I'm preparing the next set I'm going to build: The Assembly Square modular. This should keep me busy for the next few days...

I think those are load-bearing boxes, so I'm pretty sure if you remove them, the house will collapse.
I was thinking how high I can stack them. :)

Left them at the lift lobby area outside and all gone by the next day, the cleaner must have cleared them.

This was the 4th or 5th time that I've cleared the empty boxes. More to come when I find space and open more sets in the future. :)

Has anyone tried ordering the bear from 60173 Mountain Arrest? I tried over the phone today without any luck.  Lego CS couldn't find the element number. It's not on the website, and not in the instructions. Very weird. I was however able to order the big cats from the Jungle theme.

Just received my BB-8 and free battlepack from Amazon. And BB-8 is crushed and ripped. So I went to trigger a replacement, just like last time I received a damaged set, and there was only a return option.

So now I have a free #75165 battlepack without having purchased anything. Bizarre. And I guess I'll be able to re-order BB-8 cheaper at some point too.

@omnium, purchase a second, hope it arrives clean and return the first under the second assignment.  Not exactly honest but it drives me crazy how many bashed boxes I receive from them these days.  Seems to be all the time, and when I think I'm being clever in ordering lots of items in one hit, assuming a larger shipping box will be a safer bet, they then go on to separate the single order and ship in multiple smaller boxes which 9 times out of 10 arrived bashed.

@Legoboy, I think I worked out that they only offered me the refund and not replacement option because they're sold out of BB-8's at the moment.

Either way, I get to keep the freebie. This way, it just means that, in a roundabout way, I haven't had to make a purchase to get the gift.

But I will order another when it appears on discount again.

I know what you mean about the bashed boxes becoming more common. This is the 2nd time in a month it's happened and I think it's only happened to be 4 or 5 times in total over the years.

This order was well packed, but looking at the damage, it was definitely done before the box was shipped. There's no way it happened during transit. So they either packed a damaged set, knowing it was damaged, or they damaged it while packing the order.

I suspect it was during packing. The damage looks like the sort of thing that would happen when someone was scrunching up the brown paper they use a padding, leaning on top of the box as the squished it all in.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this type of question, but couldn't necessarily find it in my search efforts. I figured this might be a good place to come.

Is there an easy way to find sellers on BL who offer bulk purchase discounts on certain parts? In my most recent purchase, one of the sellers offered some pretty significant discounts when buying in multiples of 100's or 1000's. I have a few parts that would be nice to have some rather large quantities of, but rarely hit my local PaB wall. The difference between $.02 per part and 100 parts for $.0075 adds up rather quickly!

Admittedly, my BL experience is rather limited, so this might be an easy filter I'm missing?

I just finished Assault on Hoth and the Sandspeeder today. I really like both of them (though that might be because I was Hothless and I like T-47s).

Maybe a scavenger got to them before official refuse/recyclables pickup, if there's another LEGO addict nearby.
I recycled boxes and instructions from my KFOL collection during my dark age. It's hard to store them nicely. Now, I keep instructions but rarely save boxes.

I hope it's the small tree beside the stage with the carolers you're asking about. That's in http://www.brick.ie/forum/2578/ideal-christmas-tree

If it's the large one in the market square, it's just the tree from #10249 Winter Toy Shop.

And thanks @Maniac for providing the link to Miro78's coffee stand too.

@recce I recycle duplicate instructions, should have clarified. they're too heavy and cheap to be worth selling on BL
  • xwingpilotxwingpilot Member Posts: 799
How do you all end up with duplicate instructions? Even buying one to build and one to keep sealed wouldn't mean you end up with duplicates...

@xwingpilot Easy if you buy multiple to build a larger model. E.g. I just bought 2x #41324 Snow Resort Ski Lift so I can have a larger ski lift in my winter village.

Other people buy multiples of sets as part packs.

@Paperballpark must have ended up with at least 11 instructions for #10253 Big Ben when building his Palace of Westminster.

I did indeed! They're in a stack, waiting for the day when the set is retired so that I can flog them on Bricklink :)

Happens to me if I like multiple models in a Creator 3-in-1 set... I'll get two or three copies so I can display them all at once.  I usually keep them so I have a complete set of instructions for each set I have in case I ever sell them, but they definitely bulk my stored instructions binders up enough that when my collection gets bigger I will probably just get rid of them...

I've fixed up 3 copies of the Avengers tower sets, opened 3 sets of the old 4886 Creator 3-in-1 house, 12 Uruk-Hai sets, 5 Imperial troop transport, 2 Pet Shops (3rd opening likely forthcoming), plus many other medium/small Creator sets like 31026, 31012, 31019, 31021, 31023 etc. :)
