Is it ok to post screenshots to discuss them in this thread?
On another note - I guess the shield packs vary by batch; I thought it was limited to the one pack I picked up where the blue shield included was a duplicate of what I already had and the rest were different. Bought a couple more packs and this time I got three duplicates and two new ones. I got them from the Lego store and two different targets. I check the shields, but I guess you gotta check all of them if you're a completist.
Great! I only watched up to Episode 5 before; now I can figure out how the many NK sets I have bought so far play out in the story ;-)
I'm a little bit late to this Theme, but with TRU Canada offering Clearance prices on most first year winter wave sets and the Buy one get one half off deal for Clearance sets I started picking up the ones I've wanted. Have high hopes to get Jestro's Evil-Mobile by the end of the month, but not making any commitments.
I have to admit the Theme certainly has it's charm, the colours alone are quite impressive and the Fantasy meets Science Fiction combination is really a 'can't go wrong' kind of combination. I've found myself impressed with these sets more than Ninjago honestly, perhaps because the Designers have learned from those early years of Ninjago to better incorporate parts and elements into the vehicle designs. I'm a huge fan of the new book element as well and wish they'd bring back Harry Potter if just to get more magic tomes to populate my LEGO universe.
I'll probably get around to posting my reviews on the sets I've gotten some time this year, however I will say this much with Nexo Knights, LEGO as always never fails to impress, and unlike certain Star Wars sets the play features are consistently more entertaining here.
As far as the blind packed powers are concerned, I hate OCD compulsions for blind bagged products, because I just know I'm going to wind up with loads of duplicates before all is said and done.
Also I really wish LEGO would bring back Ice Planet 2002, the oranges and blues together are just hitting me with all the nostalgic feels right now.
Mind you, for Nexo Knights specifically, I do think the Forbidden Powers "fit in" a little better than the books did, both conceptually and as a gameplay element. But for LEGO in general I'm kind of sad that the decrease in books in these themes hasn't been balanced out with an increase in books in other themes.
Hadn't noticed the one for the Silent Mary! Good eye!
Yeah, Mark Stafford and Samuel Johnson confirmed in the comments of that "Nexo Knights ending?" article that the rumors were a bunch of hooey,
Has that article been removed? I'm unable to locate it now. Not that those very constructive comments will be missed. As somebody summarized it elsewhere on the forum: "If only TLG would dedicate 100% of their releases to sets *I* like, they'd make billions!". Well, they already do, but thanks, I guess?
It's still there but edited:

I'm actually kinda miffed the article got removed, if only because I ended up creating this meme image describing the comments section and I'm sad I won't be able to use it within the correct context:
:P
Neither the black/trans green colour scheme mentioned in the vid nor the names of the set indicate anything resembling the forest/marsh villains from the book of monsters though. Sea monsters are also out of the picture as these would be too similar to those in the Ninjago Movie.
Still exited though, I really like the theme.
I want the forest monsters too. Like this guy...
I had a Google but found nothing.
