I just don't understand how they have such an ability to so closely mimic the official LEGO design.  I understand it would be difficult but boy oh boy!

Well, the pic here is probably photoshopped from official LEGO pics, like most Lepin box art. That aspect doesn't take any sort of special manufacturing prowess.

When it comes to the actual bricks, I'm not entirely sure how they copy them, but copying plastic toys is something companies have been doing for years, so it probably doesn't take much in the way of insider knowledge.

"Batbro" would have been cool, too.

They are some expensive sets!!!! I've been eyeing the photos of these since they were first officially published and they do look great but I'm disappointed (although really not surprised) by those hefty prices.
I haven't paid too much attention to piece count and can only assume these prices reflect the current price per piece but as a parent of children who will want these sets (and I want them too) I'm taken aback by the £350 total.

How much do waves of sets normally cost?

Let's hope for some decent discounts.

    bane is a must buy!

what ever you do, don't tell my wife how much I spent on buying all those sets.

Has anyone spotted 70917 is available now in Smyths Toys? Picked one up at the weekend.

Not to derail but seeing the Wicked Witch and Flying Monkeys in the Ultimate Batmobile #70917 just makes me want a Wizard of Oz theme even more!

Sorry for the multiple posts, but it was the only way I could get it to post. The only special piece is the printed Chevy/Batman base.

I was able to get it all on one pdf if anyone else is looking for this (as I was).  Thanks for taking the photos of these!  I think your source is the only one out there.

Rumored 2018 sets for the Lego Batman Movie....
Does this mean there's still a chance of a Wayne Manor in the making?
  • FowlerBricksFowlerBricks Member Posts: 1,731
@wardm: That would be nice. We've never really got a Wayne Manor set and it's long overdue, in my opinion.

I think there is a chance!

    Would be cool if true.
Not sure how well they'd sell tho as the movie would be old news by then and kids are so fickle.

The hilarious part of this is that the name Bathero has been used on bootlegs before:

Any information on the availability of the #30612 Batgirl poly? For the US this is supposed to be a Target exclusive bundled with the blu-ray, but I haven't seen anything announced for Europe.

Has anyone found a guide of all the different DVD/Blu-Ray versions coming out? From what I've found looking a retailer websites, the Batgirl polybag is the only minorities included at all.

Yeah I was hoping for something more exciting, say a minifig not available in several other sets.

I'm loving the Egg Mech, I appreciate more C-List villains that probably won't ever show up again, and I'm a sucker for more Batsuits (Reggae Man!). As usual I can wait for some price drops though - nothing I need to pick up on Day 1.

This thread hasn't seen activity for quite some time, but has anyone else picked up the TLBM: Making of the Movie book as part of the recent [email protected] markdowns? My order just arrived today and for anyone who enjoys concept art, early production sketches and models, I would highly recommend picking up a copy before it sells out.

The minifig/character concepts are interesting. There are some pretty good alternate designs for Two-Face, Scarecrow and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. Some of the Barbara Gordon concepts look like they inspired TLM2 Wyldstyle. I was tired of seeing TLBM sets when the movie came out, but I wish they had another wave featuring some of the concept vehicles from the book. There is a Joker van that looks like a Joker-ized A-Team van that would have been a must buy in my opinion.

If you enjoy learning about the LEGO design process then this book is for you. The best part is that it is now 50% off!

I already have the book so won't be getting it marked down but I'll second that recommendation. It's so rare to get such great insight into the making of a Lego theme, let alone a full book's worth of content. I wish we were lucky enough to get books like these for The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2 as well, but it doesn't look like we will... :(

^ Yeah, I was surprised at the amount detail, definitely not the typical DK Lego book. It's too bad they didn't create editions for the TLM & TLM2, you would think each movie would have an equal amount of concept art, etc.
