Its also amazing how large some of these sets are becoming, #75190 will be the 3rd 1400 + normal retail set this year after #70917 & #70357.

70918 Destiny's Bounty has 2,295 pieces and is a normal retail set.

^ Wow seen it didn't think it would be that big, odd that Batman movie didn't get a 2000+ set but Ninjago got two.

But 170 euros is not that normal.

    75176 ????? - 294 pieces
    75177 ??????? - 554 pieces - 59,99 Euro
    75179 Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter - 630 pieces - 79,99 Euro
    75187 BB-8 - 1106 pieces - 99.99 euros
    75188 Resistance Bomber - 778 pieces - 109,99 euros
    75189 First Order Heavy Assault Walker - 1376 pieces - 139,99 Euro
    75190 First Order Star Destroyer - 1416 pieces - 149,99 Euro

    75526 ???? ??? - 94 pieces - 19,99 Euro
    75528 ?????? - 85 pieces - 24,99 Euro
    75529 ????? ?????- 92 pieces - 24,99 Euro
    75530 ??????????? - 179 pieces - 34,99 Euro

Are those prices confirmed as well? As #75188 looks like lousy value for money, as do most of those constraction sets (but that's normal for that range, isn't it)?

  • stluxstlux LuxembourgMember Posts: 2,148
@MaffyD Promobricks has this info from an online shop which has these sets already listed. So technically that shop could have listed the wrong RRP's, but more likely it's correct.

Keep in mind that these are the German RRP prices, so some of these sets might actually be more expensive elsewhere.

The price for #75188 seems in line with what they are asking for the recently released #75191. That one has 825 pieces for the same RRP, but #75188 has 1 more minifig and likely more larger pieces.

Long story short: I'll definitely wait for a +40% discount before buying these.

Prices for the constraction figures are in line with the current ones. Keep in mind that those have on average rather large pieces, and very few, if any,  1x1 plates... They are also frequently discounted heavily, so no need to buy at RRP :)

^ Yep, agreed (and matches up with what's on the main site news article). And don't worry about me buying these at RRP - I only buy stuff from IV-VI. I was just interested in why there is one set that appears to be wrongly priced (tons of minifigs, large pieces, light bricks, exclusives, whatever).

One of the rumored new sets is Yoda's Hut. It looks like the non- Hoth portions of ESB are finally getting some love.

It also sounds like they are moving away from battle packs as army builders and toward battle packs with unique figures. One is a Tatooine pack and another is a Jedi pack. Quite interesting.

Okay...... The last few TLJ sets are pretty disappointing - that Resistance Pod is literally just the cockpit from the Troop Transport. BB-8, on the other hand, is sorely tempting. Except I'd need an R2 to go with him...

I like that someone finally redesigned the Star Destroyer without the snub-fighter magnet bridge.

I'm sure many children will be very happy at Christmastime with their Last Jedi Lego sets.

(Noticably absent - another version of the Millennium Falcon.)

Can someone please tell me where and when poly-bags get released. I have found two recently on eBay (Scarif Shoretrooper and R3-M2) that I didn't even know we released selling for way too much.

I just want to find out who is selling it for the right price so I can get mine...

Do it ever say why they're released and for who?

  • stluxstlux LuxembourgMember Posts: 2,148
@Bromwich There's no standard procedure for the release of polybags. To generalize, there's 3 main scenarios:
    1. Very general release, with availability at most toy stores (TRU, Smyths etc) and supermarkets.
    2. Made available only for a limited release.
    3. Limited release at first, but more readily available later. #5004929 Batman Battle Pod is a good example: at first only available at some Lego Certified Stores in Asia, then some LDC's, and now after some months seemingly everywhere.
Both #40176 Scarif Stormtrooper and #40268 R3-M2 seem closer to scenario 3.
R3-M2 started showing up in early January in Romania. In May TLG Europe then gave it for free with any Star Wars purchase. R3-M2 can now be had for GBP 9 on Bricklink.
The Scarif Stormtrooper first showed up at the end of May. Currently rather expensive on BL/eBay, but likely will get a much wider release later. Maybe GWP on [email protected] when the TLJ sets are released in September?

The usual disclaimer that I'm just a random person on the internet and that it's sometimes difficult to predict what TLG will do of course apply.

I recently learned that if you put an emoticon at the end of a long string of blatant lies, half-truths and material misrepresentations, then it magically makes all of it true!

And I apologize for acting like an attorney.  I sometimes forget that being a language technician (nitpicking!) is annoying.

^ It doesn't necessarily make it magically true, but it makes you magically forgivable when you turn out to inevitably be wrong.

Wow. Thank you. That was a nice summary. I will probably hold off paying an extortionate price on eBay for the moment then.

It just often seems as if someone has acquired a whole box of poly bags and they might not even be legit given I can't find them anywhere else.

As per usual, I can ignore these latest sets with the casual air of someone who refuses to accept anything happened after ROTJ. At least, that's what I tell myself when looking at my bank balance!

@MaffyD I'm starting to think that's a very wise move.

Having bought one of the Freemaker sets (#75145) recently I suddenly realised I didn't have a clue who they were and was only buying it because it was a good deal. (Plus Rowan seems to annoy me in the same way young Anakin does!)

Older figures and sets are now my priority, but we'll see how that goes.

^ Same here. I'm enjoying the ST and spinoffs, but the sets do nothing for me. The ships and characters just aren't iconic like the OT (and to some extent the PT too).
    MaffyDJackad7LEGO_Dad77
  • Matt89190Matt89190 UKMember Posts: 280
While the ships and characters from newer films definitely aren't as good (with the possible exception of the gorgeous U-Wing), I do like sets based on them because Lego really do try to go above and beyond, and sets often feel more polished as a result. I would still, however, choose a T-65 over a T-70 if I was given a choice between two sets designed to the same standard.

  • Diamondback_SixDiamondback_Six USAMember Posts: 75

And now you guys see why I stick to polybags and microfighters... keeps the collection small, easily managed, easy to chase down, and fun. (Other than Lego's glacially-slow release pace... with them having no "main" themes any more that interest me like Pirates, Trains, Jurassic Park who they keep flipping the bird even though the license covered EVERYTHING in the franchise, Indiana Jones... well, my household's annual purchases are down to Seasonals, the Winter Village set, the SW and maybe City advent calendars, PB's and MF's and the odd special case like the Saturn V.

Lego knows what they have to do if they want my money...

I am not sure how I am feeling about The Last Jedi first wave sets.  Some look interesting but some look bad.  But I guess they can only work with what they are shown.  At the very least I'll grab the transport.

I picked up the Bounty Hunter battle pack not to long ago. I can't even begin to express how happy I am that they made a 4-LOM minifigure! I added a 1x1 dark gray stud to the top of IG-88's head cause I couldn't stand the hole in the top of the upside down 1x1 cylinder.

With Star Wars Rebels ending after this season, does anyone think we'll see another Ghost set?  I missed it the first time (wasn't watching the show then) and now, after realizing how awesome the show is, want to pick one up and they have become... expensivish.

    Thoughts?
