While I wasn't a huge fan of the normal Ninjago product line, the LNM sets are pretty awesome. I'll be grabbing a few for the Chinatown area of my city.

Training Jay with double-faced head (which, naturally, I didn't notice wasn't showing either of them when I put it back on the shelf to take the photo) on the annual.  £4 in Asda and £3.99 in Smyths today.

Ran across a new Ninjago movie display case at walmart today.  Was on the official movie merch endcap.  Has two levels, 6 lego brand grey plates, lots of depth and it looks like a built in full color Ninjago background.  $24.99.  I already regret not buying one.  I am guessing after the lash back they had with the Lego Batman Movie CMF display case (that wouldnt fit all the figures from the CMF line), this is thier new answer.  I like it!

^ I bought one of these cases, and after a quick look at it I bought another one the next day.  Since I'm currently away from home, I don't have any minifigs to test in it.  The case has a double sided background to use, so it can easily be replaced for other series.  I hope to be able to fit 2 regular cmf series in a case.

It is killing me to wait until I get back home.  This is the nicest case I have found to date.

One other nice thing about the "Play and Display Case", as opposed to the minifigure display cases that have separate compartments for each fig, is that it's more suited to the variously-sized figs you tend to see in Ninjago. There have been a lot of Ninjago figs who might not be ideal for a regular minifigure display case, from the bigfig Dogshank to the unusually tall Nadakhan to the unusually long Serpentine generals.

Speaking of that, after this year, there will have been over 300 discrete (i.e. not counting variants with or without neck accessories or other extremely minor distinctions) Ninjago minifigures! Granted, I am counting some types of figs that probably wouldn't be counted in the character encyclopedias, namely the Skeleton Dummies, Samurai X's various droids, and generic skeletons like the one in City of Stiix, but it's still an incredible number.

After thinking long and hard about it, I ran back to Wally world and grabbed one of the play and display cases.   I love the huge amount of space and double sided backer, its big enough to comfortably fit two CMF figures with base deep on each level, or three without base (although it would be hard to see).  I also think it would work nice as a way to display the mini builds:

They also look about the right size to display the star wars microfighters or maybe even brickheadz. Would have to swap out the pic at the back first though.
  • Destiny's Bounty on sale in Irish Smyths stores at EUR 99.99, most stores seem to have stock.

Hey, @Thoughtsonblocks or @Legogram, could you please supply the Walmart SKU for that display case?
  • LegogramLegogram Member Posts: 321
@Infinityman, the # on the receipt is
    088798801039
I tried to find it with the walmart app the night I purchased it, but this number and a scan of the upc was not found.  Hopefully you will have better luck.

Saw these in TRU yesterday but they were a whopping $34.99 compared to the $24.99 mentioned above. Tried online but didn't see them on WM's site. WM did have #70617 for $80, as does Amazon.
That's a pretty sweet deal imo

I have no idea what Ninjago is. Ninja themed Lego show I assume.
That said Ninjago City and Destinys Bounty are two sets I want. I'll be picking up Destinys Bounty soonish. Probably early this week if I can find some time to go into a store I know has it and I will wait a bit for Ningago City and if I can't see it on store shelves I'll buy it online from Lego.
They both look amazing and look to be fun to build.

The Temple of Airjitsu is probably worth a look or two... it is on the cusp of retirement, and multiple sets would probably make for an excellent pagoda.  (At least, that's why I have three of them.)

^ Since I missed out on the MF... I'm thinking of picking up a 3rd AND a 4th.  Very much like the look of this set!!

Just finished Ninjago City. It took a couple weeks, but my son and I got it all put together. It looks great, with lots of little details. Ninjago City is the first big modular I've ever put together, and I might be hooked. My only qualm about Ninjago City is that the sides of the set that aren't forward facing have some walls that don't look too good (i.e. a lot of different color bricks make up the 'wall'). What I'd like to do is to make something like one of those massive movie posters that hangs off of buildings, but put them on those sides to cover up the mismatched brick.

Otherwise, the set is great. My son loves the moveable crab cooking grill, the food conveyor belt, and the atm. An eventual change I'd like to make to the Ninjago city is I want to add some lighting to it, because it is a shame that so many awesome details are hidden away in the darkened rooms.

I have seen it in a couple of stores and was curious about it but there are sets I want before it plus I'm going to the US in March and it's pretty low down. Retiring or not.
    I can't justify spending $300 on it.
If it's still avaliable when I get back in April I'll give it a look.

I know $300 is a lot, but for close to 5000 pieces it's got a pretty dang solid price per piece (albeit a set with a lot of small pieces).

I was at my local Wal*Mart this past Saturday, 9-16, and they had a free Lego build of a mini Ninjago Flying Jelly Sub. I haven't been able to find any info on this set anywhere. Has anyone else seen this? or have more information.

@datsunrobbie  That looks great!  I picked up 2 of those cases last week when I was in Maryland.  I haven't had time to play with them yet, but based on your display I think I will be sending my hubby on a mission. :-)

Do you think 13 Brickheadz would fit in the case?

There are six 8x16 baseplates = 48 studs wide. The Brickheadz seem to be on 6-wide bases of varying depth, so the case should hold at least 16 of them.

@datsunrobbie  Thank you.  I can't find a few of the Brickheadz I had assembled, and wanted to wait until I had them all ready to go.

These cases would be great for all of the cmf series.  I wish the stores in my area carried them :-(

Time to send my hubby on a LEGO mission.  Maybe he will find the great price that you found.....

    Thanks for your help.

FYI the ninjago display case is available online at Lego shop at home and tru for $34.99. Just ordered one myself!

@Legogram I have all my brickheadz in the there at the moment and they look splendid

Could have sworn I read on here that the Ninjago posters they sent weren't folded but rolled.  Mine came folded in quarters so maybe I just got unlucky?
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,390
My friend also got one folded in her order.
  • LegogramLegogram Member Posts: 321
@mh3490  Thank you so much.  I have Wonder Woman as well as the first 12.  Do you think that the Ninjago Movie Brickheadz will fit in the same case?
  • LegogramLegogram Member Posts: 321
If you can find the display case at Walmart, the price I found was $24.86.  Unfortunately, the upc doesn't seem to work at walmart.  Even my local stores cannot find it in the system.  Perhaps it is too new???
  • sklambsklamb Member Posts: 515

@kwkw, I've just looked all through the [email protected] site and can't find this display set (though I did work out that their search function doesn't work at all--odd, since it used to). Pity, as it does look useful. Not $35 worth of useful, perhaps...but I would have liked to see the description and better pictures. Where was it hiding when you saw it?

It was, at least, a very enjoyable half-hour scrummaging through some of the odd corners of the site I haven't visited in a while!

@mh3490  Thanks again :-)  I can't wait to set it up.....now to find those missing brickheadz.....

Finally came across the cases in a local Walmart.  Looks like only one in the area got them.  They are pretty nice for $25.

Just picked up a few more CMFs that fit well in a city setting - Lloyd, Jay, and Zane. Apparently I got one of those Lloyd's where the hoodie hair is more of a grey. I've heard that this happened, but this is the first Lloyd I've gotten. Does anyone have both versions of the hoodie?
