Took about 2 hours, but I finally got all 369 of them to stand still. :)

What's the point of owning Mr. Gold if you aren't going to open him and put him together. I get there's a stupidly huge investment value in the cheeky bugger, but if I owned one I'd at least want to see him on the shelf with all the other Minifigures, even if opened his value would plummet.

I don't collect for value, and never did truly understand it, but to each their own I suppose.

That kind of looks like a modular... why does that look like somebody merged Friends with a modular design???

Also that number design doesn't match any known sets in the Database, I'm calling fake on that image.

I think it some MOC combination of set #3315 and #10182 when looking at the set number.

Personally, I don't get any more enjoyment out of staring at a 2" plastic figure versus having him sit in a plastic bag. I prefer to have the flexibility that if I want to go on a vacation to Disneyland, I'm one sale away.

it's also way too pink, even for friends. if I'm not mistaken, "girly" colors are mostly used as accents in friends sets.

So Mr. Gold is worth at least 50 Grand these days? Or am I missing something, with hotels, plane fair, food, LEGO shopping and everything else I'd estimate needing at least that much to enjoy any sort of vacation.

Really hating LEGO's exclusivity garbage with Mr. Gold even more now. Stupid OCD.

Eh, I don't. I don't drive so I'd probably have to pay for a taxi, or get into the actual Disney owned Hotels on the property. Which would be extremely better, if pricier, than having to figure out Florida. I went when I was a teenager with my parents, my dad got lost driving down there, real pain. So 50 thousand is what I'd consider necessary for a comfortable, safe and enjoyable vacation. Plus as a bonus I could have left overs for next time.

Um, a very nice vacation to WDW for a family of four can run you about $6,500.00. (Airfare, rooms, food, park tickets, some spending money.)

But there are lower cost ways, and ridiculously extravagant ways as well.

Agreed Sumo. I just took the family to Disneyland in January. I did a bunch of gift card hunting the year leading up to it and was able to completely cover our tickets, food, and souvenirs at no out of pocket cost. Used miles for the flights. So only had to pay for our hotel. 5 day trip ended up costing us $750 for a family of four.

Granted the year of gift card hunting I did (survey sites and the such) was a HUGE time investment probably worth $6,500 of my time...but whatever.

I did however finally get around to built set #75096 (Sith Infiltrator) the other night this week. Awesome ship! Fun build, super minifigs, and alas a faceless Maul, so I contacted CS this afternoon, and TLG will be sending me a new head with face printing.
Glad to hear someone wiped that smile off his face.

My Mr. Gold for a Disney vacation analogy became a lot more literal than I intended...

Although I'm glad that it sparked a very intellectual conversation about Disney travel, ticket, and airfare rates.

Another lesson to never doubt the randomness of the Brickset forum ;)

Finally my current pool of MOC parts have been catalogued (turns out my estimate was wrong, all up, 10,446 parts), now to add the sets I hadn't gotten around to parting out. Any guesses for how many parts I'll end up with?

Expecting to dip in the rankings a bit as I remove those sets from my Brickset data.

On a self imposed buying ban for a bit as I am rapidly running out of display space and the room is a total mess.....went to Sainsburys for some shopping, walked down the toy aisle and the 20% off selection of City sets. Came out empty handed.

I also got asked for ID when buying Mrs Speedman some champagne truffles for Mothers Day, I was 40 a couple of weeks ago, the checkout girl thought I was under 25. Quite flattered!

^ When I was 19 and purchasing wine with my Mother, the cashier insisted on her ID, and told me I was clearly in 30's.

First time I've seen a cashier get a tip for excellent service.

I was right in missing your posts that was a funny one...

On topic: I was only getting the dragon that came with ragana's extra bit of the castle and some baby ones. Still, I've now got the green and the blue one. These are pretty nice I've got to say, and very stable. Still, one can never have enough dragons, right?

Always be flattered when asked for ID - the amount of people I've seen get annoyed about it always astounds me, you are literally being told you look young, most people would love being told that!

So hubby and daughter went off to toys r us yesterday and got me the hot dog truck for my mothers day gift. Then they built it without me while I was sleeping which is sort of sweet but some of the stickers have been put on a bit wonky!

OK if we are going to be picky Mother's Day in the UK is actually called Mothering Sunday and is connected with Easter and it's date is a specific time during Lent so it's a movable date each year.

I think Mother's Day is in May in lots of other places. My sister lives in the Hague and sends my mum a card when it's Dutch Mother's Day on the grounds that she can only get a card then. Never mind that she could buy one online and my mum doesn't speak Dutch... I suppose at least she sends something!
