I like some of the new elements in the Mountain Police City line (bear, big cat, beehive, tree-man), but I'm not sure if I'll be willing to buy entire large sets just to get these parts. We'll see... So far not much has been announced for 2018 that piques my interest. That's fine. as I've got a stockpile of 2017 boxes that need building, and a City layout in the basement that needs arranging... Maybe LEGO will stop making sets I like for a while so I can catch up :-)
You don't need to buy the sets as you can buy the individual pieces using the Extra Bricks option on the Lego Cpstumer Service Part Replacement section. You just need the parts ID and you could buy them alone.

Thanks - I was thinking of just Bricklinking them, but didn't know that specialized parts (like animal figures) were available on a per piece basis direct from LEGO. I'll check that out and see which is more affordable :-)
    Happy to help.

I'll also try to get more into making MOCs, but that's a long way from here...however, will focus more on getting City and Creator sets and less licensed ones (except Star Wars and whatever is over 50% off), as well as to try to get the rest of the modulars.

    Bring on 2018!!

From what I've seen: 10260 (Diner),  75200 Ahch-To Island Training, and 75196 A-Wing vs. TIE Silencer Microfighters

Yes indeed, the Tron set will make me drop everything and go buy it. You know, last year I was dreaming about Lego making a Thrawn minfig and Tron sets and voila! Lego has made me a happy fan.

I will say that I am glad Grand Admiral Thrash is a minifigure (and cannon) but I hope one day a Chimera Star Destroyer set is made.

I can't decide if this is a veiled reference to the metal band or not. Leaning toward auto-correct but either way good job.

I meant to say Grand Admiral ×Thrawn× and that I hoped he came in a Chimaera SD set.
The Chimaera is the name of Thrawn Star Destroyer and features some wicked print on the bow:

This thread is an excellent time to prioritize my spend.  Wow, here I was hoping I could catch up a bit with desired purchases!  But...

    Creator Expert:
10260 - Downtown Diner: I love this building.  I was hoping I’d be less than thrilled about 2018’s entry so I could go back & pick up PR or BB to go with my DO & AS.  But this one I’ll have to get right away.
10259 - Winter Village Station: A 2017 set, and I’ll likely buy the 2018 one as well.  This purchase will probably slip into 2018.

    Technic:
42078 - Mack Anthem: I’m not a technic guy, but have the arctic men sets from when I was a kid.  I’ve always wanted to dive into a modern technic set to try as an adult, & love big rigs for a model.  Though there have been a couple through the years, I’ve never gotten one.  Now I have to get this one.
42074 - Racing Yacht: A definite maybe.  This was going to be my intro to Technic, as it’s a different type of model and that sail makes it a great display piece.  But then the Mack was announced so this one might have to take a back seat.

    City:
60182 - Pickup & Caravan: I have all the RV’s released with city (& a couple classic town ones as well) so they make up my trailer park in my city when I set it up.  So this one will be a guaranteed purchase.  It might be the only one for city as well, I’m just not seeing a mountain police set I’m into, unlike the old forest police sets.  Was hoping for a cool looking criminal cabin or something.

    Architecture:
21038 - Las Vegas: I love architecture, but not necessarily the skyline sets.  But might have to get Vegas as it’s something different.
21035 - Guggenheim: the only Frank Lloyd Wright set I don’t have, and though it’s a 2017 set now, will have to get it in 2018.

    Other:
70620 - Ninjago City: I have zero Ninjago & thought I had zero interest in the theme.  Then the city was released & now I want it to go with my modulars.  The building is effectively 5 stories tall & would fit in well.
21309 - NASA Saturn Apollo V: I have the feeling I’ll retreat not picking up such a cool set once it’s available again.  Another great display piece, and would be my first ideas set, as most of them aren’t appealing.  I thought I’d get the Fishing Store first, and though I really like it, I think the Apollo would be the one to get.
71040 - Disney Castle: Ok going back to 2016, that’s how far behind I am on purchases!  Yikes!  This one we must own while it’s available.

60181 Forest Tractor got added to the list, it is so cute when I saw it on JangBricks early review.

They are back but in a March wave so official pictures are not out yet. Naida has an aqua sea turtle, Azari has what looks to be a fire lion, can't remember the others but there was a green large creature and I think Aira was on a flying purple something with another elf who seems to be a new character with white hair. Bad faction has a bat themed treehouse with lots of teal. At least it seemed bat themed. It has been a few weeks since I looked and the pics were fuzzy.

My son is 4 and too young to really build these things, but he loves playing with them. I thought he'd love that one as he loves construction and tractors. Looks pretty cool

  • tmorais_pttmorais_pt Member Posts: 3
    In this order:

    Creator Expert 10260: Downtown Diner
    City 60179: Ambulance Helicopter
    City 60181: Forest Tractor
    Creator Expert 10255: Assembly Square

And probably another one or two big sets coming out in 2018!

Note: in 2017 were the Carousel, Ninjago City, Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, Destiny's Bounty, Winter Village Station and catched up with GBFH! Poor wallet!

    21037 - The Lego House
    75192 - Millennium Falcon
????? - New UCS Star Destroyer (if made)
  • M1J0EM1J0E Member Posts: 644
Darn, I forgot about 21037.  True, it might only be available at the House, but that doesn’t stop plenty of copies being available in the secondary market.

Still have a lot to get from 2017 hopefully Santa will help me out with those at Christmas! I'm definitely going to be a lot more selective and patient this year because it always seems you buy one massive set and then bombshell announcements of sets that were kept under wraps come out my poor poor wallet:(
    but definitely:

    the 2018 diner modular
    the creator beach camper
some of the mountain police sets (but they are soooo overpriced as usual)
a couple of the friends sets the big house and the tree house set

I'll exercise restraint for the bigger announcements sure to come!

Based on what I think might come from the Speed Champions line:

#75884 & #75885 : Fiesta RS WRC, Focus RS WRC, 1968 Mustang GT 390 fastback, Model T, Thunderbird, Pinto, Capri, Bronco, Sierra RS Cosworth, Ford Shelby GR-1

    #75886 : Ferrari 308 GTS, 360 Modena or GT, 488 GT3, Enzo, F40, Testarossa, Portofino (although it's a little late for the 70th anniversary)

#75887 : Porsche Mission E concept, RS Spyder, 924 Carrera GTR

    #75888 : Porsche 911 (GT3 RS) & 911 (930 Turbo)
#75889 : Ferrari It's a truck. Or a racing track, maybe? Doubt it. Could be a Pit Lane crew plus garage? And two cars - whatever the latest F1 model is...

I might get a few of these if my guesses are anywhere near close...

Well, according to euro bricks, I might not be far off at all with some of these. The leak is:

    #75884 - 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback
    #75885 - Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC
    #75886 - Ferrari 488 GT3 "Scuderia Corsa"
    #75887 - Porsche 919 Hybrid
    #75888 - Porsche 911 RSR + 911 Turbo
    #75889 - Gerrari Garage 250 GTO, 488 GT

I even got the year right on the mustang, the fiesta wrc, 488 GT3, the Porsche 911s and the Ferrari garage. Not bad for complete guesses!

Nice to see the M-Sport Fiesta from this year. Might have to go on my 2018 wanted list. Does it open the door to some of the Ideas Group B rally cars that have been floating around the net?

Having seen The Last Jedi, Ahch-To Island Training looks like a sweet set for a reasonable price. I'd happily buy Defense on Crait and the First Order Specialists battle pack as well if they weren't priced $110 and $22 respectively in Sweden. Dang it Lego, your pricing policy gets worse every year!

The rule changes for F1 2017 make it VERY difficult [mostly the angled rear wing] for Lego to really do designs that can really match those used on the cars (either that or the car makers need to give TLG the approvals first, but I suspect it would be a bit of both...)

Either way a very very nice Speed Champions lineup for 2018.

I have some sets remaining on my list to pick up from this year and before (mainly the Old Fishing Store and Parisian Restaurant), but I'd love to pick up some 2018 sets. My main choices that I might get:
    • Blue baseplates!
    • Ahch-To Island Training: Cute little scene, great minifigures, reasonable price.
    • Tatooine Battle Pack: Some very nice minifigs.
    • Speed Force Pursuit (I'm a big fan of the Flash, so I have to pick this one up!)
    • Some Lego Batman CMFs: I don't really like the series as a whole, but I'll be certainly trying to find a Jor-El, Black Canary, and maybe some extras for making custom characters.
    • Ship-in-a-bottle will hopefully be lovely, in which case I'll be interested in that.
I may also eventually get the Creator Mythical Creatures set, because I think that just looks like a lot of fun.

For now, the only things that are on my 'definitely buying' list are:
    • #10260 Modular Diner
    • #31079 Sunshine Surfer Van
    • 10 of the Batman Movie CMF (Black Canary, both Wonder Twins, Clock King, Hugo Strange, Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, General Zod, Doctor Phosphorus, Killer Moth)
Other ones that I'm interested in, but won't buy at full price:
    • #75205 Mos Eisley Cantina (to expand the last one, for the bartender, the pod and Han's new hairpiece)
    • #75200 Ach-To Island Training (love everything about this set, except for the price)
    • #60182 Pick-Up & Caravan
    • The new TLBM sets mostly for the minifigures (all except for the Bat Shuttle, not interested in that one)
    • The SW battle packs and the double microfighters, again mostly for the figures
    • Some of the smaller Minecraft sets, maybe the Farm Cottage for a good deal
    • Justice League sets (comic versions) For these I'm really only interested in the minifigures, so I might end up buying them from Bricklink if they don't sell too high. But I really want Lobo, Cheetah, Firestorm, Killer Frost and Reverse Flash. I couldn't care less for the other figures and the builds.
Sets I'll probably get but that have yet to be released:
    • #76108 Battle in the Sanctum Santorum: I hope they really make a nice build out of this set, because I already own so much Avengers minifigures and duplicates or slightly updated versions. My main draw will be the build.
    • HUGE HOGWARTS CASTLE, PLEASE LEGO! There has been rumours about Harry Potter CMF and D2C set, and if they end up being true, my money is yours, LEGO!

A new updated line of 2018 Star Wars sets (some not at full price):
    -Sandspeeder (why no Sandtroopers?);
    -Cantina (bartender, the ability to expand last cantinan and a SandTrooper plus the speeder, not at full price);
-Tatooine BP (needed another Tusken Raider).
-pieces to make a factory where the Empire makes furniture and the occasional AT-ACT.

For $10, 60178 Speed Record Car is definitely worth picking up IMO. I’m certain the real life inspiration for this set was either the Thrust SSC or Bloodhound SSC. Or both.

I just found the leaks myself. I think I might want all of them, especially the Mustang and the Porsche duo set. The big Ferrari set is one that I want, but, I’ll have to figure out a way to actually get it, since it will likely be at least $100.

Was in Smyths and TrU today. Both had vastly depleted LEGO shelves, but I did get to see the new Star Wars and City sets. Not fussed with any of the SW sets apart from the microfighters. But the logging tractor and helicopter lorry are a must.

2018 hasn’t looked terribly exciting to me so far, but a couple of bits of recent news have piqued my interest, so for my list:

    1. Technic Rally Car - a lot of people are focussing on the Mack Truck but I really like this model
    2. The Pirate Rollercoaster - looks great if it’s true
    3. The Ninjago City Docks - if it’s anything like Ninjago City count me in
    4. Tron Lightcycle - more because I like nifty Ideas sets than I do Tron
    5. Ship in a Bottle (maybe) - depends on the price and final product
    6. Beehive piece
    7. Series 18 CMF
    8. I might try my hand and picking up a few vintage Pirates sets from Bricklink, it’s always been my favourite theme

I’m a modular fan, but I just don’t love the Diner. Maybe I need to see it in the plastic. This list will expand no doubt about it! Happy New Year to everyone.
