27410. My hometown of Greensboro, NC.
And while I snapped up the remaining few Spider-Man and U-Wing sets, they probably had 12 or 15 Catwoman sets left. If I weren't heading on a trip soon, I would have nabbed a few more.

Trying to return #70908 bought at $64 today.  The Walmart staff at the entrance put a label on the set marked as $30.  Ask the Customer Service if I can return with $64 and purchase back at $30.  I am expecting the answer is no.  Surprisingly, the staff just says I have to wait 3-5 days for full refund and without other issue.  Finally I have collect most of the Batman Movie sets at a clearance price.  What a lucky day!

    Also found:
    #41144 $3
    #41143 $2
    #41303 $2
    #41304 $2

Went on a wild goose chase for a $20 two fave demolition at a close by Wal-Mart.  The  Wal-Mart app said limited stock, but may not have updated as I couldn't find it.  Also called a Wal-Mart that allegedly had the ultimate batmobile for $50, but they couldn't find it on the shelf.  Not worth the 2 hour round trip drive.  Oh well.  The walmart app giveth, and the walmart app taketh away.

Grabbed the last Encounter on Jakku for $30 today at Burnsville. Also saw Poe's X-wing for $49 in the clearance aisle, but I already have two.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,567
...They have reset the toy department but apparently didn't have enough space for all the Lego. A bunch of sets are in an overflow area in the next aisle. Some clearance (all constraction), and some regular priced, all with no shelf tags. Friends and Elves sets are now in the same aisle as the rest of the Lego, except for the above mentioned overflow.

Got a #41179 Queen Dragon Rescue for $35, in a clearance aisle in the toy section. rest of stereotypically girl LEGO has been moved around, in a small section at the end of an aisle. still have #41180 ragana's magic shadow castle for $49

Was able to get a clayface for $15 and also two CMF Rocket Kid but didn't find any other deals in the Lego aisle and thought that was a good enough find despite all the other deals being wiped out.

    Or or so I thought.

On the way to pick up paper towels I passed a couple back to school aisles and found a small jackpot. They had moved all the sale boxes to another location.

Proceeded to get the ultimate bat mobile for $100 and the forge for $30.

They also had a lot of x wings of both blue and orange on sale along with 3 more forges. They even had a stray beat up Turtle Lair Invasion set for $40.

I forgot to pick up the paper towels.

found the last one The LEGO Batman Movie - Super Pack (66546) for $21,  not sure if i want it,  but WTH,  just bought it first and decide later.  also there are two more ultimate Batmobile for 99,  it is at the Pleasanton Store in SF Bay Area
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,838
Yeah, it is unfortunate that The ultimate Batmobile was sold out around here for that price, same with the Scuttler for 30, but Ill just have to hope I see those prices later around Thansgiving on Amazon, or Jet.

    That's my hope too.

As WM was the only outlet to really drop the prices on the sets this low, it means TRU, Amazon, etc. still have healthy stocks to go through.

Bloomington store had a LOT of Lego in the clearance aisle today, mostly Friends and SHG, several U-Wings. Unfortunately, the prices weren't that great. The only really good deal was #41233 Lashina Tank for $5, which I grabbed.

Went back to a local Walmart today to see if they had lowered some prices on their TLBM sets, and to see if the five Captain Rex's AT-TE sets that they have had sitting on the shelf for several months for $60 had been dropped further.  No luck on any of the TLBM sets, and of course they had moved the AT-TE sets to the clearance section.  Still $60.  All gone.  So the glamour of being in the clearance section makes people buy them within a week after being on the shelves for months?  Are we just sheep?

Decided to try my luck at a local store while on vacation this week. A very off the beaten path type store. I figured they'd either have a ton of stuff, or nothing.

My first glance of the clearance aisle got my hopes up for my first mega haul. Set after set with that beautiful clearance sticker on them. Star Wars, Batman, Friends, City, Super Hero, Disney, it seemed too good to be true.

I grabbed the first set (a small Batman set) and saw the clearance price was $1 less than normal retail. Undeterred, I picked up the next set... marked at clearance with the normal retail price. I looked at about 20 more sets, all with prices at retail, or $1-$3 below retail.

That's when I decided to scan everything per the suggestions I've ran across here. I had a cart FULL of sets, including the bottom level. Everything scanned the same as the sticker. Utter disappointment. The only deal i found was The Phantom for $10...but I'm not a big follower of SW Rebels.

I ended up scanning a regularly priced Y-Wing Attack and saw it came to $30. I was too disappointed that I didn't even get that (although I'm pretty sure my wife went back and got it for me for my birthday).

I'll just keep repeating in my head, "Next time. Next time."

    *sigh*

Save yourself some time: download the Walmart app and scan with your phone.

It's easier than loading up a cart and returning each box...

^Returning each box!? Why nnot just abandon the cart by the scanner and make the store people put them back?

J/k - I usually put everything back and even try to organize the shelves better.

I just got a notification from Brickseek that #75178 Jakku Quadjumper was now $25… and that the store was out of stock. If anyone else was looking for that one at a bargain price, though, it might be worth keeping an eye out.

Yup. Do it every time. I'll sometimes even organize the CMFs in the case. The Walmart employees just don't give Lego enough respect! :)

Is it a common thing for Walmart to move sale items out from the lego aisle and put them on shelves elsewhere in the store? And to follow up on that, if so, where do they put them?

Depends on the store, but many near me in Virginia move them to a clearance isle mixed in with all the other stuff they are trying to get rid of.  The location of said isle varies from store to store.  (This goes for clearance items, not normal rollback price reductions)
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,833
^Definitely varies from store to store, or even within one store. Locally one moves all the clearance LEGO to a clearance aisle with unrelated stuff, another moves some one aisle over to a small clearance section just for toys. The third moves some to general clearance, some to endcaps, and some gets left with the rest of the full-price LEGO.

    #76056 $15
#70902 $5. Two were of the tearaway variety. One was of the taped box set-up. And one of the rang up as $1 using their app bar code scanner. Weird.
