!
.... a couple of hours later and it was complete....
....we headed home after lunch having trimmed it up a bit. It still needs a bit more filing of the brim to allow a nice square fitting. I've added some 2x2 tiles to hold to hold the ajoining track pieces in place....
....we built a basic figure 8 track to test it out and it works really well, with no derailing. As I say, some more filling of the joints to get the brim off completely is needed, but so happy with it.
Now feeling that maybe I want some of the new JW sets that will be out in a couple of months.... Maybe I could do a minidoll/Dino mash up moc??
I didn't realise they came on a special baseplate! Very happy :) especially like Jor-El. Cool printing on his outfit.
Actually, Mermaid Batman is one of my favorites from the set. Is it completely unnecessary and illogical? Absolutely. Does the fantastic bat-fishtail and seashell bra make me giggle every time I see it? You bet your bottom dollar it does.
I don't think there's any other figure in ANY of the TLBM sets or CMFs that illustrates just the perfect level of how absurd LEGO Batman can be than Mermaid LEGO Batman.
Had more LEGO than usual out in the hallway - felt the need to tell Mom that the pile wasn't getting any larger, I was just rearranging it to get at my bed to change the sheets.
As for the sturdiness of LEGO shelving (sorry @JudgeChuck ) - my problem is space. Sometimes I put models on top of a too tall or otherwise precarious pile of stuff. And as for @SumoLego using himself as a test, Sumo is in his name for a reason. ;)
Is that a new VIP set? Or is that the same Lego store set they released earlier.
I've just been watching Gravity while building the Women of Nasa set. Usually don't watch anything while I build but thought this would be a good combination.
Gave me an idea for a cool shot too, which i'm adding to my 'a build a day keeps the doctor away' photo diary, not a day this month has gone by that I've not build.
