Can I wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas! Yesterday was too busy and today was too tired! Built a couple of sets with my son, and tomorrow will be my turn, hopefully. You guys will know if I post a picture or two!

@ Recce my mom who keeps saying I need to get rid of inventory doesn't like the LEGO buying sprees either. Speaking of which...

    January 2018 catalog arrived
#10260 Downtown Diner is too big and expensive for subject matter I'm not interested in, though I may have considered a smaller version. I first thought this with Old Fishing Store
The Building Bigger Thinking sets look like a great deal for the piececount and some simple minifigures, good variant of the classic brick boxes, not in a rush to get any but may easily add some to an order.
None of the other new sets pictured stand out to me, and not just because of price.

I am very very jealous @Speedman29. Can I come and live at yours?

@bookmum you can have the sofabed if you like or theres a double bed in the Camper on the drive!

The houses were made by Elf on the shelf, who delivered a new numbered one each day of advent.

Built a couple of sets over the last two days with my youngest:

Green Lantern is probably feeling rather left out of the Spiderman (Spider-Mans? Spider-Men?) Shenanigans - wrong universe, my son said.

@Speedman29 - cheeky beggar! I'll have you know that this is a carefully arranged "pile-o-pressies" and that the position of each follows a choreographed 'order of play' for 2 of my gang and myself over the coming couple of weeks! Or at least that's what I told my better half when she noticed the mess. I think she's humouring me because it's Christmas, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth!

Also, I thought about the background 'noise' when I took the photo, but presumed that some forum members might like to guess at other presents they might be able to spot... :-)

I do like the new torso prints on the 2018 Friends sets, but will wait for deals rather than buy whole sets

Finally got thought to the Cologne-Lego Store to make a reservation for the Diner #10260.
Called about 60 times the last 2 days.
Going to get it on Wednesday, as a birthday gift to myself on my GFs BD. ;)

Just building some sets from my backlog at the moment and decided to build both #60154 side by side.

    Spot the difference:

I did read on here that the printed newspaper 2x2 tile with the tree on the cover was being replaced with the firefighter rescuing the cat. The #10259 Winter Village Station I bought had the latter piece in the set and the former in the instructions but I didn't know Lego had changed over during the span of one set.

I actually built this yesterday, but, since I failed to build a Bugatti Type 35 today, I’m leaving this here. This is my attempt at a Saleen S7.

My son just built BB-8 today. I have to say, he is just awesome. I love the head movement, and the tool release. Quite the awesome set, and will really add to his display of Lego robots.

The rear wing felt too wide with the 1x8 tiles, so I used 1x6 tiles.

Finally watched the Ninjago Movie and enjoyed it very much! Even more than the Batman Movie, in fact.

I need to watch it again. My “like” order was the release order...TLM, TLBM, TLNM...but I’ve only seen TLNM once, so it may grow on me.

Yeah, after watching it I don't get a lot of the hate for it.  It was a pretty good movie, and certain parts of it were downright hilarious.  I don't think it had the tons of inside jokes I was seeing it get panned for either.  The only thing weaker than TLBM was the IP's popularity itself, I feel like.  And I guess TLBM and TLNM definitely are different kinds of movies, so if you went in expecting the same pacing/storytelling/etc to TLBM then you would be disappointed.  But if you could put that aside, it was a good movie.

    I haven't seen a '2018 resolutions' thread so apologies if I'm miss-posting;

I am in desperate need of a storage solution for my instruction manuals. I've filled a chest of drawers and a couple box files with the hundreds of booklets I've acquired. I really ought to look into this

@snowhitie - I do have a LIFO system! That Helicarrier is from when it was first released. You should see what is under/behind it...
