I read today LeBron might be tired of Cleveland again and could be considering signing with the Lakers in 2018.

I'm happy I'm not the only person that realizes this thread is predominantly worthless.

Maybe they can sign Chris Paul and Clay Thompson to go along with LeBron and Lonzo Ball.

Wait so is the UCS MF coming with an exploding ring now? And if so at what angle? I'm so confused.

Speaking of rumours...  Look at the box and art on Lego.com for 75180 - Rathtar Escape. In the background there is a Falcon on the box art and on the promotional pic. On the 3rd pic on the set the spotlight illuminates the cockpit. Another hint from Lego?

Does anyone at least have an educated guess as to when it will be officially/unofficially unveiled? The Lego ninjago movie D2C set was unveiled today, and it is a September release, so if the Falcon is supposedly an October release, I would guess it's unveiled sometime in July? Using the Ninjago D2C as a barometer anyways

IIRC, last year's Death Star (same release window) leaked at the end of August and was officially unveiled maybe a week later?

Meanwhile over in Ninjago land they go from rumour to reality in 3 months albeit with a sausage-less build up.....Star Wars AFOLs begrudgingly acknowledge the set's awesomeness and continue debating interiors and memes

If there was a leaked picture of the MF you wouldn't hear about it on the main site you would here.

Have you seen the last jedi picture on the main site?

Forums have always been better for news than the main site, its very rare that the first we hear about something is from the main page.

The de-evolution, or evolution of this thread, depending on how you look at it, is exactly what the UCS MF deserves.  There isn't any news, and there hasn't been any news.  It's just speculation, people quoting people who are pretending to be in the know, and people looking for patterns in the clouds.  We have all bought into one of these forms of speculation at some time or another, and now we all feel silly.   That leaves us all with the following question:

Who is the more foolish, the fools in this thread, or the fools expecting real news that doesn't exist about a UCS Millenium Falcon?

^ Just my humble opinion, I'd say the more foolish are those that don't think it exists.  And let's just for a minute ASSUME that it does.  With the various ways TLG has managed to better control leaks over the last few years (We've had a BRILLIANT example in the last 24 hrs!), and the consequnces of doing so,  is it possible that there may be people who ARE in the know but want to protect those sources accordingly?
I have a funny feeling that TLG pay a lot more attention to Internet rumours than the average fan realises, and make internal 'adjustments' accordingly...

I'm not saying it doesn't exist or will never exist.  I think it's bound to happen sooner or later.  I just have serious questions as to whether or not anyone not within Lego knows for sure.  The further it goes along without any real news, the more I think it's just people trying to be the one to say they called it first, or maybe they were led on by a "source" as a cruel gag.

^ But we have had the Lego website showing the Millenium Falcon coming soon, the Lego designer video acting out the same part of the movie that this Millenium Falcon is rumoured to be based on. And I think Sumo said something about a retail inventory search indicating a large D2C set had a price set at $799.00.

So the fools in this thread are definitely more foolish than those excepting news but patiently waiting.

There have been rumours about a new / re-released UCS Falcon for many years. They tend to get forgotten when they don't come true, and then the next set of rumours come along. Someone will be correct at some stage, or just get forgotten.

So, basically: 1) a possible website glitch, 2) designers screwing around, and 3) a possibly incomprehensible stock search screenshot.

Definitely meriting 22 pages of whatever this is.

Sorry, but you've got to be joking. They fully intended that. Similar thing happened with the Saturn V.

The Designer video intros have been known to give hints on future sets.

That screenshot is the most absolute proof we have. That is a legitimate photo!! I have also seen some documents showing a CONFIDENTIAL product for $799.99

Am I the only one who has not seen these past year rumors? I've been browsing these sites for nearly 10 years and this is the only year I've seen it come up.

It is bound to happen. I don't know why people are in denial about this, it's like the Dimensions cancellation.. but not as bad...

At least this sh$t show will disappear when the inevitable announcement and release threads show up.  But for now, this is as close as we'll get.  Unless of course you wafnt to read UCS MF threads with much less general discussion and humour while the mods are jumping in and shouting SOURCE OR GTFO and scaring (or pushing)  ALL SORTS of people away!  They're definitely out there (and there's probably a few people round here who can point you in the right direction).

As was discussed at length earlier in this sprawling thread, these are all bits of circumstantial evidence.  I happen to believe that the UCS MF reissue is imminent.  I also believe the website page was an internal goof-up that clearly indicates the set is coming.  But they did 'correct' it or change it from the 'coming soon' page.

Lego could just as easily not release the set and ignore the 'glitch'.  It's not like a few folks that saw a 'coming soon' page have any basis to compell the set to be produced.

Summary - there isn't much in terms of evidence to substantiate this rumor.

There are quite a few like these over the years. I cannot be bothered to dig them all out. I have no doubt it will happen at some stage. Does that mean the rumours were correct though? If it had happened in, say, May 2015 would the guy that made up the Feb 2015 story have been correct? If it comes in another year, is that soon enough for this year's rumours to be correct? Is six months still valid?

^ This.  I've seen them and read them all.  As I've said before I researched heavily before jumping in and buying #10179.  This is the heaviest these rumors have been for sure, but it doesn't mean they are anymore credible than last year's iteration when someone claimed to know for a fact it was coming, and coming soon.  They had "sources" too.  And they had been "right" before too.

    Definition of rumor (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

    1. 1:  talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source

    2. 2:  a statement or report current without known authority for its truth

Thing is, while I am a die hard Star Wars fan and I love the UCS sets (I would even like a copy of Assault on Hoth, I'm just not going to pay full price for it) and have even bricklinked five of the older sets just to have the build experience, the longer the speculation/rumours go on, the further down my list of priorities this set goes.

In the last 12 months TLG have released soooo many excellent big box, large build (and expensive) sets from so many different themes, all of which are worthy of serious consideration to the AFOL market.

A lot of 'normal' (by definition not made of money) AFOL's are going to be choosing between three or four very good quality builds/sets that are all good in there own right, against one $800 set that is (according to the sources) an updated release of a set that, from what I have read, was not an exceptionally good seller at the time because of the price.

I know disposable income may be higher these days along with the ability to get money/credit easily, but I would imagine there are far more people in the bracket of "give me the three sets for $800" than there are for the "must have the Millennium Falcon and sod the rest".

As more great sets like the Ninjago City set come out that offer great alternative building experiences, my money is probably going to go on more than the one set.

**Saying all that, I still expect this set to fly of the shelves in good quantities when it's released, I just think that a large percentage of them will never be built in the vain hope of the monetary gain of the original.

The rumours have been great for my bank balance, at least in the short term!

It's made me determined not to buy anything else this year, and my strategy is working so far, but it would be good just to see something remotely concrete so I know that it will be worth the wait.

I sold my last (original) 10179 a few years ago, when rumours surfaced of a 'new version' and I'll admit that I've regretted it ever since.  I just hope that this time they're correct this time, but if not I'll just spend the money on a couple of aftermarket UCS sets that I've got my eye on.

Admittedly, a RRP of £650-£700 is a lot of money for a single set, but logically it's got to be something really special for that..... and I can't wait to find out.
