Today, I decided I want to try to build a "modernized" version of #6646.

I might try to do the same with classic sets later on, especially Town. I love a lot of the concepts behind Classic Town sets.

What are those pod things @stlux? They look interesting but they to have passed me by!

Afternoon on the sofa watching motorsport and sorting a recent Facebook marketplace purchase. Two huge crates of LEGO. I only wanted the Marvel/Harry Potter/Indiana Jones/POTC sets and minifigures. Had to take the box of Bionicle as well. Is there a market for it? What would you ask for 2kgs of unsorted?

Regarding the Nexo pod, you were very close to it, @stlux - took a paparazzi shot at the shop engraving counter:

I asked, but they were out. I think it was the promo previous to the ski pod.

Contemplating what to buy first: Ye olde fishing store or Ninjago City. Dont wanna miss out on either one but just got the budget for one of them at the moment.

I sure am glad that I don't care for the new UCS Falcon!

@bookmum Those are polybags. The #5004929 Batman one was difficult to source for a while (there's a whole thread about them), but eventually became available at TRU and elsewhere.
The #5004916 Ninjago one is currently GWP with any TLNM purchases on S@H and at Lego Stores.
The #5004920 Friends one we spotted on Friday at the Billund Legoland Lego Store, GWP with any Friends purchase.

Today has been about recovering from my Billund trip + putting together some of the sets I bought there.

I already assembled #40176 Scarif Stormtrooper at the airport, but this now prompted me to finally also put together #40268 R3-M2:

Even though the base for both is the exact same, the instructions get you to put each together in a very different way. Somebody at TLG has an aversion to copy/paste!

Also the connector pegs that come with R3-M2 are black, but the ones in the Scarif poly are LBG...

went to a lego store for the first time at Les Halles. didn't buy anything, but took a good look at the models, a painter, a baker, a pirate, a queen, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame... as well as retail model of course. I wasn't sure about the green mech dragon, but it looks really cool for real. I have been considering the U-wing for a while and it looked really good too. most underwhelming set award may go to assembly square which I didn't plan to get anyway. modulars are good for 150€, but for 260€ it missed a special extra.

I quite like the holographic (is that's what it's called?) effect on the Ninjago and Friends pods.
I don't have any of these, but from the pictures, they look like the kind where the image changes based on your viewing angle. If so, they are called "lenticular". I've seen some really cool ones built with actual LEGO pieces (usually cheese wedges), for example, https://www.flickr.com/photos/10321180@N08/7783621148/in/photostream.

Received a newspaper in the mail instead of the Fire Brigade that I ordered.

The EBay seller sent you a newspaper instead of the set? It's lame if it's the case however eBay is great for sending your money back. This is why I believe in karma and that dude got a load of bad karma. Best of luck mate.

Built #4000010 ('old' Lego House architecture), another #5004920 Friends pod, the car from #40256 Create The World 3-in-1.

That last one really isn't the typical 3-in-1, is it? If you build the car at least, over half of the pieces remain unused (but of course you don't have enough bricks to build any of the other models).

Trying to enter all my Billund trip purchases into their respective Excel sheets and the Brickset database, but somehow still too lazy... Also trying to not be sad about all the things I did NOT bring home...

Just put on the first episode of LEGO Masters, see if that'll get the energy flowing again :)

I have some big cats roaming my desk thanks to a Bricks & Pieces order:

Just needed something small to get me over the free shipping threshold, so didn't call for the tiger this time. Will do that next time :)

Happy. Ordered a Tutu Harley Quinn from a German eBay seller for a reasonable price but had a slight concern it would end up being a fake. She arrived today and is 100% Lego so now I can untick 70916 from my Want list :-)

Is there a Thrawn/Throne pun I'm missing here? Well, it needs to be explicitly stated, anyway, so I've done that. :-)
  • FowlerBricksFowlerBricks Member Posts: 1,731
@MaffyD: No, it's just the fact that the Imperial Grand Admiral sitting on the toilet, reading a datapad, is not one of the things a Stormtrooper sees on a regular basis.

^^ Ordered 4 of each cat...1 of each for me, 1 of each to be put away, 1 of each for each of my 2 boys. Received 4 of each of the first 2, but only 1 tiger. Called LEGO and they are sending me the missing 3 plus 1 extra tiger because, and I quote, "since you ordered 4, they surely expected to travel as a group of 4, we can't just send you 3, they would be all sorts of confused." Providing great customer experiences is not hard, but so few companies get it right. Luckily, LEGO is one of the few.

Or, they could just just employ staff that could count properly....

I made a large Bricks & Pieces order a couple of years ago, but when it arrived there was loads of it missing (but it did include some random minifigure parts, easy to confuse in a sea of 10179 bits, apparently).

They sent me a second top-up order with the remaining parts apart from 8 large plates; I contacted them again and they sent 6, oh how I chuckled....at that point I admitted defeat and headed towards Bricklink!

I gave Lloyd a 1970 Monte Carlo. What many people don't know is that when he is not causing the shark apocalypse in Ninjago City, Lord Garmadon drives a Ford, so his rebellious son drives a Chevy.

^^ not sure about ironing. It's the work of the devil and should not be attempted (ever) unless in dire emergency, ie. those sails are needed for a job interview. ;)

You ever have those moments where you have a BL order coming, but end up taking stuff apart for something anyway? That's what happened with this Lykan Hypersport.

Now a minifigure gets to drive a car that in real life, costed $3.4 million dollars+only seven were produced. Yay.

FINALLY finished my Batman Beyond batmobile!  Got gifted a Batman Movie "Speedwagon" which had a bunch of parts that enabled me to rebuild it.  It's much sturdier now than my original design, and I was able to incorporate missile launchers and a trap door so Terry can drop out of the bottom like he did in the show.

Need 8 more figures to complete the LEGO Ninjago Movie CMF series, wound up with three duplicates so far that I haven't opened, should I return or resell??? I'm actually wondering if returning them is like a faux pas or something, I've never done it before, but I've usually opened everything before without bothering to ascertain whose inside via the feel method... so I'm slightly conflicted.

^ As long as you're not opening them up and returning them, or tearing them apart in the aisle - I would just return them.  I certainly wouldn't feel guilty about it.

There are no Toys R Us shops in Ireland and I just know the 4 figures will be expensive to get on Bricklink or elsewhere.
TRU UK do free shipping to Ireland on orders over £20 or something like that. So if it shows up there it will be easy enough to get, and at retail prices. I might get a couple myself...

I want, nay need the Batman in a money suit...and the bunny suit!
It says 2 of 4, meaning they will have three more? I can't wait, hopefully most of them are Batman variants!
