I've seen lots of negativity about this set across a few sites - which has really surprised me, because I wasn't a huge fan of the Batman movie, nor am I a massive Batman collector, and I try not to buy too many sets...but I loved this from the first glance.

Holy smokes, Bat fans!  It's definitely going on my list.

I wonder if you can stack the Wayne Manor part on top of the Classic Batcave...

I don't know yet, @SumoLego , but when/if I ever get all my sets unpacked I'm sure 'nuff going to try!

I definitely have a feeling that it will be possible to de-Jokerize this moderately easily (although I suspect many pieces would need to be replaced with a more sedate color in the "straight" version. And I think one of this, plus my 2 copies of the Classic Batcave, plus the figure-less version of the Batcave Breakin, plus my partial set of Jokerland, plus the figure-less and carless set of Arkham Asylum, will make for a pretty impressive MOC! If I ever get the time and space, of course. Meantime I can gloat over my hoard and dream....

Probably not hard at all, especially since those more sedate colors would likely be cheaper than the zanier ones in the set (heck, if you resold the bits you removed, including the new rails, you could probably finance all the changes and then some). The core structure is mostly there—the main thing that'd need to be created from scratch is the front door and entrance hall; otherwise it'd mostly be removing bits from the exterior and filling in the gaps left behind.

It's funny, had this come out in 2012 or 2013 during the early DC waves, I would have absolutely loved it. Now that we've had the Dynamic Duo Funhouse and Jokerland, I just feel it's a mashed-up version put on steroids.

Can I be in the dark ages for only Batman and Super Heroes stuff?

There is a certain level of repetition of sets that becomes... repetitive.

I couldn't fathom trying to assemble all of the Star Wars minifigs, or the vast array of Batmans or Spider-Mans.

I accidentally order the minifigs to the wrong A-Wing set, not realizing there are now four or five versions...

When the Bat-lighthouse comes you know it is time to give up, before you end up buying the Bat-fire-engine.

Thanks @sid3windr and @Aanchir! In that case it might actually have been in my search results, but I was probably looking for a Batman version of the MF instead of a MF-fied Batmobile ;)

Yeah I am pretty sure it was in one of the '18 sets.

I love the set, (won't buy it but I love it).
Now LEGO, hows about you give us a Daily Planet, Titan's Tower, and Hall of Justice for once instead of Wayne Manor (again) and other Bat stuff?!?
    Pretty Please?!?

There was a rumor (more like just a wild guess) that a Batman Beyond figure would be included with the Bat Shuttle.  I just want the figure somehow.  That's my favorite version of Batman.

This looks pretty cool, not as cool as ninjago city but still pretty good. Only thing that seems to be missing is debt, its like 8 studs? I hope it is more then just a façade.

    not expensive enough?

yeah, I thought the interior was a bit disappointing, some rooms are just 2 studs deep, and there is barely anything at the roof level.

I like that it's a manor and that it's really big, but I also think, once you remove the joker stuffs, the facade doesn't look that elaborate, compared to #10937 for example.

also on the plus side, it's clearly unique, and that's a problem, it's nice, but not as nice as many other sets from this year, and it's not likely lego will ever release something else similar.

Boy, it seems like the constant speculation about the UCS falcon seemed to really hose other leaks/information about other sets, because this one seemed to have came out of nowhere. This, combined with no one seeming to have an idea about the next mod, tells me too many people were putting too much energy into the Falcon rumors.

I always thought that Titans Tower would be the easiest to MOC. I managed a small one (mirco figure scale) for  Edinburgh Comic Con this year and figured it would be simple to scale up to Minifig scale. The biggest issue would be the support for the wings of the T.

As I said on the homepage comments, if that tiny thing has over 3K pieces, them I'm the king of Latvia.

Rollercoaster pieces are very promising though - just some loop-the-loop stuff and some kind of lift piece and we're into a winner!

^Haha! I just googled it and it turns out Latvia doesn't even have a royal family....

Seriously though, where do all the pieces go?
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ A lot of these recent bigger sets seem to have a greater number of smaller pieces than ever before. On one hand, it’s nice because it adds detail that wasn’t there in sets from years ago. On the other, it makes the piece count seem inflated in many cases.

It isn't that small, use minifig for scale. It looks small because they have to take a wide shot, but they are restricted by the image width.

It's never too late to start one, and it helps to be Latvian Orthodox. Ironically, with this conversation, the purple hats go well with the Joker's color palette.

    I look at it as a 1,800 piece set with 1,600 pieces for decoration / Joker add-on. It's almost a 2-in-1.

I look forward to this set eventually getting down to around 200 dollars (like the Classic Batcave has). Love the set, and want the figures, but the price is a big high for me.

Extra ridiculous for the fact there are plain Harley and Alfred in the Manor set. Instead of wasting everyone's time, put the disco versions in the mansion and stick some other goofy versions in the CMF line.
