  My first motorised Technic set out of my Dark Age.  Loved it.

  I am an 81 yr old heavy equipment operator.   I am off work for three months, so thought I would build some construction sets.  I have built the 42009,42030,42053,
  42043 technic sets.   First builds for me in 81 yrs.  Took over a month.  Just concerned
  over the problems with the early sets.  Hopefully the one I am looking at on Amazon 
  will have the correct pieces.   Thanks!

  If Not LEGO customer service may still help those who got the earlier 8043 and send out a parts bag with the updated instructions (LEGO CS is pretty good like that)

  I have mine still sealed up. Haven't gotten around to building any of the big technic sets yet   how can you tell if it's the old set without building it,  or can you?

  While we tend to not discuss personnel preferences on the forum, I will say that 8043 is my all time favorite Technics set due to it's unmatched operate-ability.  It's got 4(!) motors to run all of its functions. (That giant wheel excavator only has one.) The model can pretty much mimic all of the functions of the real deal - tracks can turn independently of each other, the body swivels 360 degrees, and the arm has three powered joints. As a life-long equipment operator, you will certainly enjoy this set ALOT!

  I got three from Argos back in the day.  Each of them had an green rectangular sticker on It, presumably to indicate it was a corrected version and so a green light.

  @Legoboy I guess I'll just have to open it up and check. I don't recall seeing any green stickers. It's buried in my basement somewhere.
