At what point does "borrowing" the dining table make it a permanent Lego table?
When the hutch that came with the table is also full of Lego.  And if you haven't entertained guests in six months.

Is it wrong that I went to IKEA last night on the pretext of measuring up and choosing furniture for the kids new bedrooms and spent the time eyeing up kallax and Billy shelving for lego instead?
    That's just good planning.

Ikea kallax and 9L really useful boxes for loose part storage.

That looks so awesome @Briking ! The family can eat sandwiches while they admire your display, as long as they don't drop any crumbs. :-)

I really like how you modded out the buildings. That black and white one with the arches over the windows looks great.

Your flooring confuses me.  Carpet?  Laminate?  Just a sub-floor.

Ah, the dot pattern through me off.

I have a super-crappy mauve carpet that serves the same purpose.  I can't wait to replace it.

Sadly, we have no display area in this house...not really any appropriate space to do so. But I did just finish re-doing "the LEGO closet" with shelves that better accommodate everything. Fit in whatever has been purchased over the last 5 years and still have a bit of room for more.
This is awesome !!! Jealous now ....

@SumoLego I thought it was an Indiana Jones type trap to catch unruly children found trying to sneak into the room and touch the display.

Or, if he spends too much on Lego and ends up in the dog house at least he'll be close to his Lego.

@littletoki are those boxes stacked three high in your closet?  Does it affect the integrity of the box?  I have always wondered.

Just replaced the bulk of the carpeting in my house with a pet friendly hardwood floor. The amount of dust coming out of the carpet was ridiculous. We are going to be finishing replacing the carpet in the winter. If you have pets I advise not putting in carpet in any large rooms or rooms that you store/display lego sets in.
