@NickF22 Where do you work, and are you hiring? ;)

Got a better/larger light-box today. Next: I really should get a tripod. After that, any poor (indoor) Lego pictures I take will be 100% down to my poor skills as a photographer...

Me too! Me too!  Ya'll speak English in the United Kingdom, yes?

I also feel like I've accomplished a Herculean task by shipping out stuff after my last round of trades.  I doubt anyone will wonder why the postage cost few up 3000% in June...

Need to really track down the Wedding sets we have so we can compare them.

In other news, I ordered my tuxedo for September last night.

I also got around to building #75100 First Order Snowspeeder this past weekend.

I don't know....I can see two genuine Lego Minifigures, but what is with the one in the middle? Not sure of the brand, but clearly not Lego, so disappointed. lol j/k :)

I started building Assembly Square last night. I was really disappointed to find the instructions loose in the box, slightly damaged.
IIRC, all the other modulars I own had the instructions bagged.

Waiting for my four and a half day weekend to start, during which I am considering building #42045 CLAAS XERION 500 TRAC VC, or perhaps finally breaking open #21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V.

I might even try building both.

Aaarrgghhh - still in Stuttgart. Missed our slot due to a couple of boarding pass errors. Should have taken off over an hour ago!
Oh, well - I'm sure we'll arrive eventually.

Having that sinking feeling when you think you have all the parts brought to build something, only to realise you have missed one. :(

I know what you mean! I'm building some brickheadz for the competition and realised I'd left one part out of the order.....

Same here, put in a reasonable size order on BL to complete the Technic BMW after harvesting parts for the 40th anniversary chassis. I noted down everything I used, cross referenced with the original parts list and then sorted through my own spares and removed those. Got a funny feeling I didn't order enough of something, its in transit so will find out soon enough!

Finally home from a full weekend displaying at BrickUniverse Madison. It was probably our biggest local show with fan interaction yet, and I have a feeling we will be picking up some new members.

That's three public events for our LUG in less than a month. I'm really glad we have a month until the next one.

Project not approved!?! The generic "sorry we didn't approve your project" response was really not helpful, especially with the whole "State: Awaiting Resubmission."

... and yet they approved the UCS Double Decker?  I'm really starting to question who actually approves projects!  What are your thoughts Vorpal?  Because it's a micro-fighter?
  • Matt89190Matt89190 Member Posts: 307
^^Most likely they see this as a proposal for a theme and not an individual set. I've heard numerous stories about people in similar situations.

The project approval department clearly needs to get themselves sorted out, if they won't let stuff like this through, but stuff like this gets the green light.

I just don't know anymore, I'm beginning to think the whole process is a waste of time. Even the Lego consultant I spoke to this evening couldn't figure out how it breeches the guidelines, especially since the submission is able to be edited & it's state is now Awaiting Resubmission, not Not Approved. Seems they have also done away with the 3,000 piece limit, as the consultant couldn't find any reference to it....TLG need to make the process more consistent & transparent.

^ Matt89190's link there dropped me into Ideas proper for the first time in a long time (normally just check the Bruckset round up).  I was really surprised to see multiple Brick Headz and Spongebob submissions within the first few pages!  In fact, one of the SpongeBob submissions was simply a build of the character itself (which has actually been released as an official set in the past).  As I said, I wonder who moderates the submissions as there were at least half a dozen that CLEARLY fell outside the guidelines.   Maybe the moderators aren't even aware that TLG once made SpongeBob sets and MAYBE, in your submission, they figured that you had Han Solo flying a funny shaped X wing and Star Wars just isn't allowed...

^ Well it does have "STAR" in the name. I mean you might as well "boldly go"...
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I was told by one of the ideas team that they allow the crap models (like the one linked) so that the community are doing more of the selection process. So they no it generally has no chance of gaining many votes and will soon be closed - this is part of why they do the x number of votes in x time to stay in.

with that galactica project it's anyone's guess - are the helmets one from Star Wars? Clutching at straws but could be to do with that. might be that they don't want something micro fighter looking while the Star Wars ones are on the shelf?

I'd have to guess that Lego has shot down all Battlestar Galactica submissions, since there are a grand total of ZERO on Ideas at this time. It is unclear why they'd be blocked, but it does appear that they are all being blocked.

I said the same thing about Minecraft.  Now I have two Villages stashed and a dozen other sets just in case my boy needs to expand his Minecraft Lego world.

You need an extra Obi-Wan and Grievous?  I can hook you up!

    Grumble grumble...
Grevious is damn awesome and I wasn't too concerned when forced to pay RRP for him.  I could see us getting a whole lot more if we could get them down at those crazy US clearance prices. Over here, the buildable figures are dropped to $25 AUD to clear shelves - that's just over $19 USD!
