^^^the app is your friend. Not only can you scan in store, but it will show nearby prices too at other stores.
I would use Brickseek. Yes, it takes a bit longer to enter those numbers and the stock number is usually off by a few, but the price has always been right and it shows a much larger radius than the Wal-Mart app. It has given me a heads up on deals many times in the past.

So, I stopped by that Walmart yesterday to see about the remaining architecture sets.. talked with them, but they said they haven’t been marked down yet. Decided to stop by another Walmart on my way home, and I’m glad I did. I got a ton of sets for 75% off:

    6x #70906 (TLBM joker car) $11
    2x #60160 (jungle mobile lab) $15
    1x #10745 (cars junior) $11
    2x #41237 (DC SH girls) $11
    17x #41231 (DC SH girls) $7
    7x #41144 (Disney) $2.5
    3x #41143 (Disney) $1.5
    2x #41321 (friends) $4

40 sets in total from that store. My buggy was filled to the brim haha

I went and grabbed some lunch, and there was a Walmart across the street from where I ate- decided to stop in there as well. Found a few nice deals:

    2x #70915 (TLBM two face demolition) $15
    2x #70902 (TLBM catwoman cycle) $2
    1x #21125 (Minecraft tree house) $15
    1x #60135 (police) $1.5

Within 24 hrs, I ended up with nearly $2000 worth of LEGO for under $500. Very happy!

The app has been pretty useless for me because of this.

75% off such as those $60 sets for $15 is a steal for parts, but I understand passing if you hate the set and don't have a BL store like I do.

Saw the app advertise a bunch of rollbacks/clearance in general, figured I'd take a look - nothing in the LEGO section, just a couple $5 BrickHeadz in the clearance aisle. Yet I hit the jackpot with a rack near the end of the clearance aisle. Dozens of $2.50 BrickHeadz, 2 #30478 Santa poly $2 (sticker peeled off cleanly), a #41143 with $3 sticker (OK) that scanned at $1 (great!). Some superhero BrickHeadz were scanning at $5 but had $2.50 stickers, cashier was allowed to put in the lower price. App was useful for price scanning, didn't use it to check availability.

I often find myself at Walmarts that aren’t necessarily on the way home :)

Wow....some of you finding great deals lately.  Checked a few WMs and found some decent deals, but held out since I plan on picking up several of the $125-plus sets to get the free 60-years brick sets.
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
This store was only slightly out of my way, might go further afield in the next day or two.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
Started to find the $2.50 BrickHeadz too. Only Black Widow and Salazar though. The rest were still $5. Picked up a few for parts.

Also got my first Elves set—#41188 for $17–which will also be used for parts. May be the first set I don’t even build per the instructions first. Nothing against the theme, it’s just not my thing.

And finally got suckered in by Iron Man yet again. #76048 for $9. I couldn’t leave the last Scuba Iron Man on the shelves by himself, could I?

Exactly. I was on hold collectively for almost 45 minutes while three different people tried to help me.

Try calling with the UPC or SKU number and the person at the store can look it up on their computer. Might take a few tries for them to type in the right number, but your odds of getting useful information will increase.

I tried to give the SKU to the lady and she said she can't look that number up. She finally had to call someone on a walkie-talkie to physically look for the set. No idea if customer service is who answered the phone.

Walmart: Um... we don't have that.

Now I remember why I never call Walmart.
At least the WM associate didn't say, "Destiny 2 Bounty? For PS4 or XBox 1?"

Just went to another Walmart (my fifth in the past few days) and found 15 Brickheadz for $2.5 apiece. I’ve found multiple sets for at least 75% off in every one I’ve visited... it’s crazy, I never get deals like this. I’ll have to take it easy for a bit, running low on funds after all this ;)

I'm laughing at the idea of calling about clearance inventory. 1) the associates probably have no clue 2) they've probably already been called multiple times 3) if it is there and is a screaming good deal, you risk tipping them off to the deal and just lying and telling you it's not there. I rely on the ineptitude and or oversight of employees to find deals. The best ones are when they don't realize it's even on clearance and haven't marked it out the shelf at all.

I just bought 7 Brickheadz at the Shakopee store for $2.50 each. That’s all I could find.

Found all of the following Brickheadz at $2.50:
Black Widow, Salazar, Capt Jack, Belle, Beast, Batgirl.

Struck out at a 2nd WalMart - not surprised since at the 1st one someone right after me took the few BrickHeadz I didn't. I still feel good trying ASAP, and with good weather and my bike running well, I didn't mind the ride.

@Yodalicious @ecmo47 Black Widow, Salazar, Capt Jack, Belle, Beast, Batgirl were what I found. Iron Man and Robin were the ones that scanned at $5 but had $2.50 stickers. Hulk and Captain America I left behind.

Having been to the Netherlands I can honestly say you're better off where you are. Just find someone state-side to ship you the LEGO deals.

I can only say I'm way more broke after these last clearance sales than before... my favorite buy might be #75189 at $74. We'll see what this year brings us.

This is legitimate; I'm just not sure if it will be online or in-store only. My guess is in-store purchase.

I'm guessing online only. I could be very wrong, but that's my prediction. At least for the $5.65 combo.

Online would be nice if there is a limit. A few more sand base plates with some free bricks thrown in would be great.

Yeah, it appears to be online only from what I’ve seen. That’s pretty crazy though.. I’ll definitely try to snag a few if possible. Wonder what their limit will be.

Would they go in stock at exactly midnight? I haven’t seen anything other than the three dates.

Saw that (my genuine thanks for the reply) but wonder if any stores would match/honor the deal?

    Saw it on this website-

    http://www.thecouponingcouple.com/lego-60th-anniversary-bundle/

It's not an official statement from Walmart or anything but I would be shocked if they had it in store.

Unless they ship a ton of the baseplates new to stores it will be online only.. pretty much every store clearanced it the tan baseplates this last go round.

I’m not sure if it’s everywhere, but in my area at least, Walmarts stopped price matching...their website, other stores, printed ads, anything. They stopped it all a few months back.

Wow! And I thought their Thanksgiving week deals were great

    The article @Hanzo linked says 3rd, 7th and 11th - the WalMart LEGO page says 1st, 5th and 9th.
Looking further, 3/7/11 are the dates for the $5.65 bundle - that would be an okay deal for the baseplate (so @BillyBricks84 saying baseplate with free bricks makes sense), a steal for #10702, amazing together
1/5/9 are release dates for retro sets - #4000028 House on the 1st, #4000029 Windmill on the 5th, #4000030 Truck on the 9th

#10715 looks like an ordinary brick assortment at a normal price except for the free booklet and old pictures on the box. The booklet requires a separate redemption step with photo of receipt, I wonder how that's too be done for online purchases. Either way, I might pass.

@Yodalicious the store near me discontinued price matching months ago as well.

It just seems like a disaster waiting to happen if it's in-store.  When do employees put them out for sale...midnight?  How or Are they going to limit the purchases?  We all know from past experiences.....WM stores/managers are run like the wild, Wild West sometimes.

The 10715 Anniversary set is showing as online only/ship to store at all my locations.  I like the box art and some of the wheels look like the older style wheels, but otherwise it doesnt seem to be a great value.  Still want it though, just because....

I thought the same thing: late and a (seemingly) very random time. I'm interested to see if it's consistent with the two limited edition set releases next week.
