I was told by a Walmart employee that all stores are getting rid of their price scanners located around the store....that now all employees are going to care the little hand-held devices like Target. Great... now I have to hunt down an employee so that they can call someone else over to figure out the hand-held. Just when you thought Walmart couldn't get any cheaper

Nice! I looked for that at 2 Wal-Marts around here that said they had marked down the ship to $79, but no luck at either. I've had my eye in Destiny's Boutny ever since it came out, and I would snatch it up at half off in a heartbeat!

Get the Wal-Mart app on your phone. 99 times out of 100 it will give you the in-store price. Every now and again it will say 'please see an associate for help', but it works almost all the time and has been saving me from running all over the store for a few years now.

Every now and then I encounter boxes like that. If I really want the set, I'll take it to a customer service rep and open it in front of them while explaining that my situation. If the set is complete and untampered, I go,ahead and buy it. But if it was messed with, I tell the rep that someone is scamming their store.

Nice grab @Yodalicious! I had the chance right after Destiny's Bounty was released to get it for $90. I passed and have been kicking myself ever since. I'll have to start my Wal-Mart loop now to see if I can track one down at that price!

The Heavy Assault Walkers finally went to $109 (in store price) in my area according to both Brickseek AND the Walmart.com site, so I went into the store to get one... and they weren't marked down. Figured since their own site said 'blah blah price in your local store!' I would take it up and see if they would match it. The app didn't match, but they were able to bring up the website on their own phones and saw it also, so they matched it... Now I just have to wait for the SD to go on a decent sale and I'll be done with TLJ first wave sets...

I found yesterday that when you scan with the app and it says please see an associate, when you scan it again in a minute it's in the app with the price. It's almost like the first scan activates it. Ymmv

I found $74 heavy walkers and $79 star destroyers. Not optimistic about getting the bounty for $79, but I got one for $104 from true while back so I can't complain. Especially since I managed to get an ultimate batmobile from Walmart for $45 :)

Picked up #31063 for $13 today. They had a couple Joker Lowriders for $21 but I bought that set when it first came out and the boxes were pretty well crushed. Still a great price on a fun set.

^Yeah, I'm definitely in agreement. I try to avoid Brickseek whenever possible as it makes me go crazy!

I realized I was searching the wrong SKU. I found a store with 3 of them too far out of my reach, but next door to a buddy of mine. Looks like he'll be able to swing by and check for me this evening. Fingers crossed! The last 5 times Brickseek showed stock on sale, I never found it in person.

The good news is the store by my buddy seems to have a LOT of sale items. I may have found the anomaly in my geographical region and can bug my friend to shop on my behalf. We go way back, so I figure I have at least a few weeks worth of annoying him before he cuts me out of his life forever, right?

I agree. The phantom stock is the worst, especially on a set I want!
I'm calling a 4th Wal-Mart now about Destiny's Bounty and having them check before driving around for 3 hours looking.

If they let you get a better than stated deal, fine. The wording just gives them an option to disallow it IMHO. But I am not a lawyer

Went to my local store this morning looking for three #75156 Krennic's Shuttle supposedly in stock for $19 and came up empty handed.Curse you phantom Brickseek stock!
When I got home I returned to Brickseek & noticed some #75189 were marked down to $74 but it was quite a drive and I'd never been there before,decided to give it a shot.I finally found my way there after a long drive and proceeded to the Lego aisle which was pretty much bare.
I did the "walk around the entire toy section 4 times" thing hoping I'd spot them.Coming up empty once again I decided to ask an employee since Walmart App said they were in stock & in the bare aisle.
They got on their Walkie Talkie I was then sent to the Garden section and there they were,a large stack of crisp Assault Walker's.
It costs nothing,but it surely pays to ask.

The Walmart near me, in Orangevale (outside Sacramento CA) had 75172 Y wings (list 60) on clearance for 25, Minecraft crafting boxes for $30, and a few other sets, all half off. They are locked up in a case and not marked for clearance, but the tag underneath them has a clearance price, so, if anyone is in the area, some great deals.

HA! Exactly how I feel ... The thrill of the "find" keeps me going, sometimes even for sets that I don't have a primary interest in!

Using Brickseek, I found a #75189 for $74. It took almost the entire duration of my lunch break to run to the store and get it, but it's worth it.

I need to move to VA. My stores apparently just don't do clearance. FO SDs still at full price, and they have 17 of them in stock. Heavy Walkers just went on sale for 109, and they still have 14 of them in stock... ;_;

Brickseek got me out looking for two #75189 Heavy Walkers about 20 miles away, but no sign of any.

However, after 4 Walmarts, I did manage to find:

Most of the above at Eden Prairie. The only ones I cleaned out were #31063 and #76044.
