Really like the R2D2 polybag, but I can't justify £60 of SW sets to get it, theres only one Rebels set I want at the moment.

Decided I wasn't going to go for CMF S17.... then dropped in to Smyths on the way home and got four of them!

    Not too shabby a day.

Grabbed #76059 Doc Ock's Tentacle Trap 48% off @ my local Target store (the last one).

Then, at TRU, (finally) found CMF Series 17; grabbed 10 at random and got:
    - Professional Surfer
    - Circus Strong Man (x2)
    - Veterinarian
    - Roman Gladiator
    - Connoisseur
    - Battle Dwarf
    - Retro Spaceman
    - Yuppie
    - Highwayman

I find the Highwayman pretty cool; I will try to get a few extras. Need more Connoisseur for the dog. Love the Retro Spaceman and the Veterinarian (bunny!). Feel like a few extra Roman Gladiator are in order for an "army". The Yuppie's cellphone 1x1 parts should be useful for MOCing and the minifigure for some Miami Vice vignettes ;-)

Loot from a day of shopping in Oberhausen. Lego-related only, I didn't include the Dunkin Donuts box, the Double Whopper, the Lindt chocolates, the pink bamboo coffee mug and the pink fluffy unicorn :D

Picked up some great Star Wars deals online at a major retailer here, #75148, #75149 and #65153 for 40% plus another $20 off so brought the discount up to about 51% off.
Now to get on [email protected] to pick sets to be eligible for the R2 giveaway and free shipping.
  • Johnyk668Johnyk668 Member Posts: 73
Oops meant #75153, that would be great if I had got the 2002 Slave 1
  • legomentallegomental Member Posts: 370
Completely bankrupt...... No deals for months meant I really couldn't justify any purchases on a tight budget since Christmas. And then April brings 3x vip points plus TRU offers and discounts resulting in 1 parisian restaurant,  1 assembly square and 2 brick banks.

Best month ever, can't stop smiling and am itching to get building tomorrow

Even as a LEGO and SW fan I haven't gotten too far into LEGO SW since the end of my dark ages so I might have the same problem. This month I had a similar problem in picking out $20 of Friends for the tic tac toe set.

    Great haul!

By the way, as a non-European, but as a Mexican-American...Dunkin Donuts and a Double Whopper? I'm sure there are better food options...are there??

There definitely are, but neither are available in my country, so when I step over certain borders, BK is a definite go-to. The dunkin donuts were for my daughter who looooves donuts :)

Found Benny's Spaceship on Ebay for £49 - missing Bad Cop, Unikitty and Benny, but I'd guess they shouldn't be too hard to pick up elsewhere/I can live without if need be. I just really wanted to get this before it got priced out of my reach altogether, because I'm definitely never going to have one of those big Classic Space ships!

@sid3windr I'm not a big fan of Dunkin or Krispy Kreme donuts, since there is a place called Shipley Donuts in the US that has (IMO) better donuts, especially when they're right out of the fryer and they're warm. As for burgers...my favorite franchise overall (price, quality, service) is Whataburger...but I prefer Mexican grilled burgers.

I just realized us Americans are spoiled with junk food.

I wonder how the Dunkin Dounts there compares to the U.S.?

I was checking out the May the 4th sales on [email protected], I had a number of items in my cart that I was eventually going to buy. I noticed that one item was missing (there had been 3, but now 2). Clicked on the cart and noticed that #853687 Ninjago Accessory Set was missing. It now had a status of "Call for Availability".

So I called them, luckily they had a few left. I picked one up, and also the other items that had been in my cart (#853676 Nexo Knights Accessory Set and #853677 Stone Monsters Accessory Set) in fear that those would sell out.

I was pretty surprised it was already selling out, the other accessory sets are generally on there for at least a year.

I have a pretty strict LEGO budget, I hadn't planned on getting these until the end of June, so I had to bump them to the top and push my budget by a week.

Just picked up 50+ cmf's to add to my collection ( Have a lot of gaps:) ). One or two of them have the wrong head annoyingly but overall am very happy with them.

I honestly have no idea, never been in the US :-) I must say the ones I had in a regular DD eat-in place in Berlin were a lot better than those from the shopping mall "store" in Oberhausen :-)

I was too late to pick these up from Lego at 11.99, however 9.99 will have to do.

May the 4th 2017 shall be marked as the day I gave in to the dark side of UCS sets.

I spent only 20 minutes in Wijnegem Shopping center:

Something Star Wars-y turned out to be the Slave I I had my eyes on since I saw its beauty in the flesh. Wijnegem Store still had plenty of Snowspeeders but I'll wait until these are eligible for a discount.

I just called regarding #853687 and they only had 10 left in the warehouse. I ordered two, so there are eight more for anyone who wants one at the last moment.

Bought #75155 yesterday.  My first SW set, bought it for my nephew though...so I guess that doesn't count.

I bought my first bulk lot from a local seller yesterday for $215. I've purchased groups of used sets before, but never a huge bin stuffed with random LEGO where I didn't know exactly what I was getting. Well, almost no idea what I was getting. What pushed me over the edge to reach out and negotiate were these four partially-built items that I noticed poking out of different areas of the 45-pound bin in the seller's photos:
I am definitely a novice when it comes to figuring out sets based on just a few parts, but I recognized these fairly quickly.

Now to the task of sorting, which seems like a fun treasure hunt since I have never done it before, but I think it will get fairly old as I work on this off and on for the next couple of months. I'm not sure how @TheMaker37 has done it with his metric ton purchases that I have drooled over in the last year.

I think this is my biggest haul, counting number of sets, not money spent, from LEGO [email protected] and Jet. (ignore the stuff to the left, that's stuff I already had).

waiting for good deals on 2017 sets. amazon.fr barely has anything over 20% off, while it looks like amazon.com and .uk already have a bunch of sets at over 30% off.

Dumb question: if they are sealed, how do you know you got them all, as opposed to a bunch of duplicates?

Because I bought them from the only person in the world that I would buy them from!!

Bought a yoda keyring for the R3M2 freebie at Gateshead and spent 25 mins feeling up half the S17 CMFs with a member of staff, trying to get me and one patient mother a Vet. Got the Vet (mianly for the Rabbit as is the closest Lego representation to our all white blue eyed mini Lop rabbit "Lily".

Was looking to finish my chess set MOC - mainly needed 8 blue Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 Double Convex [3676]. However, that part is a lot cheaper in black, I already had 1 and I could get 7 from the same seller. I ended up ordering far more than that. 9 cheap minidolls, parts for 11 minidolls, a few parts I need to finish #41560 Jamzy, tiles to make my soccer field all regular green, and many bricks for my color collection (many of those were either rare colors, non-reddish brown, or non-bluish gray)

BL Recycled Brick and Janet OBrien, both charge exact postage and nothing extra, managable minimum buy, quick invoicing

Finally found an almost full box of the S17 minifigures and grabbed myself a Corn Guy, Rocket Boy, and Fairy Girl. The pricing has gotten rather ridiculous lately, with the blind bags costing as much as a pack of Mixels. Had to restrict myself to the ones I really wanted, whereas before I would have gotten quite a few more.

Bought #75824 Pig City Teardown for $20, #75825 Piggy Pirate Ship for $30 yesterday at local Target. Built #75824, grandson is having a lot of fun playing with it. He particularly likes the boulder that drops into the box of TNT, and knocking over the hot dog stand.

What would keep me from buying Lego? Well, not being on holiday for 2 weeks in remote areas with iffy wifi:

    • Some Star Wars to qualify for 2x R2-D2.
    • A big dragon, because, well, it's a *big dragon*.
    • First time ever I have a new CMF series complete so soon after it's released, thanks to fellow bricksetters.
    • Some various other sets, getting me closer to 1000 sets owned. Yay?

My Walmart pick-up orders came in today, so I made a Walmart trip and ended up with:
    (3 pick-up items)
    10-drawer IRIS Cart @ $32
    #21029 Buckingham Palace @ $28
    #21307 Caterham Seven @ $44

    #31050 Corner Deli @ $19 x3
    #41578 Screeno @ $1
    #75119 Jyn Erso @ $8
    #75120 K-2SO @ $13
    #75121 Imperial Death Trooper @ $13
    #75154 TIE Striker @ $35
    #75165 Imperial Trooper Pack @ $11

Also stopped at TRU and picked up a Michonne statuette from The Walking Dead that was on clearance + 20% off clearance coupon + 10% off for credit card, which will be a gift for my mom's birthday. While there, I picked up 5 CMFs: 2 rocket boys, 1 highwayman, 1 yuppie, and 1 corn cob guy.

I just bought an umbrella for LESTER. He feels so much happier now with his friends!

May I ask how you got hold of one and how much is cost you?

I've been trying to hold off buying too much LEGO recently, due to the large number of sets that are going to be definite purchases later this year (Minecraft 2017 wave 2 (inc. The Mountain Cave, Ideas Saturn V, Carousel, Ideas Old Fishing Store etc.) but I did pick up #60142 Money Transporter, #60152 Sweeper & Excavator and #60107 Fire Ladder Truck recently, which has kept me busy building.

My main recent purchase, however, was a BNIB #10244 Fairground Mixer, which I was kicking myself not to have bought before it went EoL, but I got a good deal on it off eBay, only paying a very little above RRP and with free P&P, so I'm very happy indeed!
I'm about half-way through building it, having just started the flat-bed trailer.

My final purchase was not something I specifically needed but, again off eBay, I picked up a nearly-new-looking #886 Space Buggy. The space logo on the minifig looks absolutely mint, as do the parts. It also came with the box and instructions, both looking in awesome condition, so I'm very excited to get it! :-)

@JudgeChuck The #MINECON Steve cost me £35 on 31/Oct/2015 from a US seller on eBay, most of which was postage! I was lucky to find it since the listing was poorly titled and not classified as LEGO. I think I was searching to see what MINECON stuff was available.

It was a used set which I've deep cleaned since the photo that i gave to @Huw was taken. Huw, I could give you a dust-free photo for brickset if you're interested? Anyway, Steve is the pride of my extensive Minecraft collection and I won't be parting with it! :D

^^ Heavens! I spotted the Minecon Steve and ignored the Mr. Gold! Real or faux?
  • SeanTheCollectorSeanTheCollector Member Posts: 765
@JudgeChuck The Mr Gold is a reproduction but it is a very good reproduction. :)

The #LESTER shown above is also a reproduction. However, I do have a real LESTER, number 229, but it won't be leaving it's packaging anytime soon! And I can't tell the difference even with a magnifying glass between my reproduction LESTER and the real thing!

On the other hand, in the background, #COMCON035 The Collector is a cheap and nasty (very poor quality) chinese copy! :(

    Today's LEGO haul.

The few things on the right with #30449 Milano bought at my local LEGO store for the aforementioned promo.

The loot on the left is from my local TRU 40% sale (polybags not on sale; $3.99 ea.). My second copy of #75096 Sith Infiltrator; could not pass the 50% off RRP.

Well, I already had the Fairground mixer. Now I`ll just have to get all of them :(.
Need to be strong and not get sucked into any more new themes/subthemes. Somehow I get into at least 1 new theme every year.

Last christmass (mainly due to crazy discounts) got me into Ninjago. Now I ended up getting all of the big sets from the past 2 years, including Airjitzu temple, City of stiix, Final flight of destiny bounty, a bunch of dragons, etc. And I`ll just have to get the big ship and the new temple from the Ninjago movie sets (at least).
