What about a graphic billboard that comes out from the building over the sidewalk?

@Briking I was about to buy another Corner Deli (so that I would have two in total) to try to do what you did...then I realized you said you had FOUR and I stalled haha...but I really wanna try your model but tweaking it a bit.
I have two corner delis so far - one I've built and the other is still unopened, waiting for me to combine the two together. Thinking of getting a third now and using some of my spare parts to make a bigger version of my own. Just waiting for a decent price again...

@RogerKirk If Argos stocks it, it might be in their next 342. In which case Amazon might drop their price?

@blogzilly Exactly, that was what I was thinking of with the CC and PC boards.  I'll have a play and see what I can come up with.  No doubt will find I'm missing something though!

£24.99 at Argos, so 3-2 will be good for others who want to do their own Modular.  Starts in just over 4 hours.  Fifty quid for three!

Amazon is currently £18-something, but out of stock for now with a 1-3 month wait. Though last time I ordered a set with that length of wait it arrived in about a week!

last 2 times Argos had a 3 for 2 offer on the Corner Deli was not included.

@chrisalddin I absolutely love the choice of color for the interior floor and cool truck!

Love how the front looks @chrisalddin with the double sandwich sign - and the interior is colourful and modern.  the deli van is nicely proportioned too. I like that the stools on the second floor are arranged so everyone has a view.

    Well done! :-)

@bricking - some houses have a plaque stating when they were built as part of a wall. Maybe that could work? Alternatively, a billboard (can't remember the UK name!) on the side might work?

Thanks @MaffyD A blue plaque might work.  The space is only 6 studs wide, so a plaque is probably the only thing there's room

I'm thinking about putting the small dark red house next to the café, so there's a bit more variety in height in this street lay-out. Still need to get me some more tiles for the pavement.
    Any opinions?

@wardm I think that's a good move.  The cafe on its own might have looked a bit squashed.  With the dark red house next to it, it looks more natural.

That's terrific...and eerily close to what I was gonna do...so now I need to rethink my plan so I feel less like a copycat. It's good though it will force me to think outside the box. What does the back of that set up look like? In fact I would be curious to see the whole street in progress if you are willing to show.

    Some interesting builds there.
I now have 6 Corner Deli's, so I might try a modular version myself.
I'll have to be careful not to lose the "spirit" and "feeling" of the original set.

I bought two and decided to go against my usual 'LDD it first' and try what I could with two sets. It didn't end well. I only got so far and had to give up due to lack of the reddish brown bricks.
LDD results after about 30-45 minutes? Much better.

The 'overhang' is for the balcony. The rear section that 'juts' out is for the stairwell access to the upper floor. Integrated is an 'externally' facing post box, so the flat dwellers can collect their post without going outside.

@flord very nice! Because all of you, I guess I have to buy some more Corner Delis to make a good MOC...

@flord it looks really cute and good I think. Maybe the reason why it looks so tiny is because you placed it next to GG..? I think putting it next to pet shop would make it look better..

I've been slowly turning this into a modular. I've destroyed and rebuilt a few times now. It certainly has potential. I don't love med blue and dark orange next to each other though, that is a limiting factor for me. Otherwise, I think a balcony would work well since I didn't put that in mine originally.

But I already have so many med blue buildings, it's a tough sell.

Either way, keep up the good work. It looks neat enough and should blend in pretty well with other modulars.

I really hop that Corner Deli is put up for a good sale price during BF/Cyber Monday as I would not mind a few more of these for a project like this.

I've seen it at Walmart and Kmart for as low as $31.XX, so it wouldnt be a surprise to see it again at those prices.

Actually it is $29.99 right now at Target.com....doubt we'd see it any cheaper on BF

Thanks, hoping they get a bit lower though. 25% off is nice, but hoping a bit for 30% ( a bit greedy I know, but I already have bought a couple at 29.99)

right now jet.com has the Corner Deli at 29 and change) and you can get an extra 20% off (EXTRA20 code)of that (and a bit more if you get multiples of the set)

I started my Modular version, but I think I may have gone too large. :)
    I am using a grey 48x48 baseplate.
I have an outside eating area like the original.
Inside there is a bread and cake baking oven.
4 tables of Fruit and Veg including one dedicated to Asparagus. I also have a table of Pineapples and another for Goji berry's etc.
There is also a table of cakes. I am also going to add a Bread table soon.
It is very nearly time for photo's.

Received a bricklink order for a bright blue round 2x2 tile today.  So now my deli has also got its blue plaque (on the balcony side).

Got three Toy and Grocery and two Corner Deli. Ordering my third Corner Deli today. By the time I actually get to designing and building mine no ones going to care anymore! :)

I have a Chestburster, couple of loose Modulars, some Winter themed stuff and more sitting in my queue and I still haven't even set up my building area yet since we moved in. I'm still working on living spaces in the house and my office in the basement.

Garage is jammed full of stuff that still hasn't even been integrated into the house yet. Yikes!

@blogzilly I don't think any of us would lose interest in anything related to LEGO. Looking forward to your MOC.

^^I like your Spiderman-esque bust in the background...adds a nice creepy feel to your garage.

Looks like my garage a few months back after moving.

That bust may also help scare off any novice thieves as well, I'm guessing.

At this point I can only dream of one day having to worry about getting my stuff integrated into a house.

    well.......
    i know i will look.
i have yet to see a set this coming year that may be a good candidate for this type of Moc.
    so your are all good.

hell feel free to post any lego set turned modular's like this project for Corner Deli in this thread.

Slow progress for me, having only built two so far for ideas. I'm determined to only make use of parts from these sets (even if I need to use several!) to make my full size modular, but I'm already starting to realise the limitations in that!

yep a 32x32 is not easy, you can pull off a 16x32 quite easy. but a 32x32 that need Skills...

Better to start a new thread with an appropriate title, I think.

I have four Corner Deli's and am also trying to MOC it.

Have added a 32x32 baseplate and really don't want to add any other bricks. Want to make a "full size" modular but that's pretty hard. (lots of windows, not much 1x* bricks)

Current situation is a Corner Deli, with an apartment above with two balconies and access to the roof, which has a little shack.

Is my first MOC after just picking up Lego again after many years. Left when I was 12 or so.

Progress is slow, have limited time, but loads of fun.

Gonna try to put up some photo's later.

So...besides the box I already opened and built, I have (up until tomorrow when I pickup one more from Walmart) six extra boxes, of which I will only open no more than four (extras to give to my brother).

I have three boxes opened so far, and I think it's going well. I started with two boxes and a 16x32 plate, but will be adding the third box and keep the same plate.

I'm kinda resurrecting this thread based on how many of us have gotten this lately.

Picked up two when they went on sale on Amazon for $21. Was hoping to get at least three but will have to see what I can do with just the two for now.

Keep an eye on Amazon, I think their 'limiting' even has a limit and you may be able to buy again if they get down to that price.

So, I'm calling this 31050MOC-01. I'm using three #31050 but I did cheat with the 'fridge' and the range hood, since they're all pieces I already had.

Obviously, work in progress and for the first floor only. I am thinking of reducing the back of the deli by four studs (area of 4x16) in order to save bricks to finish five whole layers of the brown bricks. I'll still need another layer to finish the bottom floor.

Working on this, I realize how a 'corner' building (definitely on a 32x32) works best since there's more windows and lighting and more options... But we can't have that many corners...

So, I redesigned the first floor and ended up with this; mostly finished, but I still need to get some tiling and add detail and more seating.

With all of these $19 delis from Walmart, I really have no excuse for not working on a modded version of this set at some point in the near future.

@josekalel That mod is coming along nicely. I know you had mentioned in a previous post that you were thinking about having it as a corner building but there can only be so many corners on a street: my thought for it is to have an entranceway to a park next to the building so the deli can be a "corner" but not at the end of the street. Next to the park entrance, I will create a fenced-in area for outdoor seating at the deli.

^Thanks! I already have the 'extended' Assembly Square as a plaza, but I know what you mean and I might try doing that in the future, since right now I do not have space for a park, although that's something I really wanna do. Either way, I guess it is OK to have too many corners, if you do 'squares' with four 32x32 plates buildings.

What I realized is that even with three boxes opened (1,401 pieces), there's barely enough bricks to do a decent two-story building in a 16x32.
