Noticed Alternate.be carries them as well, presumably making use of their European supply chain. There's more margin in Lego minifigs than in PC components...
The only real issues I'd noticed on some CMFs before we're slightly loose leg joints - series 12 was the one series I really noticed this on. I was consciously looking for the issues yesterday and everything seemed as good as standard minifigs from sets to me.
I vaguely remember LEGO asking for feedback on this a while ago so I guess they've been working on it.
Bring on NINJAGO!
Retro Space Guy is still my favorite overall, but the soda jerk, pastry chief, and veterinarian are great town additions. Far from my favorite release, but still lots to love.
Got 9 unique and 1 double (on purpose) of the highwayman.
Almost contacted Lego for a missing rod for the dwarf but it was lodged under the minifig base plate.
Picked up one of everything minus Cornman, Rocket Kid, and Soda Jerk. This just happened to be the split of the SO's and my tastes. For myself, the Highwayman, Chef, Veterinarian, 80's Coke Dealer, Dwarf, Elf, and Gladiator.
The Chef, Vet, and Elf were the ones I was most excited for and they delivered:
Elf is gorgeous in detail and photographs well. The shield is beautiful and I love her printing.
The Pastry Chef's hat and hair piece is too damn cute. Also excellent that she's the only dual expression figure in the set, I believe. I'm sure she'll be popular for Modulars.
I know the Vet is pretty plain as far as CMF go, but I liked her hair and the simplicity of the figure. She's now friends with the Skunk Catcher.
During the leaks I didn't care about the Dwarf, but now he is one of my favourites. The tattoos and costume design are fantastic, and I love how detailed the hammer is. The axe just sweetens the deal. May need to grab more Dwarves and Elves, something I've not felt compelled to do before.
I had to get the Dwarf so that he, Elf, S15's Orc Knight, and S16's Archer could form a D&D party. Now I need to go back and chase down more monsters from series past and dig out my 90s dragons.
The Gladiator (I decided he's Sexy Poseidon) and Battle Goddess (Pallas Athena) can pull double pantheon duty for them on my desk.
There was confusion over who wanted the Highwayman (both of us, oops), so I suppose I'll have to head back this week, as he seemed plentiful. Of course, once I shared my finds with friends and family, the requests poured in for Soda Jerk and Cornman. Agh! Next time, I'm buying the pre-order case.
Like last Series, it's nice to be done with my hunt in one shot at the start. It can be a drag chasing them around a city like Toronto, and I'm sure even the LEGO store will get finicky between now and the next series.
For now, I just need to get Rocket Kid for my SO,
The teen serving the hot dog and Five Dollar Shake. He's totally a soda jerk!
He's a cool figure b/c of the classic space torso and rocket suit, but I like several of the other figures in this series much better.

The fact that it was first published back in 2015, makes the whole thing even more strange http://bit.ly/2mwzLBG
Also the name of an awesome Buffalo Tom song:
The one that I had a hard time finding was the little fairy, tbh.
Funny, it was one of the ones I kept finding, heck one bag had a tear in it (presumably from feeling the bag and feeling the 'collar') where you could see the trans color of the fairy wings. That and kept finding the fitness instructor.
The two I kept finding were the weightlifter and the female elven warrior.
Either way, still having a very difficult time finding another Vet.
They decided to become a gang of Highwaymen and hold the flintlocks sideways. :)
Yeah that is what I was figuring. I just go shipping notification from@MinifiguresPlus that my set is on its way, so Im guessing stores are getting their second shipments in for these, which should make them a bit easier to find, as long as you have no goofs that are trying to corner the market in their areas.
I already got the extras I need as well, so Series 17 is now officially in the books. I'm excited to see the rumored Costumed Only Series 18, although I am admittedly a little tired of that subtheme. Just too much of a good thing I guess... I would much rather have useful figures for city / historic / sci-fi displays. Anything Mythology related is always welcome as well.
With past series, I haven't noticed where in a case a particular figure is, sometimes they're spread out sometimes clumped.
@josekalel getting the baker lady for mom - I often use appropriate CMF as gifts for people who aren't usually into LEGO.
Saw some at Target today - inspired me to finally look up identification information. Here's what I came up with:
Brackets are subset number on bricklink col17-X
5 per box
Highwayman [16]: Three-corner hat and two pistols
Corn Cob Guy [4, 8.5g]: the large corn mold, especially the bumps for kernels
Circus Strongman [2, 11.34g]: The new round barbell piece is the only thing to look for
4 per box
Connoisseur (Frenchman) [9, 11.34g]: the bulldog, baguette, as we as the little hat all make him stand out
Roman Gladiator [8]: The trident is all that stands out
Yuppie [12, 8.5g]: The easiest thing to feel for is the mobile phone as it has a pretty distinct design.
Retro Space Hero [11, 8.5g]: the new ray gun and helmet
Hot Dog Vendor [6, 8.5g]: curved hot dog and bun pieces.
Battle Dwarf [10, 8.5g]: The hammer should be enough, but also the mohawk
3 per box
Professional Surfer [1, 8.51g]: The surfboard
Gourmet Chef [3, 8.5g]: many including chef’s hat, pie, and whisk.
Elf Maiden [15, 8.5g]: sword and shield easy to find, also only large dress piece in S17
Veterinarian [5, 8.5g]: rabbit
Butterfly Girl [7, 11.34g]: Large wings stand out very easily.
Dance Instructor [14]: Large curly hair piece, also a 1×1 round brick
Rocket Boy [13, 11.34g]: The large rocket costume mold should be easy to find
Rocket Boy is the only figure significantly above MSRP on BrickLink right now. Most are slightly above or below.
Are the 8.5g and 11.34g weights placeholders?
Butterfly Girl and Elf Maiden packets should be thick
Vet and Space Guy could get confused because of similar hair

I've only checked two stores (4 almost complete boxes in total) and probably didn't spend enough time on each bag.
the rabbit ear and wig, i got one but i haven't open to confirm, rush to get the chef for this
The pointy bits of the vets wig is the best indication. The vet must be popular as me and a lego shop employee looked through around 150 CMFs on the shelves before he relented and got a new box out for me to get a vet.
@monkeyhanger you beat me to it! I also put my baker into Assembly Square.
At least for me, it's the most gratifying to place incorporate the CMFs into my town and story, and make them citizens.
All I've gotten so far is a Hot Dog Guy, Elf Girl and Corn Guy, I'm looking forward to completing it and getting enough duplicates to have loads of fun. If I had to guess I'd say Rocket Boy and the Vet are most desirable overall because of the new rabbit and the plain grey torso with classic space logo.
I would also hesitate to add the Hot Dog Guy for his parts, that new tray, the plain unprinted Squishee cup and a Hot Dog Bun the cheapest it's ever been. I actually have plans to get five of him for those reasons alone.
Identifying the Classic Spaceman took a while because the head was inside the helmet already. Oddly enough this is the first time I've ran into this.
I got 1 from a new case at TRU, found only 1 from an already searched case yesterday, and on Saturday, at the LEGO store, a lady and an employee could not find one in two already searched cases.
The ones I find plenty of are the dwarf, the yuppie, and the strong man.
The only duplicate I am missing is the vegetarian... I need at least a 2nd one.
I found at least 2 in our lego store here
The Hot Dog Man would also be up near the top, due to the parts, as well as the minifig, at least in the short term. Longer term, it would depend on whether the tray and plain domed lid cup show up in more sets or not.
If you really need hot dog buns, they're available through Bricks & Pieces for a lot less than Bricklink's average price (at least in the States).
