Christmas Day Brickset Bonus... Bonusball - Santa Claus Edition

SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,241
Aloha, fellow Bricksetters.  This is a special pseudo-incognito version of the Bonusball...

The first twenty five (25) unique posts get a number from a random number generator.  I'm not sure if there is a UK Lottery drawing today, so I'm not going to chance it.

Up for grabs is another Christmas themed prize... maybe bigger than the last, maybe not.

Given that I'm in the midst of a three-day Christmas Extravaganza, what's the best unexpected gift you received?  And it doesn't have to be one from this Holiday Season, but mine is.  (Thank you, Cathy!)

Good luck everyone!

Too many to choose from due to all the great gifts I've received over the years,  but the best one I got this year was definitely the #75190 First Order Star Destroyer! Can't wait to build it!!!

A porg funko pop, they'd all sold out locally so getting one today was great!

Ok well 'best' is debatable, but my sister and brother-in-law sent me a Whataburger employee polo shirt to Bulgaria this year. I laughed a lot so that is what counts I guess?

Mine was this year as well as an unexpected parcel was received from the wonderful @snowhitie.
It was one of the most surprising and thoughtful gifts I have received that not only contained a gift for me but a present for my wife as well (and chocolate minifigures). It made my day when I received it, was a lovely surprise when I opened it and I will enjoy every minute of building it.

Another from this year. After Little Miss Speedman open the cargo train there was a smaller box behind it......with a tag to me on it....from Santa. I have the Christmas train and the power functions to go with it so we don't have to share trains!

Some nice ramen bowls. Properly sized bowls for soba noodles had been on my wish list for a while. Apparently my brother had some proper ramen for the first time in his life last week, so he finally knew what I was on about, and recognised them in the shop!

It is hard to put my finger on the best but I know for sure that one of the top gifts that I have received was actually a pair of socks. I had seen them before in a souvenir boutique store and thought they were the coolest socks in the world. They were a bit expensive there so I didn’t buy them but I guess I continued to talk about them for quite a bit after. Last Christmas a friend was able to track down the socks and gave them to me as a gift. These socks were not only crazy in design but also has the phrase on it, “Carpe the f*** out of this diem.” I now go out of my way to wear these socks if I attend some large event, if I’m about to do a large presentation, or really just any random day that works and just love them as they are a reminder to really make the absolute most out of each day. Small gift but certainly one with a great impact.

A beautiful pair of diamond earrings hidden in a pair of cozy slippers. I don't usually wear jewelry but I wore them all the time for years until I lost one.

I don't know if this is the best unexpected gift I've ever gotten, but it's fresh in my mind. This year my brother gave me this awesome toy story t-shirt with the pizza planet aliens coming out of a pocket. I didn't take a picture and I'm at a Christmas party, so you guys will just have to imagine what it looked like. Suffice to say it is awesome.

One time my parents went to Disneyland by themselves and they brought me back packets of parmesan cheese and Tabasco sauce from one of the restaurants.

Again, 'best' is a very subjective matter, but the one that I've probably got the most use out of in recent times was a Thrustmaster T300 steering wheel for my PS4. Some considerable hours have been put into F1 2016/17 since!

Few years ago my parents got me a 3DS because they’d seen an online conversation between me & my brother talking about them. One of those surreal technology moments

One of my best unexpected gifts was when I had manflu a few weeks ago - a bag containing lemsip, Vick's vaporub, paracetamol, maltesers, Taylor Swift CD and lots of tissues.

I'll stick with this Christmas as it's so fresh in my mind. This morning I opened a tiny parcel that was given to me by Mr and Mrs @bandit778 when we met at Bluewater in November.

It was out the blue, totally unxpected, I'd never have guessed (as it didn't have the tell-tale rattle I'm accustomed to), but it was a custom printed minifig bearing my avatar on it with a background print of my Hover Scout Ideas Project:-)

Pics to come when I have good light tomorrow.

I was dumbstruck and beaming ear to ear. Still not sure what I've done to deserve it.

A pair of bespoke oak display shelves, totally unexpected but exactly what I (didn't know I) wanted.
    Merry Christmas :-)

The big box under the tree that I hadn't touched before today was actually for me. My whole family chipped in for a new Xbox One and some games. I was only expecting socks and slippers and would actually have been happy with just those!

No one panic though, there were socks under the tree too and Star Wars slippers.

Oh and tickets to Flight of the Conchords. All in all, this has been a fantastic Christmas for presents.

I hope it featured Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20. Would've been the smoothest gift ever.
