^^^ 7931 is only 50% off at select Walmart stores. I only saw it on sale at 1 of the 8 stores I went to this weekend. $42 for the set is still a pretty good deal if someone really wanted that set; it's really not worth driving around to out of the way Walmarts just to try to save $12 on one set.

Just ordered the Forest Police station from B&N for $73.54 with shipping to me. So kinda saved like 20-25 bucks. Was too late to grab the Super Heroes from B&N so hopefully will see those again over there.

Struck out at 2 Walmarts and a Target. Then found a Mack's Team Truck for 1.99 at Kmart.

Good toy fairs at Buxton and Bolton, Harrogate, York and Doncaster are fairly local to me. Doncaster is huge And always well attended but I have managed to pick up some reall good bargains there in the past. Next one is 24th March I think, at Doncaster racecourse.

I live very near the NEC, and I believe there is a toy collector fair their next week. Might take a little look.
  • CoyotelilyCoyotelily Member Posts: 661
I have only been to one toy fair at the NEC but I did buy a bin full of Lego for £25 there. I think my best Lego buy at a toy fair was HP Hungarian horntail and Graveyard dual £40 the pair, but I do seem to be able to pick up all sorts, mini figures, older components etc.

I picked up 10178 Motorized AT-AT today on craigslist for $50. A couple of the bags were open, but all minifigs and other pieces present. Motor components were still in sealed bags. Box was a little torn but instructions are perfect. Very nice chap selling, he threw in a 4 pound bag of assorted and clean city / SW pieces, including some nice large boards. Well worth the drive.

^ Nice find! I saw the ad - I think you managed to talk him down a bit! And it's about time you got a decent Craigslist buy!
  • I saw that ad as well last night, but just didn't have the time to go pick it up. Nice score.

I found the box for Command Center 493 in my mom's attic today. It is in really good shape, considering it was just thrown up there some 30 years ago. I went through and pieced out the set and am only missing a few pieces.

I am sure that there is more up there, I just can't get to half of the stuff.

I finally have a great find for this thread. I got a Taj Mahal, used, but in great condition, with the instructions (no box) for $150. The set looks complete, but I haven't had time to inventory the ~6K pieces. When I have time one of these days I'll take it apart and re-build it.

  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
^ Yeah, I am really happy with it. Too bad there's no where for me to display it.

^I have plenty of space. Just send it over, I'll take care of the shipping. Just kidding.

Picked up a LEGO Cafe used with both instruction booklets for $141 total USD today! Got both UCS sets, NIB for $635 the other day too, 10129, 10019!
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
    10182 Cafe Corner?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
Yes, the Cafe Corner set, 10182.
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
Wow $141 is a definite steal. Have you seen the prices on BrickLink? They are crazy! May I ask where you got it from? Craigslist? Ebay?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
No, I have not seen the prices on bricklink. If I can scrounge up the funds, guy says he will sell me the Green Grocer too for an additional $100. So working on that right now!
Got it off eBay, talked to the guy when he listed the marketplace and we worked out a price.
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
Well, you sir got a very, very good deal. The lowest used set is going for $800 on BL. And make sure you take that Green Grocer as well, is is cheaper than the Cafe Corner, but still a steal at $200.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
Sweet! Thanks for the info! Certainly want to get it. Just low on PayPal funds. Trying to sell off one of my many LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett's to get some cash. Even had to list one of my Chrome C-3POS which I hate to do... if you want anything LEGO let me know, guy has to have the $100 by tonight.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
^ Just a caution... Those prices are not just "deals", they are WAY below the market... Not saying they aren't real, but the guy wants the money quickly and he is doing this off auction, is he not?

Make sure you pay via "goods" payment, don't save him the fee and do a personal payment, no protection there.

I would buy the sets he is selling for twice the price, so something doesn't pass the smell test here.

Just trying to be helpful... :)
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
Thanks LegoFanTexas. Yes we did it off eBay, and yes I paid through "goods". Have had way to many negative experiences with PayPal and eBay to not do it that way.
Seriously though, if anyone is looking for a LEGO Jango Fett let me know, still trying to scrounge up the $100, my wallet is really thin right now.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
Let me buy it from him and I'll pay you a finder's fee. :)

What Lego do you have to sell? How much do you want for the Chrome C-3PO? Is that one of the limited edition 10,000 units?

    Send me a PM...
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
Can I jump in and ask what a fair price for the Chrome C-3PO would be these days? I also need some cash, and I'm sitting on two of them...
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
Bricklink listing prices start at $150 USD and eBay is comparable but with a higher average sale price around $200 USD.

I don't know if you need to slighter lower your asking price because yours have been sat upon, though ;P
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
    Cafe Corner....for.....$141......used condition......damn.....*faints*.........

  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
A NISB Chrome C-3PO usually sells around $230 average. An open mint one is around $200.
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
My Chrome C-3PO's are sealed. Oh my. Selling one will buy me a Town Hall. That's just absurd.

Not anything special but I grabbed a 15 lb lot off ebay for $55 shipped a week or so ago and it came last night. Pretty much fills a 50qt container. Went through it quickly and found about 30 or so minifigs and based on a few parts it looks like it has a 6209 slave 1 and a 8036 seperatist shuttle. It also had 2 different power function battery boxes, couple motors and some cables. Pretty happy overall, will have to finish going through it, sort it and see what I can put together.

@LegoTexasFan- I have almost all the minifigures, but duplicates of all the rare ones. Have about 20 Jango Fetts, 4 Cloud City Boba, 10 Chrome C-3POs (4 are sealed, 6 are not sealed). Let me know if you're interested. I'm new to the brickset forums, don't know how to send a PM or whatever. I also have about 40 sets I'm looking to sell, I can send you pictures if you like. Would need an E-mail. Thanks

@Duchessa- Average sale price of a chrome C-3PO New in bag is $250 +, out of bag ones typically go for about $180+. However, there are fluctuations in the market, as I have seen an out of bag one go for $225, and have sold one myself for $195.

I would really like a chrome C-3P0 but the prices they go for these days are just crazy. I mean it is just a chromed minifig and I simply cannot justify spending that much. I guess I should have bought one a couple of years ago when I first came out of my dark ages. C'est la vie, Cloud City Boba keeps me happy!

Maybe one day I will find one in a charity shop or at a car boot sale.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Personally, I don't get any of the "collecting" aspects of Lego -- meaning buying sets/minifigs just to have. I'm either reselling or enjoying the sets. Other than driving a nice car ;) I just look at having something valuable as idle money.

As a seller, however, I am very grateful for those who do not feel the same as me :P

They are just chromed, but the style is very nice, my thumbnail or "profile picture" is actually a Chrome C-3PO. And the fact that there are only 10,000, makes them extra special! The prices are rather outrageous though, takes a lot for me to find one that's worth buying at a decent price. Cloud City Boba Fett is my personal favorite! Love that figure! Actually have one coming in the mail today!

Was able to get Happy Holidays Game (2010-2), new/sealed, for $50.

Glad I got mine when I did. Demand for these has apparently gone up a little. ;)

It's not a bad deal considering the seller *is* throwing in free shipping for you. However, I think I've grown tired of mine and can one-up this deal by offering mine up at $100 less than the starting bid for this one, and not only will it be free shipping - I'll hand deliver it. Any takers?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
Tempting... let me think about it ;-)

If you get the girl from the Town Hall video to hand deliver it, and spend the week here (playing with Lego, of course), I'll consider it. ;)

@bahnstormer - You found all that recently? Really? Where? Those Star Wars Technic sets are a decade old! A lot of that stuff is really old...

    Very cool!

@bahnstormer, is the Ninjago banner up for offer? Would love to have that for the kids. Also interested in the 7739 if available and the price is right.
