They look amazing. How about a "Lunar" of Exo-Suits?

@Speedman29 - I like it. And it soon a bit like a "loon" of Exo-Suits, which suits the photo :-D

I'm currently (im)patiently waiting to see if the Batcave goes any lower tonight.

Also, does anyone think it'll retire tomorrow or do you think they'll keep it until the end of the year?

Today was bad for bank balance, good for Lego. Grabbed brick bank and got the 24 in 1, nutcracker and was surprised to get a vip set as well!   Picked up a job lot and while it needs sorting, may be my first post in the Brag thread.  Then just as I think I'm done bloody Argos goes and does half price sets.  Don't know if I want more discounts!

@SumoLego - yes, that is better than any I've thought of, or would be likely to think of :)
@tallblocktoo - it's been fun collecting them, but I've been too slow with the idea and with building them, which frustrated me a little. But they look amazing together. I'm going to photograph each one on its own today.

And this morning's status: I've missed out on the #75176 @ 50% off because I already bought 2 at 40% off earlier in the week. Ooops. And S@H is completely messed up, removing my nutcracker and adding a £3.95 postage charge. And that happened *after* I clicked Submit.

I'm sure they'll sort it out behind the scenes like they've promised. But it was a trick just getting the site to accept the order in the first place.

update: yes, they sorted my order out and I have a confirmation email. \o/

Been ringing around Sydney for the Ultimate Batmobile. Finally found a place and will be going there tomorrow. Then later in the week I plan on another little Lego trip and then that should be it for the year. Hoping Ninjago City comes next week some time as well. Then I shall be in my own world building the 18 or so sets I've saved up.

My local Cora supermarket seems to have borrowed  Geoffrey the Giraffe from TRU:

Or maybe that should be "borrowed", with the way they tried to hide it between towers of Lego boxes?

Not much in Canada to take advantage of, but I got the two Holiday Vignettes for under 12$, so I'm happy. Would have ordered more, but some of us go to bed before Midnight. Missed out on SW Advent Calendar for 40 instead of 50 CND $. *SIGH*

I finally decided to end my self-imposed Gray Age (six months due to no job) in which I rarely participated in the forum (there were over 1.6k posts in this thread alone that I had not read...yeah, I didn't go through all of them) but got a few sets here are there (on sale/clearance, of course) and I did it with a $200+ bang!

I was able to get an order at S@H with the Palace Cinema and a few other smaller holiday sets (I wish I had money to get The Simpsons sets...let's hope they aren't gone this upcoming year) as well as two #10704 at Walmart.

Still waiting for something good from Amazon so that I can keep my collection growing...glad to be back!

Feeling much better now that Lego CS has gotten my order from this morning restored. Even at 5 A.M. I had to deal with their site glitches but got my order submitted, only to find it cancelled when I got to work & checked my email. Of all things the Iron Man Brickheadz is on backorder but I can live with that.

Flying to the UK on Monday for a business trip, going to be there Tuesday afternoon. Debating about hitting up the Leicester Square Lego store for a bit while in London for the day
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
    * me at WalMart with a cart full of #10704 *
Several people: (variants of) "Wow, you're doing a lot of building"
Yeah, of my BrickLink parts inventory

@madejp86 When traveling, I'd try to do something unique to the destination rather than something I also have at home. Is there something different about that store? A Legoland is in the general area, those are less common, and Windsor Castle is an example of something destination-specific. Hope you have some time off from the business of the trip, whatever you do.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Leicester Square store. It does have some nice features that you won't find anywhere else. And of course the Lester polybag.

@KingAlanI Legoland isn't actually open on Tuesday so there wouldn't be much point in going there...

@omnium hard to tell distance on the small maps I saw on Wikipedia. And reminded of "Americans think 100 years is a long time, Brits think 100 miles is a long distance"

Was having a good day, last on my list of Christmas decorations to go up was my seasonal sets. Rebuilt #40223, #40139, #40206, 2 x #30474 & #10254 all with no problem.

Then got most of the way through #10245 when this happened.

Have only ever had a couple of the reddish brown 2555's break before when dismantling the Sandcrawler but put that down to heavy handedness on my part but never had a part shatter into pieces.
Looks like Santa's going to have more of a draft than usual this year (at least until a replacement comes) although it shouldn't bother him too much as the poor bloke forgot the rear of the house anyway.

Yes, these are 1997-era Kenner action figure boxes.  (My kids play with the figures.)  And these things in the box aren't really worth much more than their RRP.

I am going to throw these boxes out.  Right?

And um, tomorrow morning I'm taking the Ninjago Ninja minifigures out of a random smattering of sets to do a Ninjago display.  Already got Gen 1, NRG, and Temple of Airjitsu in the display.

Haha my brothers played with them. I would say those empty packs would be worth something to someone. Maybe someone has a heap of loose figures and wants the packs to reseal them and display them. Looks like you still have the voice chips in the Episode one packs that they were too cheap to get the real voices for as well.
Put them up on Ebay or Gumtree and see if you get any takers.

Fun story: my housemate actually bought a used macbook off the guy who invented those voice chips. He actually invented NFC as a technology and it just happens that the first application of this technology (long before Apple pay etc) was the Ep. 1 Star Wars action figures.

It was the weirdest coincidence - my housemate needed a new laptop and  a friend said their landlord had a macbook going for £300. We thought it sounded worth investigating, so we went to check it out. Turns out, he's now partially retired, works for my old uni's student innovation/startup support thingy and rents to students.

He got to watch the movies before release as part of the team which was developing these toys and he was telling us how disappointed he was with Ep. 1, but how he couldn't say anything because he was under an NDA.

A little over a year ago, I bought one of my dream cars...a ‘71 Chevelle. While I enjoy driving it (you know, it’s main purpose), it’s secondary purpose is it’s enormous trunk for storing LEGO surprises for the boys. Today, my wife and I will be going through what I’ve accumulated in it, so 1) we can determine what will turn into Xmas presents and 2) the Chevelle can drop some weight and move a little quicker (um...there’s a lot of LEGO back there). And there’s always 3)...what sets Daddy gets to keep.

Because it's so low density especially before assembly weight isn't much of a storage/transport problem

Black Friday week is very tiring. All those Lego bargains to watch out for and then all the  collecting from shops!
Why can't we actually just have Black Friday? Then Cyber Monday? :)

Today I'm shocked and horrified. Amazon has cancelled my order for #42038 Arctic Truck that I placed in May 2016 (when it was 50% off)! For some reason, they've been unable to find any stock :-)
But like others on here, I've been receiving a regular "we're still trying to source one for you" emails from them. I knew a long time ago that it was never going to arrive but wanted to know how long it would take them to cancel the order.

@omnium me too, did you see this part of the email, it's cracked me up:

You can purchase the newest edition of the original item:

"LEGO 42060 Roadwork Crew Set" [Toy]

The only 'similar' thing is the colour :)
#42060 for those who want to quickly look at it

LOL! Yes, that made me chuckle too :-) Mind you, not only are they both orange, they both have tracks...

But they aren't even in the same price bracket. If they want to give me £30 off the £20 set, I'll take it ;-)

    I've just received a 2nd #40254 Nutcracker. I wasn't expecting a 2nd nutcracker.

Checking my order status, it seems that I'm also expecting two Death Stars later on today too. Oooops!

It looks like my numerous attempts on Saturday morning to order a Death Star has resulted in two orders going through.

Customer Services have agreed that rather than having to take one of the large boxes to the post office to return it, I can refuse delivery of one of them and they'll refund it when it eventually arrives back in Belgium. Doh!

What a joke of a website. But at least I "win" an extra nutcracker...

I’ve been meaning to pick up #75827 - Firehouse Headquarters throughout this year. Today LEGO finally convinced me, picked this up for £137.99 after applying the 20% off and £90 of VIP points that I’ve saved throughout this year. Not only that I managed to get three promos: #40254, #40253 and #40178. The patience paid off both; the discount and the three promos.

That's awesome. Really bummed that Lego didn't offere some of these bigger sets up at 20% off here in US.
