@Fauch Brick Bank should be my next modular...once I save enough.

@MrJackson That looks great! Any estimates as to how many bricks per skycraper?? In case, you know, I get the crazy idea of building one for my little town...

#41560 Jamzy - parted it out, then decided to build it. finally checked my inventory for the rest of the parts. I had nearly all of them. BL stores I was ordering from anyway had all the rest.

Continued wrangling the MegaBloks Enterprise. I had to get my boxes of ziploc bags and sort most of the opened parts bags (which did keep the mess on the table from growing and helped me find pieces later).

Finished Brick Bank. The detail looks great, as usual, but putting on all those little pieces can be a pain in the ass - well, thumbs. Missed a layer of plates, had to remove the next layer (nothing compared to some rebuild stories, I know)

Built bags 1 & 2 of the Caterham.  A bit concerned, as I had two pairs of 1x2 plates (dark blueish grey and brick yellow) left over at the end of Bags 1.  Went back over the instructions twice, but just don't see where I might have left them out... ;-(

@ecmo47 I email pictures to myself to get them off my smartphone. Paint works fine for simple resizing, or cropping the right or bottom, but it's easier to use other photo editors for cropping the left or top.

easy way with paint for any area: select area, copy, new image (ctrl+n), then paste

Most such pictures are too high res to be on the screen all at once *to* select.

Started the huge MegaBloks model of the starship Enterprise - really makes me miss the numbered bags of LEGO - hard to find the bag with the right part and deal with so many opened bags. The fit of the pieces is quite decent, only a few a bit tight or a bit loose. That's my big weekend project but I still might need more time.
Finally started Brick Bag number 4 bags, mostly finished in about an hour while watching TV
#41562 Trumpsy - parted it out ages ago, decided to build it, but I already sold some of the parts. Today I bought another when I saw it on sale.

ctrl+scrollwheel to zoom in or out :P

also: the usual recommention: boxes instead of bags, better to search thru.
numberless is a real challenge though... might do it, too next time i get a bigger set again. (first and last time for me was beginning of this year with 5400 pieces)

@josekalel  I'm not entirely sure. Should've counted as I went. They all have a center spine that is reinforced with staggered technic beams. I got the idea from the dorsal wing of 75081. Makes them extremely stable. You can hold them sideways and they don't even flex. So that added quite a bit to the parts count. They're predominantly 2xN bricks so they're easy to come by. Lots of Bricks and Pieces orders for the windows.

ctrl+scrollwheel doesn't seem to work on windows XP paint, maybe it works with later versions

@Vortex That has happened to me. I will usually crop the photo or adjust the resolution and then it attaches. Maybe give that a shot?

Exam tomorrow, so took a well deserved break from revision to build #75160 U-Wing. Wasn't so sure about the microfighters line to start with, but seem to have acquired quite a few now. Really grown on me and the couple that I've actually got around to building have been pretty enjoyable too.

You're both right. It's the Mortesv designed, EKae reverse engineered, Ecmo47 beta tested CR-90. Making several mods as I work through the plans. The spine is VERY solid so looking forward to +10 swoosh factor!

Built one of my two #31051 lighthouses last night. Love the way the light brick works, and it looks like modding it into a bigger lighthouse would be fun using the second set.

I reckon this could have been a set on its own , Escape from Isengard "

Howeverrr... I simply can't imagine how many more Saruman and" Gandalf the Same" figures can we endure . I already have 4 of each atleast .

Brought #40256 - Create the World today to take me up to the £40 spend to use a voucher - got home, thought it's a small set, don't need the instructions i'll just build it.

Weeeellll, I used all the parts, and it's definitely a vehicle of some sort, but when i had finished it didn't much look like the car on the box.

Perhaps next time whilst building I should look at the picture on the box as a reference? :)

Not a Lego set, per se, but my wife and I welcomed our first into the world yesterday. Family was built by one yesterday. A future _FOL awaits! I figure I'll have lots of time hanging out in the living room while he's sleeping (I hope!) to build the queue. #4002016 50 Years On Track awaits.

Congratulations on the addition to the family.
Look on the bright side, If the baby doesn't sleep through you will want something to do in the middle of the night when you get woken up so win win. ;)

The sith infiltrator. that's interesting because that's the 1st time I have an updated version of a model I already own, so I'm curious to see how much it has improved. (I have the 1999 one)

Began my #31050 MOC/MOD...not going well so far. I started with two sets but I need the third one, since I don't have enough bricks to complete the first floor with the brown bricks.

Used parts from two recent BrickLink orders
    Finished #41560 Jamzy
Replaced the remaining lime tiles in my soccer field with green ones
Added to my common bricks by color collection
Added to my minidoll crowd, including some components I got when parting out sets. Dropped 1 head down the heat vent, guess I'll get an extra next BL order

Started on another Star Trek MegaBloks set DPH82 Enterprise bridge - biggest box in my queue and I have a Trek DVD set right now.
extra minifigure, I could deal with TLG being that kind of sloppy. I dislike the lego building experience less, though.
on a lego forum talking aobut MB, building a TOS model while watching TNG - now that's religious tolerance. :P

Building a bricklinked #3724 but decided to not get the 2x8 bricks and replace them by 2 2x4s until I got suck. That worked out beautifully, have not needed any 2x8 for structural integrity yet... except that I didn't think through that I'd need 96 extra 2x4 bricks to replace them...
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 USAMember Posts: 1,393
@sid3windr - I think I bought green 1x8s instead of the 2x4s. I think I also used some yellow 1x8 on the inside where they wouldn't be visible.

  • sid3windrsid3windr BelgiumMember Posts: 1,365
Good point, there is no real reason to use green on the inside. That would allow me to recuperate quite a few bricks! Also a great tip for the 1x8s !

^ At the hotel at Legoland Florida, they have a these huge pits with blue, green, yellow, red and black bricks. I looked in there and to my shock, there were hundreds and hundreds of the green 2x8s, all scratched to hell. It was sad.

Finally watch Moana last night and built #41150 Moana's Ocean Voyage immediately afterwards, which I bought a while back at 30% off.

Nice movie and cute set, but pretty simplistic in my opinion... how many sets do I need to buy to do a proper Kakamora MOC? ;-)

@ecmo47 that ship looks familiar ... no wonder, CR-90 is the class/model of the Tantive IV

Finished the MegaBloks Enterprise bridge model.
The build got a lot easier near the end, maybe because there were fewer parts to look through, as expected. In general, I love seeing models take shape. When fully assembled, it's hard to disconnect the sections, but that might be good for model stability. The sections weren't quite level, but that might be me or my building surface rather than MegaBloks.
I decided to display it with the characters sitting down. A pin attaching to the back is odd, but maybe it allows for the figures to look more realistic, somewhat like minidolls. The set didn't come with Chekov, so I grabbed him from Day of the Dove (that set is relatively cheap and an army builder, so him missing from this set isn't so much of a problem). I also grabbed a random redshirt to fill the sixth chair.
Next is the transporter room (based on Mirror Mirror), then back to LEGO. Lakeside Lodge, Robo Explorer and Yellow Submarine are the only sets I haven't started yet. MOC idea I haven't started yet is another question.

Right, so I'm building this, bought at John Lewis before available at Lego.com:

It's a fab build - a lot of thought has gone into how it works and how it gets to the other two models.

The instructions came in a cellophane packet, which I was pleased by :

    And the finished model:

Really fun, and makes me want the Saturn V even more!
