    Currently only in br. red-violet.

Let's hope they make some in the greys.

I expected the H fence to appear in temple of the ultimate weapon, but it uses prison bars instead. maybe the H fences are inside.

That's a backpack scabbard that holds two swords. I don't think it's new though

Minecraft gives us golden apples, Ninjago gives us golden bananas, I think the next logical step is a golden sausage

Ah I see, didn't pick up either of them but yep, never mind about them being new with the ninjago movie. Don't recall them having been mentioned here yet.

It's definitely in the Ninjago City set

But now we need a 2x2 tile with a single stud in the corner so they can run seamlessly around the corner of a wall.

It's also in Black and LBG in the Ninjago City set.

The artist's palette is new in green, used as lily pads.

Is the flower stem new in Dark Brown? It's on the bonsai tree bit.

    sounds like a 2x2 corner tile + a 1x1 plate

Not if you want an overhang. The corner tile will fall off.

a regular 2x2 plate will work as a corner if attached from below the plate. If only attached from above then a new corner piece will be needed

Surprised that no-one has mentioned about that part that looks like a 1×1 round plate with a side stud in one of the Ninjago Movie sets?

@VorpalRyu I think someone did in the ninjago thread. I actually think it has a bar ( not a stud) protruding from it which is why the gold 1 x 1 polo stud can attach.

Edit: from this angle you can see its a bar entering the gold polo stud.

Could be one of the tool parts, but it does look like a possible new element.

In that case, the new tile is also unnecessary though. You could just use a 2x2 plate with a 2x1 tile and a 2x1 plate on top.

I didn't have a wrench to hand to try in real life, but in stud.io looks a bit longer than what we can see in the picture above. I'm not sure whether that's just down to the picture or real world tolerances though.

  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,268
I have at least 40 of them at home, I'll try to remember to have a go this evening.

Looking more closely though, I do think it's a new element. It's certainly an odd one.

The part is also visible on the bridge, holding the life rings on. From that picture it seems to have a hole in the center of the bar, though I can't quite tell if it's the right size to fit Friends-style accessories.

I'm nearly positive there is/was a similar MegaB**** piece for many years.  1x1 round plate with a bar out one side.  I remember sorting that out of used bulk because I knew it was "Flego".
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
@DadsAFOL, similar, yet different... M*gaBl*ks piece has the bar in line with the stud, while the TLG version looks to be offset slightly.

Oh yes, I'm very pleased about it! It's one part which I consistently think 'I wish we had that'. I'd have used at very least a dozen in my Palace of Westminster, and possibly hundreds (I used a lot of 1x2 jumpers).

I'm still hoping it has the new style underside, so that you can centrally place a 1x1, a 2x1 and a 3x1 part underneath.

Beyond the crazy new transparent pieces in the 2018 DC sets, thought these were some cool new pieces, or at least don't recall seeing them before.

Besides that, not seeing anything much else that is new in these sets.

If those are open studs, I could see them being useful... wouldn't have been my first choice of new part though.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
Given that it's pictured with the spare stud shooter pieces I'd imagine it's a play feature thing, shoots out of something which would explain the need for the rounded edges
  • AleyditaAleydita Member Posts: 952
    Isn't it just a 1x2 Technic plate?
  • Matt89190Matt89190 Member Posts: 307
I suppose it could be useful in the way 6157554 is, in that the round edges mean it can rotate slightly....

I'm actually curious as to why they're both sat on their own, rather than being part of the model. It suggests they're used for some function, like the 1x1 round plates are in the stud shooters. The only reason I can think of is that it's some kind of minifig stand.

Not being a superheroes fan, do any of those characters fly? For example, in #76097, the plate could be used on the bottom of Wonderwoman(?)'s feet, to attach those two flame things to when the character flies. Similarly in #76098, the black plate could be used on the strange blue character's feet, to hold the trans-blue flames that are shown on the car.

    Just a wild guess.

@Paperballpark Had actually not looked at what the part's purpose was within the set and I am as well stumped. I like the idea of them being there for the feet to give a flying feature but at the same time would have figured that 1x1 round plates with holes would have worked. Would also give the additional boost of being able to move the legs. Nevertheless, having it on the feet does seem like the most reasonable option as I have no idea what else they would be there for.

I originally thought it was just a smooth connection to the transparent backpack piece thing on batman but now realizing that makes no sense now that it wouldn't work with the color scheme or in the 3rd set.

Also for the third set, I'm curious why there are two white spare 1x1 round hollow studs. As I recall, hollowed out studs don't to well with stud shooters so I wonder why they are there.

The round edged 1x2 plate goes on the feet of the characters. The weird energy prices fit in the open studs giving the ilusion of fire (or other energy stuff) shooting from their feet.

    I think that's what I just posited...

They'd be brilliant for building round towers. If you stagger them in rows, you'd be able to bend a wall into just about any shape.
