so those figures on that image are real ?

Its officially made by LEGO, yes but that's not what the Luke figure will look like

since I am not a minifig collector its not really bothering me, I am more curious if there will be some set based on the original trilogy (IV,V,VI) or only for episode VIII ?

    What do you mean? WHen?

Basically I was asking if there is any info about the autumn / winter sets (I am new in the LEGO SW so I don't know exactly the periods) ... if there will be some set / sets from the original trilogy, or all the sets in that wave will be focused only about SW The Last Jedi?
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
in 2015, there was a summer wave of non-episode 7 stuff, then the Sep 15 wave of Episode 7 sets.

in 2016, there was a summer wave of misc. SW sets, including Rebels, an Ep 7 set, and some others, then the October Rogue One wave.

We know we are getting the summer 2017 wave of non-episode 8 stuff, much of that is already available. I would expect Episode 8 stuff in the fall, then right around Christmas/early January, we would start getting the first wave of early 2018 sets, which will probably include both episode 8 sets as well as non-episode 8 sets.

Anyone know when TLG will make this polybag available?

I like all the different Scarif trooper designs. I secretly hope TLG will design an actual  set in the future with all three different (Scarif shore)troopers from:
    #75154
    #75171
and this one from this polybag, perhaps as part of a AT-ACT set (the huge walkers with cargo compartment from R1).
    ps.
Curious to know if other Lego star wars fans also would like to see TLG introduce new blaster molds models for the minifigs? (essentially the three current types are: big long rifle; medium blaster rifle; and 'tiny' blaster pistol)

    https://brickset.com/parts/design-58247

The reason I ask is because this Lego sci-fi gun with the binoculars attached to it does not resemble the blaster riffles from the movie at all. I think these Lego sci-fi guns with the ability to attach binoculars to them to change them into what you see is very clever, but I would prefer a new design which resembles the source material closer.

I've placed an order for a key chain just for the R2 display polybag, knowing this series is continuing...

Oh, man! Imagine a UCS AT-TE to the same scale. Has anyone tried MOCing just one AT-TE foot to loom over their UCS Snowspeeder?

Some larger Last Jedi pics leaked on reddit, looking like a Star Destroyer and AT-AT.
Pretty sure the pics can't be posted here but not sure about the link to them so will play safe :-)

It looks a bit too much like a OT line to me but then I don't love the new ship either although it has some nice printed canopies.

Pictures all over eurobricks, some people are getting banned.

Wow resistance bomber, first order star destroyer, even the at at I'm about to pass out. Can't wait!!

May have to get the minifigs from the Resistance set.
The bombardier I'd have to call George ( after my grandfather & his rank) & I have a niece who would quite like the gunner that shares her name

Wow, I really don't like thr designs on any of those ships. Not a fan of any of the figs either, maybe it's the actual ships I dislike but I guess we haven't seen them to know. I have a gut feeling this movie isn't going to be very good. The trailer was the exact format with cut and paste new clips and there are plenty of similarities between the trailer and The Empire Strikes Back. I hope I'm wrong but with how disney has handled the franchise I'm not optimistic.

The 'topless' Star Destroyer?  Considering how many of those ships get destroyed due to that bridge design flaw - it's about time!

(Maybe Galen Erso had a hand in designing those as well?)

Not exactly what I thought that character was going to look like.

Since we are in that subject I will chime my two cents, I am so glad to be skipping on them due to not being the Rogue One ship, the AT-ATC, an OT Star Destroyer or even a Tie Bomber yet. I bought a couple of Ep 7 sets and I somehow regret it (I loved the movie but not the sets)

Pardon me for asking, but at the first glance... are those sets like First Order Star Destroyer and First Order Heavy Assault Walker a mid - scale models, or why do they looks so small to me.

    35.4 x 37.8 x 9.4 cm

    1.34Kg

    Interesting

I was trying to work out how many parts it will have based on the weight but its hard give that it won't be a 'normal' set and we have no idea how it will be built.

^ Thanks I couldn't find the weight of that one which does seem like the best comparison. Although I think BB-8 will use more plates and less bricks compared with R2-D2 but for all we know it could use technic panels.

Would anybody who has 75180 Rathtar Escape be able to scan and upload the instruction pages for the actual rathtars and/or the parts list page, please? I'd like to be able to build the rathtars, and it will be a while before the full instructions are on the Lego site. I'd be very grateful!

That news comes as quite a surprise. I've always wondered if they should to a BB-8 in a similar scale to #10225 - R2-D2, the spherical shape has always had me worried, especially if it will be well rendered. I'm guessing this is out next year right for May 4th?
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,332

Huh? So that means we have three D2C Star Wars sets this year given a MF is also due to be released later this year? I'll be very interested to see what it looks like.

@cavegod Is it really confirmed that #75187 BB-8 is a general release set? Sculptures have always been D2C/UCS in the past; I have difficulties imagining that i would see it on the shelf of my local supermarket. It's also the only upcoming SW set we haven't seen leaked pictures of yet.

Might be a lack of imagination on my part of course ;)
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,332
Some people are saying it will be labelled UCS, it would be good if it had a plaque like R2-D2. But could it be UCS and general release, I guess so. As more shops sell bigger and bigger sets, the D2C label is harder to define. Is 70912 Arkham Asylum a D2C, I say yes, brickset says no.

It's a TRU exclusive - so it's not a D2C only available through the retail Lego Store and S@H.

^^ There are lots of what database calls D2C's available at TRU or Smyths the only difference with this one was it was immediately available at TRU.

D2C is probably not the right name for it anymore. But when AFOL's say D2C what they mean is large/flagship set not available everywhere.

  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
That revision of the D2C definition would make #60162 Jungle Air Drop Helicopter a D2C.

I think I'll stick to the original definition. We've had store exclusives since time immemorial; doesn't make them D2C.
    fourstudSumoLego
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,332
That would depend on what you meant by large, if large was over 1456 parts then #60162 would not be covered but most things we call D2C now would be covered.

Sets at TRU in the UK:
    LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ (75827)
LEGO Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier (76042)
LEGO Star Wars Assault on Hoth (75098)
LEGO Creator - Tower Bridge (10214)
    LEGO The Simpsons House (71006)
    LEGO Creator Assembly Square (10255)
    LEGO Simpsons The Kwik-E-Mart (71016)
LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter (75095)
    LEGO Creator Big Ben (10253)
LEGO Creator Expert Ferris Wheel (10247)

And that's only at TRU in the UK at the moment, others at Smyths and lots more that are now retired.

They all have the D2C tag on brickset.
