I of course drug my feet too long in the snowglobe and missed out.

    Someday I'll learn...
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
You also roll the dice that the promo is not available for sale after its end. At this point, I think the Snowglobe is more an exception than a rule.
The Brick Fan is now reporting that the #30609 gift with purchase TLNM Lloyd minifigure is now on sale at Target for $2.99.
Yes, and some years ago the Iron Man poly appeared in a TRU later in the year, again exceptions, not the rule. Could that be changing? Maybe, but would need to see far more of these situations than a Lloyd figure and Snowglobe

Reading this "This isn’t a bad thing, unless you’re a reseller..." made me think if Lego is going after Lego resellers in general with mass availability of such store promos following the re-release of the MF and Taj.  I know that Lego store promos have been mass released before but this one had a $50 purchase cap.  Others are usually ones that were given away with a $25-35 limit.
Recent moves suggest that, and I for one am very happy to see it. Re-releasing sets also protects against counterfeit brands.

If you are still looking for a Saturn V, now seems like a good time to get it. In stock on LEGO SAH with a promotion for a free Master Wu keychain, London Bus, Double VIP, and (if you add 5 dollars to your shopping cart), the Iconic VIP set.

Are the keychain, bus and VIP set also available at LEGO stores?
Now I'm tempted to get Saturn V, though I probably shouldn't.
It's not available elsewhere under MSRP, so buying from S@H is relatively more attractive.

thanks for the heads up. Got the Saturn and the birthday cake (10$) in order to get the VIP set too.
Now I`m` considering the Fishing house even though I really shouldn`t.

Old Fishing Store, you mean? Not on my radar because I'm not interested enough in the subject matter for a big set.
I am interested in space exploration, and Saturn V would go well with Women of NASA (which I got elsewhere)

I don't know if these are available in stores, too. I generally don't go to the LEGO store because it is out of my way and the tax there (Cook County in Illinois) is higher than anywhere else around me.

Thanks @rd1899 for the clarification on where the set can be obtained.

The 4 new NIjango Movie sets I wanted are all on backorder now.  Last night when I put them in my cart waiting for double points, two were available.  I ordered anyway.  We had planned on visiting the Topango store today, but with the uncertainty of the fires, I thought it best to order online.  We will have something to look forward to after the holidays :)

Just placed a couple orders myself since I missed out the first time on both freebies.
  • monstblitzmonstblitz Member Posts: 653
Yeah I verified the VIP set was online only after a trip to my local Lego store.  Oh well.  It was still worth the trip.  All Brickheadz except the 2 star wars for $6.99.  Grabbed the few I was missing from series 1.  Take it with a grain of salt but I heard from more than 1 Lego store employee that series 1 won't be around much longer.  Star Wars Advent Calendar was only $28 too.  Kids and I just powered through 8 days.  Good minifigure to crappy build ratio so far.

Lots of other sales too.  Insult on Hoth at $174 if that gets anyone to bite on that atrocity.

Overall, I've been impressed with the sales at the Lego stores lately.  They are getting me out to the stores more often and off of the too often fruitless hunts at Walmarts or Targets.  That coupled with VIP points and the promos have me spending almost all of my Lego budget at the stores or Lego shop online.

Hey, if you were planning on ever getting the set from S@H, I can't think of a better time with all of the extras. Imagine just getting one set by itself in the mail :shudders: You don't want it to be lonely in the box.

I ordered the ninjago city too, I'm pretty positive that the promos ate shipping separately. Mine just shipped with 2 tracking numbers.

Yeah, I was planning to get it anyway, but I hope it is not going to drop in price like the Classic Batcave did.

I dunno, personally I feel like the Batcave was in a different space than the mansion is.  The classic part of it made it less likely to appeal to younger people, and the set itself wasn't a great play set (eg the poor design of the fireman's poles into the basement), so I felt like the demand was kind of cut.  Both of those issues aren't present with Joker Mansion, and it includes some pieces that will probably be in pretty high demand just for themselves (the FaF Minifigs and roller coaster parts).  I mean, sure it will probably go on sale, but I feel like it's unlikely to go on an extended firesale like obviously low demand large sets like Classic Batcave and Assault on Hoth.

I found the supposedly Target exclusive set #41489 at the Lego Store today. Ironically, I then finally saw it at an actual Target store afterwards. Oh well, I'm now up to $80 in VIP dollars toward the Joker Manor next year. Between Christmas shopping, Prime renewal and my annual pharmacy deductible, it just has to wait a bit. Not to mention too many good sales on other sets right now!

My Saturday schedule worked out for a trip to the LEGO Store.
I knew darn well I was going to spend more than $10 for gingerbread man; I wasn't expecting $150, but I could get 2 buses
2 Women of NASA (have 1 in mind for a gift, promos helped make decision to buy extras)
3 What am I @ $19.97 and 2 wedding set @ $4.99 , no more in back, maybe that's it for those. Someone else asked about What am I, I would have passed on 1 if I saw enoguh else to cut form my purchase to get down near $75
PAB wall hadn't changed much, $5 baseplate rings up at full price on refill, hadn't noticed til I checked out, got a damaged box bus out of it
#41233 Lashina Tank $10.49 (best way to top $150)

@megthecat retailer exclusives seem to be also available direct from TLG. #70910 Scarecrow Special Delivery was a WalMart exclusive but I got mine from S@H.

the talk about snowglobe reminds me of debating whether to trade a promo or keep it for myself. had thought of putting #40221 Fountain in my park scene, also the debate whether to buy a regular set on sale or wait for a bigger sale
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
LEGO has been selling exclusives to other retailers in their stores for about 3-6 months now.
Typically when I bring in a cup I still get the base plate for 4.99, they either just make an exception or sometimes they forget to mark the cup as a refill. Getting a promo bus out of it, as well as getting two promos for spending 150, well I will I could go to the store you do. Promos typically are one per customer/ purchase. The store by me stopped giving out multiples a long time ago.
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
^^&^ I hadn't noticed the exclusives were back in the physical Lego Stores again since I ordered most of them from s@h for various promos this year. Has anyone noticed it they are stocking #76056 garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! ? I know I didn't see #72001 which may be another TRU exclusive. Unless there's a good surprise promo I don't anticipate any more purchases direct from Lego until the anniversary set at the end of January.

Saw garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON in a physical LEGO store two days ago, and it is currently backordered at the S@H site.

Got some bricks, #31066 Space Shuttle (to go with Women of NASA), #76081 The Milano, and #41486 Captain Phasma (I needed it to barely get it to over $125) in order to get the bus, the keychain, and the Iconic VIP set...Used some points to pay for it...now, time to build!
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,352
    Saturn V and a $6.39 baseplate
Hopefully that's the last money I spend on LEGO this year (already said that a couple times), but 2x VIP and 2 substantial promo sets is as good a deal as I'm going to get

    @josekalel
I was also thinking of something to go with Women of NASA. 31066 is the kind of set I'd usually get on sale elsewhere, but the promos are so good right now. I thought about a BrickHeadz but decided I still don't like the bulky head.

I was just messing around with the lego shopping cart as I tend to do. I added Assembly square and saw 4 items in my cart. What?! Free London Bus, keychain, VIP set, and double points? It worked on me. $30 worth of free stuff and $25 worth of points talked me into not waiting any more.

Wow, color me impressed with S@H for this last order.  Not only did I receive it super quick (ordered at ~11AM EST on 12/8 and received today), but everything arrived undamaged!  I didn't have high hopes because the box it shipped in was haphazardly taped shut as has been the case with a lot of my S@H orders lately.

I ordered the Saturn V and they shipped it sealed inside its original shipping box and placed that in a much larger box with air bubbles along with the promo items and the bag I purchased to put me over the $125 promo threshold.  I'm sure the Saturn's shipping box helped prevent dents from the Ninjago keychain but even the thin London bus box was unscathed.  If I'm being ultra picky, one corner of the Saturn V box did have a slight dent in it but it's certainly nothing to complain about, given my past experiences.

@KingAlanI I know #31066 has been cheaper elsewhere but I wanted the promo goodies...and at 2X VIP points, I couldn't say no.

I also told myself that I wasn't gonna spend any more money on LEGO...but then I saw #70917 Ultimate Batmobile on sale at Walmart and that was that...

I just received my Saturn V today, shipped in a second box as well.  However none of my promo items or additional purchases were included.  Curious why they shipped yours all together and mine separately.  (Assuming mine was shipped separately and not just forgotten.)  All I ordered were 2 CMF bags to get over the $125 threshold.

^Originally was only sent one.  But when I went to the order page I found a second.  Second package came Smart Post today.  Could have saved themselves money by putting it all in one box, but it all arrived safely so I'm happy.

I understand the saving of money via shipping in one package, but looking at the comments left by members who have contacted Lego re: smashed boxes, it only makes sense they do it this way.

I actually would've preferred them ship the promos separately since it minimizes the chances of the items damaging each other.  In fact, I sent them an e-mail after the fact to see if they could separate them but I didn't get a reply until today, which was obviously too late.
