A few people have mentioned this so I figured I would make a new thread for it. I was wondering what people think will be the next set to be remade by The Lego Group and why they think so?
My bet is on something from the UCS like the Y-Wing, and for non-UCS I say the Taj Mahal.
Other ones I could see being remade are the Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, Market Street, a bunch of UCS sets (ISD, Tie Interceptor, Blockade Runner, Death Star II, AT-ST, Vader's Tie Fighter, Cloud City), Harry Potter sets, PoTC ships, Emerald Night, Statue of Liberty, and Eiffel Tower.
Sets like the new Winter Toy Shop #10249
(which is almost an exact replica of #10199) and the new MF have paved the way for more remakes. The Winter, UCS, and modular themes seem more prone for remakes because we get a least one set from those every year. I think there is a concern of what iconic architecture sets could really be made at this point. Tower Bridge has been out for 7 years and when it gets retired I suspect we will get a remake of a landmark already done. I don't think TLG would pay to license PoTC again, but they are bound to make exclusive pirate sets again that look similar to the ones in that theme. Also, I can definitely see them licensing Harry Potter again with new HP books coming out.
