Came across my half built Caterham 7 last night, so finished it.

^ I ended up with 5 of those. Planning to have all three built at the time and store the rest :-)

Finished Town Hall yesterday. Cool build, and it is indeed tall! It's next to GBHQ and the hall's bell tower is actually higher than the firehouse.

Uses some funky techniques for decoration outside, but the chairs are all a bit flimsy in my opinion, just about all using a single stud to sit on the floor...

Gah! Stickers! This is just one step:

Luckily, the completed model is really good looking:

I told myself I needed to rebuild my Black Pearl (hasn't been rebuilt since sophomore year of high school)Spent 10 1/2 hours rooting through the ENTIRE collection of pieces, and built it with some modifications. So now it can join Suspiria Academy and Ardis Hall on my bookshelf! (And yes, that is an octopus on the stern. Because it looked cooler :) )

Your Phoenix looks odd.   That piece of cardboard is supposed to be permanently attached to her feet...

(I wonder - any chance we get a new Phoenix with the upcoming X-Men film?)
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,579
^ I don't think Marvel will license anything they don't completely own - the film versions of the x men are owned by Fox.

Ha, I'm glad the card I got is a little banged up.  Makes it easier for me to remove and handle without guilt.  I sure can't afford any more SDCC X-Men releases.  Screw that Deadpool Duck.

Due to the warm reception to my 75827 - Firehouse Headquarters (Mini Modular) I've decided to continue the series with another Mini Modular.

This week I started working on my 10230 - Mini Modulars interpretation of 70620 - Ninjago City from The LEGO Ninjago Movie (2017). Full Reveal September 1st! (Which gives me enough time finalise the model and source the parts in time for the official launch date of the larger model).

Built the new Carousel yesterday. As in the Brickset review, I also have more leftie (6 to be exact) than rightie 40379 Tip Of The Tail Ø6,47 parts. So 3 of my assemblies have an "ugly" hole showing.

Close, but no cigar - is this something CS would help me with or should I just try to forget this issue and ignore it? :)

    I built the eclipse...

Is this black, or very, very, very dark gray?

I hesitated when I got it last year as I did not know it was minifigure-scale.
I really liked the build and look of the set; regret not getting another copy for the helicopter.

Turns out I was overly ambitious last night. Also forgot that Game Of Thrones was on. So I managed to sort the pieces (no numbered bags!) and left it at that. But couldn't get the nagging feeling that I should've built something out of my head, so I did this whilst watching:

The engine cover at the back is really well engineered for the scale, and the whole thing looks really good despite the curves of the real car being impossible to represent perfectly in Lego form...

@sid3windr Whether it's sweet depends on what you make with it ;)
Certainly makes sure your stomach gets filled!

Tried to build #31039 a few nights ago. I got this far:

Surprising number of colours in a mainly blue and white model! Of course, they're all inside...

  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,579
But I did manage to build this:

And with the secret function in the set (don't open unless you want to know what these sets can do):

Apologies for the quality of the photos - I'm trying to keep them at a small size so they're not annoying to load.

^Great set. Temple of Airjitzu and now Ninjago City have convinced me to add a traditional Chinatown or cyberpunk-Asian fusion Chinatown to my city... One day. When I have cash. :)

^thats exactly my intention. Ninjago city is next; I plan on having an oriental area of town.

In addition to my attempt to modernize #6646, I also want to build this:

I have a good amount of the parts already. Placed a BL order for the rest.

Decided after a year (and buying a second one during this years visit) it was time to build the LEGOLAND exclusive train #40166....

....my daughter had other ideas and built it before I had a chance to get involved, though!

Having visited the Lego House last week was a good motivation to build the corresponding #4000010 set:

I would have liked to have been able to pick up the new colourful #21037 version, but this one will have to do until my next trip to Billund!

About to start bag 3 of #70322, Axl's Tower Carrier. So far I've built the monster and the rotating tower, and it's struck me as a really excellent parts pack that I would've had a lot of fun with even if I hadn't been so keen on the official model...

Got a bit further on the Power Jet today:

I have a feeling that some mirror image repetition of steps will be forthcoming very shortly...

Including extraneous detail as I know @SumoLego likes analysing these. Sorry it's not more interesting though.

After seeing @bandit778 Speederbike piloted BMW and having gained a constraction Jango Fett in a recent FB bargain haul. It seemed the perfect solution to a cramped display shelf....

As a game for the reader, spot the piece I got wrong and where it should be...

Current WIP is a modernized #6646

I still need to add the side pipes and printed tiles that the set came with. Those are in an incoming BL order.
