    The satellite tag is misspelt:

    ^ Good grief, corrected. Thanks!
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,575
^ I know, right? How long has that tag been around? :-)

Hello, I hope that this suggestion pertains more toward the database side than the site itself, but was wondering if there are thoughts on an export feature (to excel) when we sort by list.  I might just be ignorant of a better ability to accomplish this than copying and pasting values into excel.

Business case/reason:  I want to look at the released set prices that I want and determine how much money that would cost me (hey, everyone needs goals!).

Thank you very much!  I really appreciate everything you do!
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
Does the CSV view provide all the data you need? It has retail prices.

You can cut the text and paste into Excel which'll recognise it for what it is and populate the sheet.

I got two keychains with lights that I can't seem to find in the Database.I know you don't add all the 'gear' but wondering if these would be okay? Can't seem to find a number besides UT29002 or the barcode 404126290020, that's Admiral Ackbar.

I also got C3-PO with model UT20391 and barcode 4041268203914. Are these maybe not officially brought out by Lego? Or how does it work? Maybe I need to ask that question to the keychain specialist @SumoLego

I can get you better pictures if you want them.

They are produced by licensees and thus not automatically eligible to be added to the database. We tend to do so only when they are sold at lego.com.

    Okay, that makes sense. Thanks!

@snowhitie - I completely avoided the LED light/keychain thing.  It's one step outside of actual LEGO figures and bricks, and less storable that the minifigure keychains.

They are more resilient than "real" minifig keychains from my experience, though—and of course they made Unikitty ones (not arguing they need to be added to the database, just that I've lost too many good figs to traditional keychains to count).

Sorry to bump but I picked up the Ninjago Annual book (Garmadon Attack!) with the Cole minifig on the cover, don't see it listed in the DB, then saw an article about some things not making the cut, but then I saw the Batman version in there and got confused.

^ Most of these don't make the cut but the Batman one had an excusive figure.

I've brought along a Legoland Tumbler #850984 from Billund which isn't in the database yet.

Now I know it's technically maybe not what goes into Brickset's DB but there's plenty of prior art in there do make it deserve its place (and I'd like to track that I own it).
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
If and when it gets sold at shop.lego.com is the only time such tat gets added these days.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
Ouch - that's not gonna happen for the Legoland specific ones :(
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
    Nope!

Problem is it's only one of a gazillion such items which are of little interest to the majority and would only clutter the database. Plus there's no way to keep such a list comprehensive so I'd rather have no data than incomplete.

Something small in need of correction that I just noticed: #7921 is listed as a snowboarder when he's clearly a skateboarder. He and the other McDonalds promos also probably shouldn't be listed in the Gravity Games subtheme, since unlike the smaller skateboarding and snowboarding sets, I don't think they were tied to that license at all.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,575
is there a reason why #41597 is tagged as a Justice League set, but not a DC Comics Super Heroes set?

Also, what is the 'Classic Space Logo' tag used for? I don't think it's consistent, FWIW. #924 #6980 for reference.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
I'm sure we'll sort out 41597 when we know what ìt is.

Probably to indicate sets that include it that are not classic space sets.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,575

^ But it is used on Classic Space Sets, for example: #6972 #487 #1974 and #928 - the daddy of all Classic Space sets! :-)

Not an addition, but a correction: 31076 Daredevil Stunt Plane is listed as DAVEdevil Stunt Plane. Who's Dave? :P

Can we add "The LEGO Visual History" that was highlighted on the front page as one of the book peoples offers.

    https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=786892&catalogId=10051&searchTerm=lego

I didn't know what the right ISBN number is as some of the other books seem to have different number to the books I have.

    Thanks
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,330
^ Although it is already kind of there as its the same book (almost) as:

    ^

    Good point
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
It's probably the same book without the slip case and #11910.

  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,330
^ Almost, Its a bit odd really, different cover which is understandable as #11910 uses the slip case as a cover but its laid out a bit differently. Intro page looks different but has same text.

But yes its the same book no need to add.
  • HanzoHanzo Member Posts: 607
Whelp, never mind, I see it's already there.
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,330
@Huw just a quick question, how do you decide which year a set belongs to. The new Lego Ninjago movie sets seem to have been bouncing between 2017 and 2018. Is it when a set is first sold at lego.com. Is there a cut off point for it to be in a year?

@SMC - We assign years to sets based upon the year given on their packaging. The new sets from The LEGO NINJAGO Movie were originally listed as 2018 sets but we moved them to 2017 a couple of days ago upon seeing that the boxes feature 2017 trademark information on the underside.

^ Thanks @CapnRex101, I had always wondered as some sets show up early just before Christmas but are mark as the next year.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,575
#31066 doesn't have the multibuild tag.

They seem to have moved to 2018 again.

Erroneously. I will be changing them back in a mo'.

Just to confuse us, the Joker Manor is (c) 2018 on the box so in its case I'm torn between using the actual release date and the (c) date given it's a D2C set with a defined release date, which was, of course, 2017.

    Thoughts
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,330
^ What is the (c) date on the 10256 Taj Mahal which was released a few days after.

I would say 2017 for the Joker Manor although not sure I can come up with a sold reason but an official November release seems to safely full in 2017.

^ The Taj Mahal is labelled as 2017. It's all very confusing! It appears to vary from one batch to the another as we have been informed that the new TLNM sets are (c) 2018 on the box while those I have in the UK are (c) 2017.

I just noticed that #75087 is listed as a Clone Wars set; shouldn't it be considered an Expanded Universe set instead? As far as I'm aware, the 2D Clone Wars TV show is considered non-canon and this specific Starfighter never showed up in the 3D Clone Wars show. Obviously this isn't a major issue but I'm wondering what others think about this.
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
I was browsing the Creator Expert sets, and noticed that #10258 London Bus doesn't have the tag.

Leaves a strange gap in the 10251-10260 range ;)

I'm pretty sure it appeared in the 2003 Clone Wars miniseries - but you're right, that is confusing. I'll fix.

I always assumed the 2D Clone Wars was canon as Mace Windu force grip on Grievous crushed his organs and gave him his asthmatic breathing seen in Ep 3. Did it lose status at the Disney buyout?

Im not sure how the date system works, but should #5005233 Hamleys Royal Guard release year be 2017 since it has already been released?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
^ To avoid argument and confusion we go by the (c) date on the packaging so if anyone reading has one please let us know what it is as I can't find a picture of the back of the bag anywhere.
