    ^ Where? lol.  All of my targets either still have them at full price or only have them marked down to $62 or something.  Keep checking waiting for them to drop.

    Targets in/around twin cities MN have had a lot of those #75103 at half price lately. Closest one to me had probably 40 last week, but they were gone today when I checked.

    hard to use constraction as part packs though. most regular sets like 75103 are killer deals at half off

    Yup. Seems to be the only discounted battle pack. But since the MSRP is now $15 apiece, that's a great discount on a new set.

    No new sales in store this week, but saw a few #30354 Hot Rod on top of the racks of #30279, all still at $3.49

    A couple batman CMF bags lying around, got vacation batman and passed on Harley Quinn
    The few S16 bags I checked were nothing special

    Some #30352 and #30400 in the Easter display, but at full price
    Tray of a few dozen batman cmf and a few dozen more on the s16 rack, i think a full case that got scattered, found 3 each of the ones I want
    S16 rack must be already searched, 100+ bags, 2 rogue no babysitter

    Nope.

    It depends 1) when Target identifies the items a salvage; 2) when Target donates them; and 3) when Goodwill has the manpower and time to stock them.

    This is why I don't buy CMF anymore. I don't trust that the figs haven't gotten through a whole bunch of middle-aged men's fingers.

    Middle aged.. teenager.. kids.. men ...woman, I have seen the gambit of people feeling for the figures they want. That is fine (and I have hand sanitizer gel in my car), to be honest there have been times where I have gone through a rack of what appeared to be searched, but found 'sought after' (imo) figures, which goes to show you that 'sought after', like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. I found one pack for a series was left on an empty rack and it was a hotdog guy.. you never really know until you either feel them, or buy the pack.

    I'm no germaphobe, to put it mildly, so that doesn't bother me about CMF displays. Yet you do have to examine carefully in case someone else took the ones you want, and it takes practice with a series to make accurate identifications. Sometimes it does seem random what figures aren't there.
    I had examined the S16s before, seeing if I missed any or they put out more

    Everyone feeling for CMF's should do so with a sharpie and just mark 1-16 (or -20) on the back to make everyone's life easier (or worse if you're a dick).

    Considered writing character name, but:
    could be a problem for people who want mint condition bags, might lead to more questions from store security, confuse n00bs, what if I'm wrong?
    I spend too long examining CMF bags as is, and I might not exactly identify a figure if I know it's one I don't want.

    When CMF were new, S1-4, someone at my local the target would sort the box (by bar-code, I think), and leave post-it notes indicating which figures were which.  Somewhat helpful, but all of the sought-afters would disappear quickly.

    When I buy them, if I am not opening them right away I use little circular stickers and write what figure is in the bag, and then put the sticker on the bag. The adhesive also is not really great so it will not damage the package.

    I do that with my "extras": once a set is complete and I "accidentally" purchased extra CMFs, I tape a mini post it to the bag indicating what is (I believe) inside.

    I've taken to only ordering CMFs online.  Not because of germs but just from being sick of getting too many undesirables.  I bought maybe 8 or 9 Batman CMFs from stores and got 0.0 Batmans.  Half the set is Batman variations!!!

    Even at 25% I should have got 1.  I gave up on feeling them.  I've never been good at it, and I find it to be an incredible waste of time.  I prefer just ordering a bunch online and letting the kids have fun opening them.  If we get doubles, I keep the doubles. After we get down to the point where we are only missing 3-4, I order the rest on Ebay. 

    Definitely not as cost effective, but when adding in the cost of time and standing in brick and mortar stores feeling up packages for 15 - 30 minutes feeling like a weirdo, maybe not even finding the ones I want because they've been picked over, and it's just not the better option for me.  But I don't judge those who do, it's probably easier for some.

    On a trip to Walmart, the KNEX Mario figures were like $1.50 in the clearance section and I decided I wanted some for my desk, so I worked on feeling those based on the pictures on the packages for parts that would stand out. I thought I had both a Mario and a Luigi. When I got home, I had a Diddy Kong and Yoshi...

    Practice makes perfect I suppose. It wasn't until somewhere around the first Simpsons series that I became halfway decent at it. But I still buy a bunch at random when a series first comes out and don't start the feel process until I'm down to needing less than half of them usually.

    I'm guessing you are speaking of buying 'presorted' figures of the ones you want (or a set) than buying packs from a site like TRU or [email protected]
    If you are buying them from TRU or [email protected], I believe you will get far more 'undesirables' buy buying them online (and letting a warehouse working take a chunks of packs in a box) vs grabbing random packs in a store (even without feeling them).
    I have gotten FAR more extras (usually of commons) buying them from sites like [email protected]

    I do not know what I'm feeling at first, but each series for me takes a bit of practice as to what to feel for and how said part 'feels's in the bag, but once I got it, 'I got it' so to speak.
    It is also why I buy a set from someone like @MinifiguresPlus. Mostly it is due to not wanting to empty 2/3 of a box of two sets because I want one for me and one for my GF, but it is also because I do not want to feel for every figure in a set. I have no issues feeling for an extra figure I want after I got my set from online, but I would definitely search/feel for the figures that would cost me an extra buck or two to get from someone who bought them to resell them on eBay for a premium because you know what the figure is.

    The knex figures have a code pattern. A serial number embossed on the packaging. The number may or may not be the same from package to package but what is important is which number is underlined. That is always the same from figure to figure.  Look up the assortment you have in front of you and find the code pattern and you will get the correct one every time, assuming it's still in the case.

    Since I did this randomly while looking for discounted LEGO, there wasn't much thought that went into this, but if I see these discounted like this again, I will look into your advice. Thanks!

    I've never actually purchased a sealed CMF at a store so I am not too worried about my overall package-feeling skills. I bought one Disney CMF when they were discounted on [email protected] as a way to get my purchase to meet a certain reward threshold.

    Looks like target started reducing prices on their website for a lot of Lego. They didn't add the deals section back to the Lego category page, and although there are a couple of items under the sale filter there are actually lots of items reduced that don't show up on the filter. They have black prices but have small grey text with list prices next to them. On the item page it shows the percent discount but no offer details. There are some items with reduced prices (looks like matching Amazon) with no list price or discount percent too. I'm glad they're adding some discounts online again but it's pretty annoying to look through now...

    I noticed they'd reduced the price of some of the larger superhero sets in store, the Scarecrow one and the Killer Croc and possibly another. I think the discounts were about 20%. It wasn't clearance but I haven't checked any other Targets to see if they'd done the same.

    CMF bags at checkout, a dozen or so TLBM no Vacation or Lobster. A couple dozen S16, 2 Rogue and 2 Babysitter, first of the baby I've found in awhile.

    None of these fancy clearances at my store. :(

    That is interesting, because that is how LEGO envisioned the CMFs being originally, an impulse buy for kids in the checkout line.

    BUT you also have to remember that originally these were 1.99 and really a target for impulse buys. After LEGO saw the demand for these it did not take them long to bump the price to 2.99, then 3.99 (and yes I get that the cost of manufacturing does rise) and most stores keep them either in the toy aisle, or electronics counters. The other problem with the CMFs are they have been priced at a point where people would rather steal them than pay the 4 dollars. So as a result in many stores they have to be put in a place where some clerk can keep an eye on them.  The Target's by me typically have them on an end cap and not at the electronics counters.

    If they go higher than 3.99 then it is not worth it to me. Especially when many of the special parts that used to only be in CMFs show up in sets, and also in BaM bars at LEGO stores.

    Just scored a 75103 for 50% off. It seems like my Target in Massachusetts is clearing out the back room. YMMV - we never get these kind of deals here but there were piles of random stuff that had not been on the shelves for a while.

    I'm annoyed only because the checkout is another place where I have to look and I have less room to feel/weigh packs there. Granted, I scan the checkout area for polybags anyway, which is how I came across the CMFs.

    Targets here in MN are lousy with #75103 , some at 30% off, most at 50% off. Lots of #75109 as well. I'd love to know where big piles of a single set come from when they show up on clearance like that. Same thing happened with #21117.

    Picked up 76048 for $21. They also had a few angry bird sets for 50% off, but I didn't buy any.

    Try to remember the # in front of your set numbers folks. It makes it so much easier to look them up.
