Well, just got a cancellation email. What a bunch of crap.
Weird. I'm guessing you ordered yours at least an hour before me, but mine hasn't been cancelled. Not yet, at least.
  • spepperspepper Member Posts: 157
Mine has been canceled as well. Aaaarrrgghhh!
  • GremerGremer Member Posts: 183
And cancelled. Thank you TRU, now I don't want to shop at your site anymore.

It would have been better to have a limit of one or two per order. Limit of 5 was a little much. I think that allowed them to oversell it

Picked up a #70681 Destiny's Bounty at TRU yesterday (21 Dec) for 127.71 (Tax included). It was on sale for $131.99 (20% off their marked up price of $165.00) and it was 10% off Thursday.

In the past I used my TRU credit card often to accumulate Rewards points. When they suddenly ended LEGO purchases with those points without telling us in advance, my dislike for TRU multiplied to a rant level...at which I rant to anyone who will listen just how awful that store is.

I went in today to spend a few Reward points on non-LEGO before cancelling my credit card, and found some fantastic Twistables Crayons by Crayola marked at 1.99 instead of 8.99 for a package of 24 (which cost 4.49 at Target.) I insisted that the Manager sell them for that price, and AMAZINGLY, he did! All without my hreatening him with bodily harm or a lawsuit.

SO at least I got to use three $5.00 rewards certs and basically received five boxes of the crayons for free along with a couple of very cute polybags, especially the creative chameleon #30477 and the hot rod #30354.

Almost nothing was on sale in the LEGO area. Three days after Christmas??? Screw TRU. And they did not want to price match anyone for the other three LEGO sets I wanted to buy, so I passed. Their prices are just too high for my blood or pocketbook.

IMO TRU has been awful since they stopped BOGO50 and B2G1F's for LEGO sets many years ago..

You can use reward points on LEGO again. Have been able to for a month or two. I guess enough people got pissed that it forced tru to reconsider.

The last two reward certificates I got did not have the LEGO restriction; I used them to purchase #70618 Destiny’s Bounty last week.

I used my last certificate to buy the bounty too. Combined with discounted gift cards and points got it for $104 out the door.

The certificate I received last week has the restriction! However I will check it again since I don't need any more Dimensions.

Yeah, I had a fiver certificate that I used, with eBates, to buy a Bounty because ,stunningly, TRU had a pretty good price on it.

TRU has an additional 20% off some clearance items. Chima, Ultra Agents, Angry Birds, and Lego Batman movie alarm clocks for $12. Angry Birds pirate ship is $47.

It is amazing how 20% off just does not seem like a lot to me anymore with LEGO, even at RRP. Specifically, 20% off the new creator and city sets does not seem like a good deal anymore. I guess maybe I was spoiled by the wealth of 30-40% off LEGO sets from last year.

Seen at TRU. I thought these were only available at Target.

I found #75525 Baze Malbus for $4.98 yesterday. Locally it's still on clearance for $12.48 at Target - no wonder they aren't selling!

So I pop into a store tonight to see about spending my rewards dollars. I find five #30474 Reindeer on a rack that scan for three cents each. I pull a couple other items and take them with all five polybags to customer service to pay. She scans a polybag and pauses. I'm thinking oh here we go. She says these are three cents each we aren't supposed to sell these. I play stupid. They're how much? She says three cents. She does something on the register and pushes them to me. She says she is giving them to me because she can't sell them. I pay for the rest of my stuff and leave. I would have been happy to pay for them.
Yep. Had that happen to me in Sunnyvale.
When they are that small in cost, they're supposed to be gifted/donated according to the CS person that assisted me.
I got a small set that way.

It pays to scan, especially the older sets.

This same store has actually charged me before for three cent and one cent polybags.

Was able to grab a #40298 and 14 of TLBM Series 2 @ 2/$5 with the paypal babies r us gift card deal from last month. Not a bad day.

Non-Lego related side note: the 50 cent skylanders seem to have run their course, shelves empty. Not a bad run considering they lasted about 6 weeks and new ones kept getting put out there.

In my area they gave it out for free with no purchase! :)

^ They just gave DJ out to people for the heck of it? I’ve found some great deals in my time, but never “here’s something entirely free.”

Sales tag says 2 for $5.
But Series 2 should be excluded, but some people have been able to get it for that price.
  • elspankdogelspankdog Member Posts: 403
Series 2 also scanned 2 for $5 this week for me
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
Nice.  Do we know when the sale goes til?  Tonight or tomorrow?
  • InfinitymanInfinityman Member Posts: 126
The sign I saw at TRU this week said 2 for $5 goes until February 8!
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
Anyone else see this sale going til Feb 8?

No signs at my local store about a sale.
But since I want a few duplicates, I might stop by this weekend and ask.

^The store closest to me has about 3 full boxes worth of TLBM Series 1 and Ninjago Movie, with a hanging rack covered in them too. I'm wondering if these will go below 2 for $5 any time.
  • ReesesPiecesReesesPieces Member Posts: 1,120
Those of you in northern va, there is a clearance toysrus next to the regular store that has the entire store half off.  Legowise they have the batman clayface set for $15 (have about 30 of them), superhero girls batwing for $10, and couple brickheads for $4 and couple other sets.  Not great but if you were looking for any of that stuff.

Darn, my local store is closing. Guess I'll have to switch to Target for all of my purchases.
