Future Star Wars Buildable Figures

VaderFan2187VaderFan2187 Member Posts: 15
As someone who likes the Star Wars CCBS figures, I was wondering what characters the community would like to see in Star Wars CCBS form.

My own choices would include a Guavian Death Gang member, Boba Fett, a new Rey with her hair this time, Jar Jar Binks (sorry >.<), a Battle Droid, Count Dooku, Yoda, Leia, and Han Solo.

What would be your picks? :)

    Answer: HK-47

Query: Are there any odds of the happening though?

    Optimistic Answer: Yes

I would be down for an R2-D2 or BB-8 at that scale. Or Slave Leia. :P

Somewhat related, but I'd like to get another proper Lego R2-D2, and maybe include a C-3PO to go along with him.

Since we're getting a Scout Trooper and Speeder, I'm hopeful we get some more "packaged" sets like that. I only own one of the figures (Jyn, because she was $5), but I would buy an R2/3PO pack in a second.

    That would be fantastic, meatbag.

I got a whole bundle of the buildable figures awhile back because they were dirt cheap in a big lot on eBay. I really onlt wanted grievous but $20 for him and 4 others I couldn't down. However the new scout trooper on the speeder I actually am very excited for. It's probably my second favorite set from the 2017 summer sets. It's looks really good and it would fit on a shelf with UCS OT sets. I would like to see sets like the scout trooper that have more than just the figure. The figures on their own seem to be really meh, which is understandable as most of the figures are main characters who don't fit well with another object. I also think a Darth maul with a torso that is for the most part without gaps and legs that are metallic and technic with no plates covering (like the clone wars maul) would be really cool.

Clone Wars/Rebels Maul would be fantastic. Other good options could be Snowtrooper with an E-web or a Battle Droid on a Stap.

HK-47: Statement: HK-47 is ready to serve, master.
Revan: You don't need to call me master, you know.
HK-47: Query: Don't I? I was under the assumption that organic meatbags such as yourself enjoyed such forms of address.
    Revan: "Organic meatbags"?
HK-47: Retraction: Did I say that out loud? I apologize, master. While you are a meatbag, I suppose I should not call you as such.
Revan: You just called me a meatbag again!
HK-47: Explanation: It's just that... you have all these squishy parts, master. And all that water! How the constant sloshing doesn't drive you mad, I have no idea...
Revan: Neither do I, come to think of it...
HK-47: Statement: Now do you understand the travails of my existence, master? Surely it does not compare to your existence, but still...
    Revan: I survive. Somehow.
HK-47: Commentary: As do I. It is our lot in life, I suppose, master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer ourselves up?

(Best conversation in the entire game, well maybe except the one with the woman and her droid if you have Bastila and Carth with you)

: You are just a travelling piece of bad luck, aren't you?
HK-47: Objection: Master, that is so unfair! Have I not brought you a great deal of satisfaction?
Revan: You don't want to hear the answer to that.
HK-47: Statement: You are a very harsh master, master. I like you.

Would this be a good set to get?

I think it's cheaper than that when it gets released. Certainly when you take postage into account. The question is really, 'can you wait another three weeks to save some money'?

Also, I see the contradiction with the statement 'the set will ship immediately within 2-3 business days'. Huh?
  • fourstudfourstud Member Posts: 1,370
The retail price is $34.99 so you wouldn't really be saving much except shipping ^

The Toys R Us eBay page had all the sets up for purchase this week. I know some friends who bought some but I haven't heard if they shipped or not...

@CM4S ah but that ebay listing is on bids, not buy it now. He'll never get it for $35 on that listing.

Boba Fett with Han frozen in Carbonite as a larger set like the speeder bike one. Then additional bounty hunters IG-88, Dengar, Zuckuss, Bossk, 4-LOM & Greedo.

Looking at some leaks online we might be seeing Boba and Darth Maul
  • Ayrton1310Ayrton1310 Member Posts: 39
I'd love to see Darth Maul come to be!
  • FowlerBricksFowlerBricks Member Posts: 1,731
@Ayrton1310: your wish has come true. Darth Maul is indeed going to be in the next wave. As is Boba Fett and another Darth Vader with a removable helmet.
  • LyichirLyichir Member Posts: 1,009
Slowly but surely they seem to be covering a lot of the character's I'd been most hoping for. Ones I'd still love to see include:

    R2-D2 and C-3PO
    Yoda
    Droideka/Destroyer Droid
    Princess Leia
  • FowlerBricksFowlerBricks Member Posts: 1,731
@Lyichir: not in the next wave, anyway. Yoda would be nice, though...

I'm surprised that they haven't been made yet, considering (I think) that R2 is the most recognisable character in Star Wars

I'll echo the Captain Rex post. They made a Commander Cody but not a Captain Rex? I'm not into the buildable figures but I would definitely consider Rex.

I would like a Endor based Leia and/or Ewok to fit the 75532 Speeder Bike.

If they could make all of these guys with different accessories, I'd be in for the set!

The new Darth Vader next year is really unneeded. So what if he has a removable helmet? I prefer a nice build worthy of the character, and the 2015 set offered that. Why another, inferior one? Especially this soon...

I might be the only one who thinks this, but I'd be glad to be proven wrong!

Boba and Maul, on the other hand? *Thor voice* YES!

Considering they had these two (#9748 and #10225) for R2 and #65081 for both, not sold that they would do them again any time soon.

Why would a Mindstorms set, a System UCS set, and a Technic set from over a decade and a half ago rule out getting these two main characters in the scale and style of these CCBS/Technic buildable figures for the first time ever? Especially with the characters appearing in any number of System sets over the years, and not one but two Darth Vaders since the start of this buildable figures series two years ago.

I have a few of these, but they are all either droids or have helmets, I just can't get into the human faces they do.  I don't know what it is about them.

I hear you. And I think it's still possible to see an R2-D2 and/or C3-P0 in this series. They are fan favorites. But there are so many other characters they can explore, especially ones that have recurring roles in TFA and the two others coming out in the trilogy, not to mention the solo movies and RO. Ultimately, what will sell often dictates what they will make. And if the two droids rate well in their look and build, we'll probably see them in this series.

I don't know, I'd much prefer to see R2 or C-3PO on my shelf than some new character that was killed off in their first appearance in Star Wars (e.g. Jyn Erso/ Chirrut Imwe/ Saw Gerrera). Saying that I do still appreciate them and have them all already but people want R2 and 3PO. Sets #9748 & #10225 don't look like the current buildable figures and their design/building techniques are much different, it's like saying there won't be the two droids because they're already in minifig form. Although #650801 looks similar to the buildable figures it isn't a great looking set and I for one have no interest in it.

The buying public seem to agree too, based on how cheap some of these are almost continuously at amazon and other stores.

Yeah, I got Jyn Erso, K-2SO, Chirrut Imwee and Saw Gerrara a couple weeks back for around €30. That's insane considering they should be €25 a pop

Where did you get the Saw Gerrera from?

For me, the problem with the faces isn't the faces themselves, it's the lack of a neck. This is disguised somewhat on the figures with helmets. Fortunately, they seem to have realised and changed that in the new line.

Actually, come to think of it, I wouldn't mind a Saw Gerrera set. Robot legs? Forest Whitaker head? Sure, he got killed off, but still... could make an awesome figure.
