^that happened to me too on my last order. I'm going to call customer service when I get a chance and see what they say.

Finally called customer service, and they said bricks and pieces don't apply for the promotion. They were nice enough to send my the promo as a one time thing.

Never did get out to the store about the BrickHeadz Wonder Woman, but wasn't hugely interested anyway.
Cave couple set looks cure especially if I see anything remotely interesting to get to $50
Got a Ninjago sticker sheet in my last shipment a couple months ago, maybe sticker throw in is new standard practice.
maybe Bricks & Pieces counted for promo in US but nto Canada for some reason.

I'm not sure at this point if it is just THAT popular, or people still think that they can try to get higher than retail for a set that obviously is still made.
Maybe a bit of both. Im sure that it is popular, but really being sold out overnight?

I got mine on day 1 and built it that same day. I liked it so much more during/after building it that I want to get a second one. The excuse: I want one displayed vertical to show the majestic/imposing size, and one to show in stages on the bases; or one for home and another one for the office... uhm... might need 4 now ;-)

Maybe others are on a similar boat and that contributes to being out of stock?

I am waiting until its "steady" in stock before I get the 2nd one; give others that do not have it a chance to get it.

Definitely I am going to "rock one, stock one".

Was able to order it via [email protected] and now I am looking forward to building it!

Same here. I want another, but I have at least one so I can afford to wait.

Few sets added to the sales.  I ordered the Ark ham asylum for $120 which is enough for the double freebies.

Some interesting sets on sale though, Toy shop for 64 is nice as is, IMO, the new Batman Movie Two face set for 48.

Also, check your local stores (if you have them) as the Adventure time 'maxi' figure type box is only 31.99, at least it was at the Schaumburg LEGO store today

hey, has anyone ever asked Lego to price match?  Just wondering...
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
Just came back from my local LEGO store:

    - Super Hero Girls sets 20%. Grabbed #41231 (already have the rest of the first wave)
    - #30116 and #30398 polybags $4.99 ea. First time this store sells polybags. Grabbed 3 of ea.

PaB wall has #4211725 Plate 4X6 26 Degrees medium stone grey

Grabbed other stuff to meet the $99 requirement for the two freebies.
Might order the Ferrari F40 online to get extra freebies.
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
    ^ Correction:

At least the #41231 Harley Quinn to the Rescue set is 30% off.

The physical stores will generally price match LEGO.com.

LEGO.com will unofficially price match if you recently made a purchase and the price went down. It's not an official policy but they usually will. Just email them.

Sale on Arkham Asylum made me cave :)  Got the snowglobe (my third) but no other freebies. Also threw in two more birthday decorations at half off - can't resist those macaroni bricks!

That link didn't include the sets (for me at least). Their filter function is so screwed up. Most of the time simply trying to go to the next page of results refuses to work :(

They should make everyone internally at TLG use it. Then it would get cleaned up.

Looks like some sets are coming up with double VIP points, specifically The Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon. Anyone know what the deal is?

I ordered 2 sets from the TLNM line and get double points for them. I didn't try any other theme.

    All month? Ugh. So tempting...

Then again a lot of these sets will be 25%+ off regularly in due time, like TLBM stuff.

Online-only; or at least my local LEGO store did not know about it.

If it is all month, I will wait until a promo is available and pull the trigger then.

@Astrobricks Like if Congress had the same health coverage as the rest of us, that industry would get fixed quick

As for 2x VIP on TLNM - in general, good sales by TLG standards often don't compare well to what's found elsewhere.
I'll likely get just enough for the cave couple pack come the 10th. not sure what the build to learn pack even is. I doubt the cave couple will be gone by the 20th, but not gonna chance it.

Way off topic, I know, but actually the ACA says that they do have to use the exchanges. So, that worked great :-/

The problem is these Senators and Congressmen can afford the cost, whatever the cost, given what they make. I say make every Senator or Congressman spend 1 year being under the poverty level and then maybe some things in this country would be fixed. Maybe they would finally get what it is like to have to make choices like 'Do I pay the electric bill, or buy food?'. Wait, this is the US govt.. never mind.

Back on topic. thebrickfan.com put up the Sept calendar and the 1st-3rd I believe the Scarif Polybag will be available for purchases of 50 or over, along with double points, on Star Wars sets (not sure if you have to buy 50 USD in SW sets to get the figure, or if it is any 50 USD purchase)

Just like healthcare, I'm not sure if the ordinary person know how it - and the code and programs behind for Lego's website - works.
    They're just end users.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,441
I know the code behind Lego's web site often doesn't work!
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
It seems to me that not everybody knows that LEGO publishes next month's calendar the first of the month; as in the September calendar on August 1st:

    https://www.lego.com/en-us/stores/

You will also noticed that there will be two early VIP access sets mid-September; presumably Winter Village and UCS MF... we'll see.
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
^I know about the calendar online - I use it to plan my Lego store or [email protected] purchases when there is a good freebie or double points.

The only problem is the print is so small on my screen I ave trouble reading the dates:(

Try downloading the PDF version, you can see everything clearly there... and keep it for posterity if that's your thing ;-)
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,335
I keep current and next month calendar PDFs on Desktop. I don't put them in my LEGO folder, since I don't plan to keep them and feel no need to back it up like the rest of the folder.
I knew the next month's calendar was available at the link @JooTog mentioned, but I didn't know it was uploaded right on the first.

1st-3rd the Scarif Stormtrooper fig does require a $50 *Star Wars* purchase.

    TLNM
poster with any Ninjago purchase 4th-30th
small brick built dragon with $35 purchase 4th-21st
special Lloyd minifig with $50 purchase 22nd - October 8th

1st time I've seen promo availabiltiy go into the next month. TLG made a point of the promo set dates not overlapping

Am I correct to presume that if I order a set that's on backorder I may not receive the "free" item? It would be nice if they just shipped it separately like they did with R2D2 (but that was not a backorder in my case).

Also, I'm a bit surprised that the cave couple was added with a set costing $49.99. I was sure I would need to spend another penny to qualify.
  • RakulRakul Member Posts: 183
^ I noticed the same, I ended up splitting my order in two because I wanted two sets at $49.99 each.  Supposedly ended up with two GIP, now my daughter can have her own.

I believe you will receive the item just as long as you order within the time frame, have paid for it, and the promotion is still in supply (at the time of your order).
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
Thanks @77ncaachamps! I will probably play it safe and add an in stock item to the order so they will ship that & the promo right away.

^ Yes, I usually add a clearance keychain and they ship the promo and the keychain right away.
  • MegtheCatMegtheCat Member Posts: 500
Well, the #70612 I ordered yesterday & which at the time was backordered until 25 August, is now showing as "in warehouse."  What a pleasant surprise! I ordered it for the double VIP points on certain TLNM sets this month. Because driving to the actual Lego Store in this heat is too awful.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,761
I wierd thing is that when it is nice out, and even warmer than usual, the malls around me typically have less people, not more, in them (but yet the parking lot still appears to be loaded)
