The batman, ninjago and City minifigs are just sitting on the shelf in the LEGO aisle at my local TRU store. They even have a normal shelf tag. I will go back tomorrow and try to get 2 more Batman sets and another free ninjago set if anyone wants to trade for them.

Do they count towards the $50 threshold if purchased?

^I understand. Both stores in my vicinity tend to be flaky with promotions. Last year I did somehow manage to get the first Bricktober set, but only because there was a sale on a theme I wanted, not because I was specifically wanting the promo.

I will try TRU on Sunday (unless I hear of anyone finding the LBM set earlier), but I don't know if I expect success.

I don't trust my TRU not to sell the Batman set early if they have them. They did that with the Battle Pods & other various promos before.
Both of my TRUs usually have the polys and things like the bat pod out for sale during the promo, but neither has ever had the bricktober stuff out.  I think they take that one a little more serious for whatever reason.

Always ask. Even though the Bricktober sets weren’t out at mine, they would’ve let me buy one for $19.99. I’ve only had one instance of them not allowing me to purchase the promo separately. Every other time, they’ve been cool with it.
I thought they were 14.99 USD.. at 20 dollars Id rather buy a LEGO set (at actual retail of course) to get it.
They were in past years, but this time around it rung up at $19.99. I didn’t end up buying one at that, but they told me I could. I may buy an extra Batman one for that price, but none of the others.

If I remember correctly, last year mini figure sets were originally $19.99. Then a few months after the promo, they were down to $14.99. I never saw them less than that.

If anyone can get me a #5004938 Ninjago set, I would very much appreciate it.  I have several CMFs and other polybags, etc. available.  There are some currently on eBay for a little over retail, but thought I would try and trade for one first.
  • richlrichl Member Posts: 246
The pop-up TRU at Times Square seemed to have a lot of the Ninjago Bricktober sets behind the counter. The difficulty was getting to the $50 when I could constantly check my phone to see regular prices. Settled for Ninjago CMFs, a small Friends set my daughter wants and the bounty hunter SW battle pack. Also, the store was empty. Much quieter than the old store ever was.

@richl did you per chance ask whether they will be giving the TLBM bricktober this coming Sunday?
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
Yes I checked just now they said Batman starts Sunday but no store has calanders yet for sure but they have been told Batman will be put out Sunday.
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
Also have a ton of the ninjago 4 packs here. Wish I was inteerested but meh.
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,176
Do we know if TLBM sets will be on sale that week?
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
They didn’t say. All ninjago sets were on sale and my store is actually setting there prices with other retails stores now. They weren’t marked up like before. Found a bunch of the droid poly pages of r3 I think and bought them. Was gonna buy the new at-at but it was in a case and it was tiny so I decided not too. Sunday can’t come fast enough. If anyone wants the Batman set I don’t mind picking them up Sunday for them.

Snagged a #76012 Green Mech Dragon for $40.00 plus a 3 CMF to get the Ninjago minifig set this evening.
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
I also bought the ninjago set. Figured I would get all four sets and keep them sealed.
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
Can someone tell me who the four characters are in the ninjago set?

I noticed that the PS4 Lego Dimension starter sets are not just the Golden Ninja set as a special addition to it, but TRU has the Aquaman set as a special addition (instead of the Golden Ninja).
  • eggsheneggshen Member Posts: 600
That golden ninja is actually Kai, in one of the episodes all of the ninja gain the golden power, this version is Kai as a golden ninja.

Thanks Guys. That link gives you everything you need to know. Glad I picked the set up now.

I would have to say that the Toys R Us that I went to was pretty on top of it all. They had these signs absolutely everywhere on the Lego section. I asked one of the employees about the promotion and he knew all about the promotion and the forthcoming weeks. Didn’t pick up anything, waiting for the batman set. Don’t know if this sign would help anyone who’s store doesn’t know about the promo.

With the exception of the Battle Pods, whenever my store has had these signs up they've had the promos.

My stores always have the correct signage up as well, though typically only about 50% of the time have the actual promo items.

Yeah, went to one store with tons of the Ninjago sets.. Waiting for the Batman ones and likely will be paying a visit to my local TRU on Sunday.

Score 1 point for TRU.  I have to work all day tomorrow so I can't be there. I decided to stop in and ask if they would sell one to me today and the guy told me if I bought $50 worth of Lego he would do it.

I think, for 20 dollars for the set of four figures, Ill be trying to find a couple of LEGO sets at retail to add up to 50 dollars, it seems like the better deal, if you can find a few sets at retrail, and not TRU's 'retail', of course.

I like the cut of your jib. You might need to buy a lot more to cover the demand.

Will buying three of the promo trigger a free promo?  I thought I tried to do this with the batman cave pod and it didn't go through.

Hate to burst your bubble, but more often than not, they're not going to have them available to purchase the day, and most often, week the promo goes live.

They're supposed to keep them behind the registers, and won't sell them to you. You're supposed to only get them wth making a purchase.

However, intelligence is not Toys R Us' strong suit, so YMMV.

I asked at mine yesterday they told me to come in Sunday they will be on the shelves to get for $19.99. So I’m buying all I can.

It is YMMV and how many they may have available as a whole. Some do have them just on a shelf.

If anyone wouldn't mind posting their success with buying multiple and trying to score another batman promo set for free, please let us know.  I won't be able to swing by TRU until much later tomorrow, and would like to know of your successes or failures, as it will impact how I go about acquiring the 3 promo sets I would like to get.  Thanks!

Thanks, boomie.  If you could also take a quick peek at TLBM sets, particularly the bane truck and two face truck, to see if they are on sale, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Maybe we will be lucky and the sets will be greatly reduced(20-30% off) like they were when the Batpod poly came out.  If I can get an Arkham Asylum for $95.99, I will snap it up.

Heading to mine now. Will keep you Guys updated. Toysrus.com had the asylum marked down to $119 this morning will prolly get that. Hoping some other sets are down as well.
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
Success! I heard an employee tell someone they are not supposed to sell the Bricktober sets during the promotional period. However, there were a few people buying three sets apiece up at the CS desk. Probably getting a fourth one free? I'm not sure about that. I was directed to a regular checkout lane to get my one free set. Don't be surprised to see a whole bunch of new listings on eBay for this!

Selected DC, Marvel & LBM sets are 20% off. I just couldn't go for the Batwing for $75.99 since that is less than 20% off the regular price of $89.99. I opted for #76088 @ $47.99 + the cheapest small item to push it to $50. No need to give TRU too much of my money. Got the 2x VIP starting Tuesday on [email protected]

I was able to buy the Ninjago set, this week's Batman set, an R3-M2, a Bat pod, to get another free Batman Bricktober set

YMMV, I got mine, but got only two as I found a cache of Batpods still there. Bought one Bricktober batman figure set outright, and then got another because I was over $50.

One telling thing, and maybe this is really nothing, but when I went to this TRU on Wednesday they had 3 cases of Ninjago figure sets. For the Batman? They had one case behind the desk, and none on the shelf (maybe someone bought those?), and only the only Ninjago sets left that they had appeared to be on the shelf (and only about 4-5, I think).
So I'm wondering if there are less quantities of the Batman figure sets floating around than the Ninjago sets (perhaps they had more arrive due to the Ninjago movie being out).
  • BoomstickBoomstick Member Posts: 247
Yeah so my cashier wouldn’t sell them too me this time and last week they asked how many ninjago sets I wanted. I bought the LEGO city big set and helicopter set and made my wife go through and get me a second Batman set. I asked if they would be putting them on the shelf and the cashiers response was like my job is register. I was rude but peeved and said maybe you should take the time to learn about events. And she was like it’s just a job. So frustrating. Last week the manager was like looking stuff up online and finding me in store to tell me about Bricktober because he was just as excited as me. Hopefully by the middle of the week they have them out and I will pick more up for people.

Local store allowed buying it separately.
I went with #76085 Battle of Atlantis @ 20% off and #76078 Hulk vs Red Hulk which was marked $53.99 (down from $59.99) and had 20% off, so $43.19 (28% off RRP).
  • canon03canon03 Member Posts: 364
I'm just glad my local store doesn't allow them to be purchased separately.  At least not until the week after.  It's probably the only reason they had any left, and I was only hoping to score one.

Two other checkers came over and grabbed one each for other customers, so they were going fast.

It was still early, but there was a whole shelf full.
I only got one; did not purchase more (might later this week after giving people a chance to get theirs).

Also, an employee mentioned that next week will probably be City.
