Nice find on the NBA sets! I just paid a nice penny for the collection of 8. They came out in 2003 and some of the players are retired by now like Iverson. That is some really old stash you found.

@bahnstormer - I see 6706 and 6709 in there. Any other Western finds?

@LFT - a couple of local independent stores. All are new off the shelf. There are a lot of indie stores here ;-)

@sidersdd, postage is astronomic to the states on sets. will get back to you on ninjago over weekend. no other western sets there.

Went back today and picked up the rest. i also took a camera and took some pics of what else was there. The 5938 sets have an adventure story on cassette included (in German)

Crazy that all that stuff is still available in shops. I see a few more items I'm interested in. Perhaps several sets in one shipment might make it worth the cost. Depends on what you're asking for the sets. I follow up with you in PM.

Wow, if you paid reasonable prices for all that, you hit the jackpot... I'm impressed...

How much did you pay @bahnstormer?

btw, in case anyone missed it - I didnt buy the stuff pictured below the beetle ;-)

the matchbox pic uploaded in error (they are all rare german market only versions from late 90s) this pic should have loaded instead - i didnt buy these either. They had another 4 factory cases of NHL sets(48 sets per case...)

@brick builder - original retail plus a "discount", we cant pay in DM anymore ;-)

@bahnstormer How about that Lego 7864. What would the cost for it and shipping be to the US?
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
Can you post a list, and shipping to the UK of Studios please?

    How much?
  • bahnstormerbahnstormer Member Posts: 180
^^ just to make it really clear

ANYTHING BELOW THE PIC OF THE BEETLE IS STILL AT THE STORE!!!

The studio sets were at the original price, ie more than you can get them for on ebay, so I left them ;-)
  • stephenvwstephenvw Member Posts: 89
@bahnstormer - How much would you want for 8674 Ferrari F1? If I understood your post correctly you brought three of these home? Or at least that's how many are pictured.

While I can't compete with the incredible find mentioned above, I can report that I FINALLY added the UCS Millennium Falcon to my collection. It's a used set, but in very good shape. Here are 5 photos of what I received:

    http://brickupdate.com/lego-star-wars-ultimate-collectors-millennium-falcon-10179/

I'll be building it in the coming weeks. I was lucky to get it for a very reasonable price.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,487
^what price? Looks like you got one of the specially marked boxes! Score!
When I got mine, I got it for $175... 3 days before it was discontinued. Luckiest find of my LEGO career!
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
@bahnstormer, what's the red box/sign with white "LEGO" printing next to the 7864?

    Lucky you!!!! :) :) :)

Very cool, so what did you pay for it??? :) (if we can ask)

A few thoughts about your blog post...

It actually has 5197 parts, not the misreported 5195 parts, the second edition printings had the part count on the boxes (see box picture of one of my sets) (speaking of this, can @huw or someone please fix the Brickset database on this, the set has 5,197 parts, the original press release was either wrong or they changed it before production).

It is the second largest Lego set by part count, Taj Mahal has the highest part count at 5922 parts. This set is the largest Star Wars Lego set. That being said, UCS Falcon does indeed have more parts by weight than Taj Mahal, so in that regard it might be the heaviest, if not the physically largest or highest part count set.

It was discounted to $375, not $350, on two occasions... Both were the "May the 4th be with you..." promotions when it was 25% off, or $375.

You ended up with the Collectors Edition which has the Certificate of Authenticity, only 10,000 of these sets were made, my understanding is that they sold out rather quickly in 2007 when this first came out. Have you looked to see what number you have yet?

Please do post some pictures and a review when you build it, I have been hemming and hawing over building this one. I don't have a "used" set to build, and like you, am having a hard time justifying opening a new one. I have been unable to find a deal I like on a used one either, lucky you!!!!!
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Thanks for the corrections @LegoFanTexas! I updated my blog post to be more accurate. I held the certificate envelope up to the light, the number is in the low 2,000s.

I got it for less than $700. I am thrilled to have gotten it at such a reasonable price compared to what they are selling for across the aftermarket.

  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,487
^$700 is a really great price for one with the certificate. Saw one go for $1300 on eBay a few days ago for one just like it. Well done and congrats on the great find!
  • bahnstormerbahnstormer Member Posts: 180
@sidersdd , they are storage trays for spares, the owner wanted to keep them

You're welcome! I was trying to be helpful, I hope it came across that way! :)

My local Tesco Extra has the Technic Supercar 8070 on 50% sale - at £50
  • luckyrussluckyruss Member Posts: 872
Well pleased this evening. My (lovely, dear) wife managed to pick up a 4954 set today (the Creator Town House) - £19.99 from a local charity shop. Something of a result in itself for her to buy lego - she normally just throws the stuff at me!

Absolutely mint box, all the internal box and packaging. The bag with the car has been taken out, but everything else is mint still sealed in the original packaging.

Pretty much makes up for missing out thus far on all the Asda and Tesco deals...

I just picked up Cafe Corner, Market Street, and Green Grocer from a guy on craigslist for $600. They're all used, but they're in great shape! I was extremely excited!

^ Wow! Great find. A Cafe Corner alone cost $600.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
@dustinmroberts WOW - that is quite a deal! The three most expensive modulars all for $200 each. Expensive for Craigslist, but a bargain for a true collector. Congrats!
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
^^^ Awesome deal. I think you've made quite a few people here jealous, including me. =)

Was it in the Dallas craigslist

Great find @dustinmroberts ! At $200 per set, that is almost at MSPR for both the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer. Have fun building these sets!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^^If confirmed, many Dallas-based AFOLs need to be placed on suicide watch for missing the boat. It's heart wrenching to know that deal even existed.

It was. It was advertised for $750, but the guy took $150 off since I showed up that night. They don't have the box or the instructions, but even still, at $200 each, it's not a bad haul. I've already got a Green Grocer, so that one will be hitting BrickLink once I verify the parts.

  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Well, it isnt't as good as some I have read in this thread :) but I stopped by my local Target and got 7931 for $25 and at TJ Maxx I found 7188 and 7572 for a total of $30
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@jadenanc Was 7931 "marked" as clearance? I don't go out of my way to check Targets, but I haven't seen anything marked.
