Finished my first 'semi' moc (poison ivy/prison island) and despite limited selection and quantity of parts thought it turned out ok. Just need to track down an ivy though! Now to figure if a lotr pirate ship will look ok floating by it.

Successfully denying my temptation to take a 3-hour round trip drive to an estate sale that has pictures of dozens of Star Wars and City LEGO sets, some taken apart in a couple of large bins and some still in boxes. This LEGO siren song hasn't even caused me to have to lash myself to anything to avoid getting in my car. Of course, I think this speaks more to how much I have spent on LEGO in the last two months than necessarily my strong will power.

I would like to actually go to some lego events this year. Does anyone know what events (and when) are on this year in the UK? Preferably in the south east of England (or even better London!). I could maybe make it as far west as the one in Swindon (anyone know the dates) and I could maybe go north to Birmingham? Thanks if anyone can help - or point me to somewhere on the forum /internet that tells me this. Thanks again.
Are you trying to compare PitfallCon with other events? You could not be more wrong. PitfallCon is more of a "happening" than an event ;)

now i just have to move some stuff around, and my display space for lego models is going to go up by about 70%.
(this has been on the back burner for over 1 year.)
it will be nice to have more room to display my models.

Had a good LEGO day, rebuilt the RC tracked racer into the B model, not quite as good as the motors are high up and it just likes to pull wheelies and endos!

Popped to town and found the Great Lego Sets book for 70% off in WHSmiths. Then in JL they had the Batmobile for £45. Birthday money all gone now!

    early Easter Gift.
as a kid mum worked out that i was hiperactiv. it was trigger by some types of food.
(normal food with E numbers in it. the one's linked to artificial color and flavoring. that why you see stuff with "No artificial color and flavoring added" nowadays.)  the point is when i had a hiperactiv episode i would be uncontrollable and i would not recall anything i did. (one time at school i was told a ran around the class room jumping from table to table, at the time there was only kid's in the room, one of my class m8, who had a hard punch, hit me hard, so i was told after, and i just got right back up and when back to what i was doing.) as i said i never remember this but when your class tells you all the same thing. i had to take it as i did that.
anyhow back on point. one of the thing that would trigger a hiperactiv episode was any item made from "a coco been" so Easter Egg's was a big no no for me.
so i never felt left out at Easter mum would buy me a gift, normally a toy, for Easter.
now, i dont know if i can have a hiperactiv episode anymore. but i still get Gift's for Easter (aka this year the bookcase's.)

    am i 13?
i think a little part of anyone who likes Lego has a part of there self that is still a child.
so in my mind? maybe part of it. in Body? sadly no i am not. i am way to old in body for my liking.

Finally saw TLBM. Definitely an enjoyable experience whether people are into LEGO or not, as evidenced by my wife's giggling. There were a few places where it definitely slowed down the pace for an extended time, but it was generally a lot of fun.

I avoided a 40 minute round trip bike ride in the cold; the chief purpose would have been to go through a case of TLBM CMFs. Does that count?
Maybe I didn't miss much. I double checked the values and Vacation Batman is the only one significantly above MSRP. I'm busy enough with existing inventory. The only one I want myself is a couple Glam Metal Batman, which I haven't managed to find yet.

Maybe it will be harder to escape from than Arkham Asylum; the batfamily could use a bat-break. :)

With TLBM, as usual for movies, my cheap works at a library self is waiting for the DVD

making errors while a technic build sucks... but when you have some luck you can "shortcut-access" the errored part to fix.

Nice that your mum still gets you an Easter gift @chrisalddin even if it can't be an actual egg. I think my 'lego age' is about 9. I love all the Friends sets and like 'treating' myself with my pocket money (ie what's left from the housekeeping) to minifigs and say "it's so unfair I want that" to the really expensive sets.

My status is grrrr! Was on bag #4 of assembly square when I figured out I was missing a piece, normally this wouldn't be too much of an issue bc I have a good surplus of parts but it was missing #26604 1x1 brick with studs on two sides. Now I am in a holding pattern. Good thing I have Big Ben not yet assembled.

@bookmum - I just had an email from BrickLive events. There's a London show in July that you might be interested in. I expect it'll be incredibly busy as it's in the summer holidays but hey ho.

    My own statuses:
firstly, that feeling when you change a set from "wanted" to "owned" - you check the box which turns the line green and then untick the orange one and everything is right with the world, at least until you see the other orange lines...b

secondly, when you cut your nails, realise that this will make that dissemble job so much harder and then start looking at BrickLink to find which sets you own have a separator in them.

It was really good to have finally met and thank you so much for the 'Belgian' beer and chocolates etc.  Kids had a great time and good to see Jake the Dog helping your son get over his fear of four-legged friends.  Impressive.

I'm a little more fearful of my next Bricksetter meet.  Lord knows what I've let myself in for.

@TheMaker37 Have you definitely not misplaced that brick.
I often think a brick is missing but have another look around and find it in part of the model where it should not be or down the side of my armchair or even under my desk. :) Problem solved.
In 4000 sets I have never had a brick missing from a Lego set.

thought in a early stage of #42066 that i was short by a 1xsomething half thickness liftarm. was on my way to dig thru my spare parts storage when i spotted the part (it tried to hide from searching for some reason). i really wonder how those parts manage to hide in plain sight sometimes, its almost like they got a cloaking device to evade from getting seen completely until you are trying to get a replacement. (most extreme case was a 6x14 plate hiding (!!!) i really wonder how that happened... )

@Venunder , @masterX244 I have a pretty controlled building area and have learned from my early days how pieces can willingly cling to the corner of a small baggie so I never dispose of the bags until the section is complete. I did spend a fair amount of time searching in vain for the piece.

I called TLG and they are sending me 4 of them. First time I ever had to do that and they were great, I initially gave them the wrong part number and called them back and are sending me all 8 pieces anyways. So I scored!!! The little guy WINS!!! 16 cent bonus on my end;) Winning! Bigly!

funny thing was that the part hid between others in a box (i always move my parts over to boxes instead of the bags and no other parts are allowed in build area at those times. , the black beam porbably managed to hide between slightly different parts, and that 6x14 was a extremely weird case of selectve vision)

Just finished building the Brick Bank! The build was great and I like the techniques that they used in it. A great purchase in my opinion.

Got myself collection of Historical warriors, thanks to lots of trades over the last year.

Not totally sure about the box, it's much cheaper than the full plastic one but figs so seem to lean a bit (like the conquistador). Plus, you can't really see them from the sides.

Still, good for now and proud of them together.

They are great for my kids room. I got her 4 and I am mounting them to the wall.

Finally got all the parts for a Modular Building MOD. (The last order was SLOW and they messed up on one or two parts.)

Sorting in progress. Pictures when I get round to building it.

^welcome in the club :), its always the last order that snailmails superslow... worst variant is the parcel coming as late as possible in the day when you have holidays. and even when you check all after arrival sometimes errors sneak thru, got surprised by a wrong color in the middle of building due to that..., kludge'd something together from spare parts

So I'm guessing there are adult fans of playmobil too - because I can't imagine many children that are into playmobil are quite the age to be that interested in Ghostbusters!! (I have a soft spot for playmobil but don't collect it - if I had the money or space....)

Happy International Women's Day Everyone! :)

I truly mean this when I say it, but I really respect all genders. My Mom taught me to never judge someone by their gender and color, and I think we all need that thought more than ever. Here's an interesting article I read about LEGO girl minifigures represented in sets:

My biggest complaint about the source material for the set is that Tina Fey wasn't in this movie. I like Lemon.
