Yeah, just saw this too.  Absolutely horrendous and definitely targeted.  Scum.

@SirKevbags, anything the forum members can do, maybe donations of sets to fairy bricks?

    Thats terrible Kev.

All that hard work and it gets stolen by some lowlife. Made a mess of your van door as well.

Better check your local markets and Gumtree for dodgy Lego sellers.

I`m really sorry to hear that. That is a terrible happening.

well, if I were the thief(s), I`d just open them up and sell them as bulk lego by the pound. They would be really stupid to sell them locally (on gumtree, craiglist, etc)

I'd apparently be on the lookout for the Hulk, as I can't imagine anyone else breaking into a vehicle in this manner.

Seriously - how is this the best way to get into a van? Isn't it just a million times easier to break a window and unlock things? I'm assuming it was parked in some location where nobody could see this happening, as I can't imagine somebody watching this happen and not call police.

I'm so angry at the lowlife that has done this. I work with the police and I know that the best way to resolve this is to stay aware, report any suspicious activity through the correct channels (101 quoting 13170537540) and don't be a vigilante. The less chaff the police have to sort through the sooner they can get to the wheat and get the culprit into custody. Grr!

I am not a vindictive man, in fact those that have met me would say I was anything but nasty.

But I really hope that somebody drops the scum sucking arseholes that did this on their heads from a great height.

To do this from anyone is low, to do it from a charity (and these low life's went prepared to rip the door off a van so they knew what they were doing) is scraping the effluent from the depths.

I seriously hope that they get caught and Fairy Bricks gets the stuff back.

@bandit778 I feel the same, I'd never wish bad on anyone but in these special cases I hope they get the biggest slap of karma!

There are quite a few morally objectionable actions I can fathom, understand, rationalize, particularily for those living in absolute dire situations found in so many places around the world, and who need to ensure the survival of their families,

This most certainly does not belong in that catagory!
    Despicable.

Just plain wrong. I hope they're caught and punished to the full capacity of the law.

Whereabouts was this @sirKevbags? I assume Huddersfield. I’ll be keeping an eye and ear out. People know I collect Lego and have a fair few children. I might be approached...

    @SirKevbags

Absolutely gutted.  And astounded at the levels some people will sink to.
Obviously we're all pretty good at helping when it comes to tracking down Lego sets for Fairybricks, but is there anything we can do to help with Roxanne The Van's repairs?

Can you post a reminder link as to where people can donate to FB, or maybe set up a Justgiving (or similar) page for Roxie?

Beggars belief that. Really sorry that happened @kev. Don't let it dishearten you too much!

An appalling theft, and although I'm a realist, I still hope that the lowlifes responsible are caught, and with media coverage you can live in hope. I'm going to get my children building those Christmas decorations to help and I'll donate to the cause as well.

As an aside I just read this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5090809/Thieves-rob-toy-store-900-worth-Star-Wars-Lego.html

A worrying development, but let's hope not a pattern for the future.

So question, I'm a bit of a noob in these social media things and not really on Facebook or Instagram.

I've added 2 pictures of a decorative thing I've made (one was a MOC for the Secret Santa PM's reveal, but seeing as it was xmassy I'm assuming that's okay) to my flickr, made it public and added #buildtogive as a tag. Is that all I have to do to enter or do I need to subscribe to a group?
  • brickedinbrickedin Member Posts: 568
I’m no expert and too old for Facebook but have seen the tag already on Flickr

This is absolutely awful, not sure why someone would sink that low. On another note, Fairy Bricks has the best van names out there: Roxanne (the van) and Vanessa!!

Very sorry to read of such a display of human depravity. Contribution has been made.

...But I was happy to read that the new conveyance isn't  going to a VW Vanagon!

    Too soon?

    Now put down those stones.....

Posted my #buildtogive on Facebook; hope that works too, @SirKevbags ?

And to the persons who perpetrated this heinous crime: How and why?! Seriously, come on...  (wanted to write much more nasty a destiny for these people, but decided this is not the place).

Exactly. Those 2000 sets stolen are part of the 20000 sets TLG has commited to give Fairy Bricks as part of the #BuildToGive campaign. Details here.

So if you want TLG to give sets to Fairy Bricks: get building!

    Van Diesel?

On a serious note terrible to hear and definitely worth keeping an eye out for the sets being sold on.
