^That trench coat look on Batman is nice. Lego should follow through on that.

Do some goodwill locations just send all Lego straight to the auction site?  I have never seen any lego around me, not to say they arent just sold super quick.
I have never found Lego at Goodwill. I believe it all filters through their auction site. I've had luck at other chain second hand stores, however. The smaller charity stores seem to think they can price at or above retail and it will sell. Quick way to go out of business.
Yeah. Seattle and WA Goodwill does a good job collecting and auctioning their Lego donations on eBay. Some of those lots get out of hand fairly quickly.

^ So does that mean it excludes the Penguin set given that it's a hard-to-find exclusive?
That is EXACTLY what I thought....
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
They are just excluding the classic '66 Batcave with that wording. (Target sells it online) The penguin limo should work fine.

    I'm hoping.

But they have the Penguin car listed in the Hard to Find category:

The $10 off $50 deal on "Lego Batman" is now live.  The discount is automatically applied, so there's no need to add a promo code.  And, yes, the #70911 Arctic Roller is included (see screenshot, below). Though, "DC Comics"-branded sets are excluded.

Also, the #70905 Batmobile is still marked down to $53.99, so with the deal, if you just buy that, the effective price is $43.99 or 26.7% off full retail.

Other marked down sets include the #70906 Joker Lowrider ($44.49 / 10% off) and #70901 Mr. Freeze ($16.89 / $3.10 off).

And, I used the discount again in a second order -- for a #71344 Excalibur Batman, plus a #70901 Mr. Freeze and a #70903 Riddler Racer -- so, you should be able to use the discount on multiple online orders.

Also included in the $10 off $50 deal is the Chaos in Gotham City activity book with Tartan Batman (sh304), which is $6.81, but if you buy in quantities of 3, you get the third one free.  The $10 off discount is applied first and proportionally to all applicable items in the cart, so the Buy 2, Get 1 Free discount will not be the full $6.81.

A bit disappointed that the regular Batman super hero sets are not part of this promo (would have liked to get the scare crow set); but still getting the Batman Dimensions excalibur sets and the Riddler set.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,837
Just realized that the Mr Freeze set is discounted from 19.99 (16 dollars and change)

Placed two different orders for store pickup. Here is the damage done:

    Order 1: #70905 The Batmobile $53.99 - $10.00. Thanks @rd1899for the tip.

    Order 2:
    - #70903 The Riddler Riddle Racer $29.99
    - #71344 Excalibur Batman $11.99
    - The Essential Guide book $9.33 (down from $12.99) (will be shipped as it is not available in store)
    $51.31 - $10

I already have all the smaller sets, so went with the book to maximize the $10 discount.

#70910 Scarecrow Special Delivery is on my wantlist but it seems to be the only TLBM set Target doesn't have either in store or online. Might throw that in my next S@H order

Might get Chaos in Gotham City, keep the minifig and give away the book, particularly if I can use it as filler to hit $50

No other deals but did find #41561 which I want for my LEGO music collection (They also have #41562 but I parted it out awhile ago and still have key parts. I can likewise un part out #41560)

Dozens of #30279 not moving at $3.49 seems like bad business on their part as well as me looking for resale opportunities

As far as I know, retail exclusives are available at S@H, but not necessarily at their brick and mortar stores.

As @CircleK mentioned, #70910 Scarecrow Delivery is a Walmart exclusive. Just as #70911 The Penguin Artic Roller is a Target exclusive and #70912 Arkham Asylum is a TRU exclusive.

#30522 is designated as a seasonal item; #30279 never was. That's why.

I understand that, but as many of us have pointed out, Ben's Shuttle hasn't been selling well, the obvious choice would be to put them on clearance and make room for new polybags.

I wonder what their marketing regarding polybags is; I would rather have a new polybag every two months, and so on. Everything over six months gets the clearance boot.

  • norm103norm103 Member Posts: 302
The polys that rotate at the checklanes all use the same dpci so new ones will come in if old ones sale. If old ones don't sale your store will not get new ones up there. Target pushes new ones for the checklanes about ever two to three months.  Versus the ones in seasonal are only for that holiday so they have a different dpci and go on markdown with the rest of the stuff back there.

Well this stuff about the polybags is informative at least
Nexo ultimates half off #70337 Lance and #70338 General Magmar, still a mediocre deal for parts #70336 Axl and #70339 Flama still full price

Cartwheel for dimensions packs 30% off ending tomorrow

Look at the totality of what target sells and ask yourself how high on the priority list are the lego bags at the checkout counters. We notice,  but to target it's a lego branded impulse buY at the register.

#30522 is down to $1.19 now.  I'm surprised at how many are still available.  There's also some new clearance at Targets.  #70338 & #70337 Nexo Knights either $4.98 or $6.98.  SW First Order Transporter $44.98 saw about 40 at one Target.  Some some other Minecraft and Super Heroes stuff at 30% off.

I live in close proximity to 3 Target stores. Usually, the store that completes their seasonal reset first will sell through the polys as most of us like to buy the cool ones sooner than later. The leftovers will always end up in the store that reset last or when the seasonal merchandise wasn't pushed straight to the floor. There will be some happy kids if I manage to grab a few on clearance before they disappear.

Can anyone show a picture of the poster given away today?
    KingAlanI
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
I got the poster and the sticker sheet. Only thought to grab 1 of each, after I left, I remembered someone I know if who would like 'em. The guy handing them out knew about weighing and feeling CMFs; he doesn't know if and when they'll get more TLBM ones.
I have a folder for small flat objects like the sticker sheet. I got the poster home in relatively decent shape with a regular size bag (and could've put another bag around the other end)
Maybe I'll take a picture after I take my phone off the charger.

Weighing CMFs is a waste of time IMO, unless you have a really accurate scale, then it may be worth it, but then you are running around with a scale, which smacks of taking finding CMFs way too seriously. Is buying a sometimes accurate scale worth it to find 1 figure you are looking for? I doubt it. IMO Feeling them is a heck of a lot cheaper and more effective than running around with a scale everywhere.

Darn right I take this seriously. My scale is sensitive to a tenth of a gram. It was a few dollars at Harbor Freight Tools. Any less sensitive than that wouldn't do much good; I'm with you there. Sometimes I use weighing to confirm feel test or decide to examine a bag more closely, or vice versa. It helps get through dozens of bags somewhat resembling quickly. I already had it, for small packages and coins (some coin varieties are most readily told apart by slight weight differences).

Target.com and my store don't have CMFs so I can't check. I don't see any fine print that says anything either way. You might be able to convince a store employee to apply it if it doesn't ring up as such.

I put 3 in my cart and 2 Mr. Freeze. That counted as $50 to get $10 off even though it's less than $50 after the free item discount. Indeed, the free item discount was not the full $6.81. Similar for other multiples of 3 books - I might do that. I think if you use a mix of gift card and red card online, you get the full red card discount, not how it works in store.

The Valentine's Day polys, that are being clearances for $1 and some change, also count toward $10 off $50
  • SweepyDSweepyD Member Posts: 78
So I hit a Target with "30+" polys in stock. Even asked someone for help locating them and was told "they should be in valentines clearance, just dig through it" and that was the help I received.

Another Bricksetter said something similar about large purchases of baggies.

Sometimes store security wonders what's going on when feeling/weighing CMF packs - when I explain, they go on their way

Looks like the Target stores near me just pulled their #30522 stock instead of putting it on clearance. There had been so many of them up to Valentines, I cannot believe they suddenly sold out. These same stores did this with the Xmas poly bags too. Really disappointing of Target. I did find other varying sets on 30% clearance in each store, but nothing worth getting or nearly best price for them.

I also carry feel/weight guides for S15, S16 and Batman - maybe that would be sufficient evidence of non narcotics intent along with the lack of any evidence for that
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Carrying a scale with you in stores may be a little excessive, but whatever works. If you aren't good at IDing by touch, then I can see the utility. I am sure it can be reasonably efficient, but I would wager I could go about as fast as anyone with a scale just by feeling, especially since there are figures that probably weigh pretty much the same.

Reminds me of people calling Magic the Gathering cardboard crack, very true in both cases.

Didn't see any new sale signs or clearance. Besides the same old S16 display, there's a case of Disney CMF on the shelves.
