    Thanks @CapnRex101 for confirming that.
It's a great film by the way, for those of you who haven't seen it yet! :)

Can anyone tell me were the heck the #75177 First Order Heavy Scout Walker appears in the The Last Jedi movie? I've watched the movie twice now and still haven't spotted it!
It's in the same scene as the First Order Snowspeeder from Episode VII.

Now technically that did appear in the film, and the half finished cut scene was an extra on the Blu-ray...

I'm seeing TLJ this afternoon and I'm glad the Heavy Scout Walker isn't going to make an appearance - the LEGO set looks terrible!

Probably already been said, but there are some pretty darn good minifigs in these 2018 sets.

How is that cantina set £45! Glad I don't buy system scale sets any more. I'll stick to UCS.

In Belgium €59,99 while in Germany € 49,99, so here also 20% difference for that cantina between two countries just next to eachother. :-/

So how about this set!?!  #75204  Sandspeeder
I thought it would be a set from the latest SW instalment ep.8
I saw The Last Jedi last night (and BTW I really enjoyed it!), but I did not see this modified T-47 speeder in it either (just like #75177). This set isn't released in Europe yet (1/1/2018). It is in North America, so on brickset it is now labelled as a SW 2017 set. Anyway I have no idea if this set is even from the new film or perhaps that console game 'Battlefront I/II'?!
Given that it also includes a moisture vaporator I really am at a loss as to which scene on what planet from that galaxy far far away this set is supposed to be a rendition of? Tatooine or Jakku perhaps? Galen Erso had vaporators on his farm on Lah'mu too, indicating that vaporators are devices in the SW universe that are used not only in arid climates. Or is it from that +/- 40 minutes of footage Rian Johnson had to cut out in the editing room for ep.8?!

    It's a Kenner invention from 1984...

    Wooot!?!
Kenner produced created an orange snow sand speeder?!  Seems to be the same colour as the Kenner Bespin Twin Pod Cloud Car.

Had several 2018 sets in my cart tonight at Toys R Us, but I couldn't pull the trigger at full price.  I mean, I like them....but I'm going to wait for deals, their pricing is bananas this wave.

I was hoping it was just the big sets for the first TLJ wave, since the Resistance Bomber especially was pretty insanely priced... but it looks like are continuing the trend :\

Was a looking forward to the new cantina, but $70 (AUD) for what looks like a $45 set is ridiculous

So far for me the best 2018 TLJ set is the #75201 First Order AT-ST, those that have seen the film will appreciate what’s going on, and the minifigure selection is quite unique..
  • LobotLobot UKMember Posts: 939

I watched TLJ last night, and it's a vast improvement on Episode VII!  It has an interesting storyline, with a few twists, and there's a good amount of humour.

I'm surprised to say that the Porgs are brilliant - I'd expected them to be the equivalent of Ewoks, but they really added to it.  TLG did a good job of converting the main elements of the film into sets, but there's still lots of material that could be tapped into.

No not yet, I tend to wait for the discount on non UCS sets,  it’s just my opinion from looking at what’s been released. I’m not worried about the build etc. just what the concept is, and what’s included, including the rebels in first order uniform.. unique..

Why on earth would anyone want to purchase three quarters of an AT-ST? At least you can probably still pick up the Rogue One AT-STs.

That At-st is a sad sad set. GNAJBRICKS review sums up my thoughts quite nicely.

I think the First Order AT-ST is WAY too misunderstood. Not all sets are designed with AFOLs in mind. How could they be? I really think this set is made for younger kids. I think if I were 7 again I would think weaponizing the cutest most unassuming droid would be awesome. Giving BB-8 legs and guns is in reality a mech suit for him.  That's how I saw it in the movie, and that's how I see this set.  I get that collector's want the figures and not the AT-ST....but really LEGO just got many of us to pay $800 bucks for the Falcon. They figure if you want the minifigs in this set you will pay $32 on sale.
Jang's over the top review on this is unbalanced, and does the set a disservice. Buy it for your kids, I bet they will love it. Just my 2 cents.

All they had to do was a rip away action feature for the top and all would be forgiven, they got lazy imo.

And it's not too hard to understand either if you ask me. It's a play set that recreates a scene from the film. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want a full AT-ST then this isn't the set four you.

I am inclined to agree with JANGBRiCKS where #75201 First Order AT-ST is concerned. It is a play set and recreates the subject scene somewhat effectively but the play value is very limited in my opinion, not least because the articulation of the legs is so poor. I would rather the lift had been left out and the armoured section of the head included in its place, perhaps with an exploding feature.

The set became even less appealing for me when I saw its UK retail price of £54.99 in Toys R Us this evening! Of course, Toys R Us sometimes increases the price of sets a little but even £49.99 or £44.99 would seem an awful lot from my point of view.

No, that's the AT-HH (All Terrain Heavy Hauler). The AT-HS doesn't appear in the movie at all. The legs have a similar design though. The Scout Walker is scrapped, but Canon, concept art.

    @Gremer is correct.

the new STTLJ Cross section book shows the AT-HH, which would be a behemoth of a Lego set BTW.

Funny thing is...when I perused the book, it had no picture of #75177, so I bet this vehicle was part of a movie that hit the cutting room floor.

It should mention the AT-HS, which is what 75177 is.  The only actual picture of it comes from the Art of the Last Jedi book.

The First Order AT-ST will either retail for £60 or £70 in Sweden, which is outrageous given the US price of $40 (which is a bit steep in its own right!). The prices of Lego Star Wars sets, especially the medium-sized and bigger ones, has increased enormously over the past year(s). I don't know if I should blame Disney or call the Lego Group a greedy company, but I know for sure that I will quit buying more licensed sets if they keep going up in price when the inflation in Sweden is a mere 1 %.

The Star Wars set are the bulk of my collecting, but I've found myself holding back on them lately.  Most of the time I'm okay buying some of the larger sets in a wave at full price, but the TLJ sets were just all ridiculously priced.  I am really hoping it doesn't flow over into the the other one wave licensed sets like the new Jurassic World or whatever ones.  Not holding my breath though, as the City Jungle sets looked like they might be following the same pricing strategy, especially with concerns to the bigger sets.  (I know some of their high price was due at least in part to pieces like the airplane fronts, but even then they were expensive...)

Just focusing now on the fact we are getting another Cantina.  Doesn’t seem particularly unique except for the new style Han and the Wuher bartender fig.  Surprised they wouldn’t have included some Cantina denizens.  Maybe there is a battle pack coming or something.

I find the box art amusing - Han and Greedo both shooting first... poorly.

When do you think we'll get a crispy-cranium Greedo?

the first order AT-ST has got to be the biggest joke. it's 65€. 10 more than the rogue one AT-ST. making the general grievous set looks like a good value in comparison is quite an achievement too.

  • FauchFauch FranceMember Posts: 2,282
but then they would have to sell it for like 100€.
overall, I think it's the worst star wars wave in years, poor sets and overpriced, but at least that means I may save money.

A bunch of new Star Wars set titles have leaked and are listed in the database, plus photos Now out on other websites. New Han Solo sets include the new Falcon and a new TIE Fighter. New X-Wing to go along with Yoda’s Hut. A new sand crawler is also listed (I assume it is System scale?).  And the Cloud City rumors continue to build. This could be a very good year...

The UCS AT-ST originally retailed for $79.99. It's difficult to reconcile the prices for what you get.  Half an AT-ST isn't interesting to me!
