1 or more or nearly all LOTR & Hobbit sets.
3 x Jabba's Sail Barge #75020
1 x Galactic Titan #70709
6 x Technic Ocean Explorer #42064
1 x Constitution Train Chase #79111
and 10,000 new parts in 120 lots from a bulk order, mainly Light and Dark Blue Gray and Black.
@asfarinha
My bins are labeled on all sides except the bottom - what color (colors for multiple low quantity colors, type of piece for high quantity colors divided between multiple bins). Those contain labeled bags; it's fairly easy to find the right one of those especially since I'm getting closer to one lot per bag.
good to catch up on that after a week where I was so busy filling current orders
Listed some of my excess personal stockpile - white bricks tonight - more, particularly red and blue bricks, hopefully coming soon.
But I guess I would have been in trouble if one did come through, as there was a bit of LEGO chaos going on with all the new storage and parting out...
Now that all is tidy the orders can resume! :P
I'm not worried about keeping them as a customer- I never want them shopping with me again.
Added this week:
1 x @75149 Resistance X-wing
5 x @60007 High Speed Chase
4 x @60073 Service Truck
1 x @4958 Monster Dino (2007)
1 x @9397 Logging Truck
Maybe it's the calm before the storm and I'll be getting a massive order like that one.
Parted out 6 copies of 75136 Droid Escape Pod, so if someone is looking for a mini Jawa army I'm your man.
Was crazy busy this weekend after a particularly tiring week of non-BL stuff. I got a few orders out Saturday, but some I ended up working on Sunday to mail Monday. I wasn't too busy Monday, but a small order wasn't as quick to sort as I hoped and then I got paid for another.
One buyer asked about repeat customer discount coupons. I don't usually use coupons, but I gave him one for 5% off his next order. maybe I'll expand this. Awhile ago one seller gave me a similar coupon for a small order problem. I rarely buy on BL but maybe I'll go shopping soon.
I haven't gotten around to parting out some sets I picked up about a week ago, let alone listing more of my used pile. I did add a #30546
I finally deleted the oversized bubblemailer charge from my terms and splash page. Since getting a Sunuku shipment and using up my old ones, I've gotten a few orders that I didn't enforce it on. Don't wanna scare off big customers. Also, I don't need to guess if one will be needed or pack an order ahead of time, which speeds up invoicing. I don't have to deal with getting it wrong.
@KingAlanI a couple of months ago I started sending coupons for 5% off the next order within a month. Can't say I've seen many returning customers, but with so many other variables it's hard to reach a conclusion.

Many CMF price cuts
I've been adding discounts for buying all of a lot where I have more than 10. Here that means Arabian Knight, Banana and Penguin
I avoid 13 in prices; I'm not superstitious but customers might be. 42c and $4.20 are goofy. 69c makes sense though. I've started using half cent prices up to 20c rather than 10c
Tonight, besides working on orders, I finally added the used dark bley modified brick from a job lot I got at a garage sale last spring
2 #41099 - already bought them and was checking value, might as well go all the way through parting them out. Kept 1 dog figurine and the minidoll bodies - listed the helmet and will remove 2 regular hairpieces from inventory
2 #41177 sans minidolls. I couldn't find a couple pieces in an order I was sorting, but they were available in this set, so that was on my mind to do next
I remember I sold the one from #41180 pretty quickly, and I believe the 2 from #41176 as well
Just parted out 5 #40161
@Rakul is anything different about 41178 compared to other sets with dragon figurines? brick built dragons are another issue - sometimes the special parts sell well, sometimes not. (41178 has both)
currently down about $75 for the year with inventory up about $750, plus orders not yet paid for
@Rakul well, that helps explain it
Anyone else find it odd to use 'lot' in its regular sense after so much time on BL?
@Rakul well, that helps explain it
EDIT: was having technical difficulties earlier, hadn't noticed that the 1st post had gone through
just opened a store. have circa 37000 pieces, but sorting and ading more daily. should be up to 100000 in a month lol
Got a ton of sorting done today, some updating inventory (sometimes short 1 on tiny pieces, often changed price and added tiered pricing)
@uriel opening with 37,000 pieces is a fast start, took me months to get to that level. that's about when my store took off, helps get peoples' attention and makes shipping and handling worthwhile. The few things I checked prices on seem high in USD terms. I'm not sure if exchange rate is the whole story. I go a bit below average, you somewhat above average. You might still get sales if you're willing to wait
when I finish adding everyting then I'll focus on pricing and the splash page etc... sounds weird, but selling isnt the priortiy now :D the priortiy is to put evertyhing in place so that when the orders come, I can find what I need fast :) most of the suff was bought at high discounts and usually I've already made a profit by selling te minifigures. the bricks are gravy hehehe
Once a buyer apologized for only ordering a 19c piece, and got all 3 I had. Also a nice thought but still easier and larger than some orders.
*I often use X/Y as shorthand for X lots Y pieces
I spent a lot of time tonight organizing my inventory of white pieces even with 2 orders to ship, beyond what was needed to pull parts for those orders.
@uriel
I want to get prices right to begin with so I don't lose peoples' attention. Even so, I often end up lowering prices when managing inventory later.
Wanted list notifications include initial price and I know I've ignored some for price.
Sorting and labeling is a never ending process.
Once at a garage sale I got a couple #6166 size bins of LEGO for $15, including a Deadpool minifig, which alone went for about $25. I've made plenty of other sales and those orders usually include new parts as well (my hypothesis being that they might not have bought one or the other)
That package that you should have mailed a week ago was your associate's fault, and you are severely sorry his mistake. And you are offering a discount on his behalf.
Works best if you don't have an associate to be mad at you.
Added a load of small sets, promo and seasonal.
Over 250,000 in over 5,000 lots and growing.
Recent parts outs, multiples of:
#60047
#75140
#76046
#6753

Last night I noticed the #40161 box opens on top like an Ideas set, so I could use that for storage. Right now they're storing unsorted parts from that set. :P
Added a 4th 30546 and 3rd 30607, and 2nd Vacation Batman and Zodiac Master from TLBM CMF
Part outs:
More of sets I'd already added - 5 40156, 1 41233, 2 40153, 2 40165
New - 8 #10603
@elspankdog I rarely have that kind of money while finding that quality of deal. congrats.
@Uriel
you mean buying display models? See if they're glued together for display. Even if not, parts that have been assembled can't be sold as new even after you disassemble them. Used with a note saying Like New perhaps.
50% off is usually a good deal on new sets, but I judge each set individually - value of parts divided by cost of set. I look for at least 2.13 (2 after BrickLink and PayPal fees), often 2.5, sometimes more.
I check prices by going through the process of parting out a set but not actually submitting.
A set with fewer different pieces or buying multiples of a set is proportionally easier to handle. This can be a problem with one-of purchase of used LEGO.
Here's the worksheet I use to help with such calculations: http://www.mediafire.com/file/rexqugg1kfcu8oe/Part_Out_Value.xlsx
Finally cleared my not yet listed backlog
3 #41142 - hadn't parted out any before, but was straightforward because I had so many lots in my inventory already, perhaps from parting out a lot of similar sets
#70319, and #41234 (sans minidoll body but including wing piece) had more unique pieces, and I only had 1.
5 #40236 (this year's Valentines set)
I've been giving bulk discounts for buying all of lots that are at least quantity 10. I do intermediate discounts at 42 and 100 when I have many more than that and can afford multiple levels of discounts; I've expanded when I'm willing to do that.
Always leave good feedback as a seller.
You can always take it back within a month if the buyer is a d#ck.
Sometimes I've gotten retaliatory negative feedback removed, but not bad FB in response to good.
Usually I have positive feedback as soon as I'm paid.
Sorted number 1 bags of 3 41117 - opened them earlier and pulled a few parts, didn't want to leave the open bags sitting around and didn't want to procrastinate by dumping them into a gripseal bag. I sorted additional things like usual - 'while I have this bag out', other bags containing more of the same pieces, etc. While I have this inventory page open, I'll adjust prices...Took much of the afternoon
Awhile ago, I found a Valentines gift kit including 3.5 x 6 bags with printed hearts. it seems fitting to use those for 40236 or 40165 parts.
In other news, after last week's sizeable enough part out of 6 copies of #41106 and a bit of procrastinating this weekend, I'm about to start another sizeable part out: 8 copies of #70590. Should keep me busy for most of the week (especially if I get some orders, which have been quite rare...).
I've placed a bunch of orders recently, and two have come back a bit different than I expected. I've been ordering LGB colored parts almost exclusively, but have received some white and light blue in the last two orders. Sure enough, when looking at the orders...these pieces are part of them.
I very well could have ordered these on accident, but I'm not so sure. Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm sorry to ask such a goofy question.
A seller can send an amendment request, usually where there is a part missing, but you have to accept the changes and they would reflect on the order.
