I have 6 SW ships hanging from my mancave ceiling by 2lb fishing line. I have white cuphooks screwed into the ceiling, but the coarse thread on them is only biting into the plasterboard, so the sets are only light ones (system Vader's Tie #8019 + 2 systemTies (#9394 ?) Chasing/being chased by 2 system X-Wings (#9493 ?) and a system Y wing  around a Deathstar paper lantern light. They've been up over 3 years and haven't fallen down.

I want to hang Krennic's shuttle, but it will probably need multiple lines and hooks to spread the weight.

If that works then I might hang the Tantative IV.

^Wait, you're not just a monkey-hanger? You hang ships, too?

Is that ship the one commanded by a more hesitant captain that wouldn't allow Princess Leia on it with two suspect droids? Sorry, couldn't resist! :-)

@bandit778 - thanks for finding that post! I was going to look for it, and then I saw that someone already had! @chrisalddin, I think you're spot on with how the variously sized jets are used. @arathemis - it's hard to see how much bigger the original is to the 'next one' in photos and videos, I tried my best. Here's the original thread, which has a lot of good opinion in it (from people other than myself, I mean)!

    From Amazon,
2x of #41069 Disney Princess Treasure's Day at the Pool @£3.12 each.
parts! plane and simple. (and the pet, cute dogie!.)

it's also about the most i can afford right now.
could have ordered 5 as that the limit amazon have set, and would have cost £15.60 for all 5, but. than all my small change would have been tapped out to. :( i can get 1 more £8 set, maybe 2 more £5 set's and that's about it. (for now.)

Since the 12th and that last haul from the LEGO Store I haven't bought anything. That's almost 9 days.

I'm open to cosmetically damaged packaging so it isn't wasted, and not just for LEGO. like one time I got a case of Pepsi with torn cardboard, but the cans were fine

My #41105 audience MOC is an open ended project. Ordered some minidoll parts on BL. A few days ago, I bought 3 #10723 on clearance, which includes a minidoll without regular legs. seller had those, enough components for 9 more, a whole figure, and some bricks for my common shapes by color collection.

@chrisalddin I also got some 41069 for parts, Wegmans had 8 for $3.48 after tax. 3 pounds 12 pence is $3.88, an okay deal, is it better than exchange rate indicates?

Yeah, I was able to get Portal 2 Level Pack and Krusty Fun Pack for 99 cents at our local store.  I believe the 99cent only stores exist in s cali, nevada, and texas

I still need to pick up the portal pack just to get one. I wonder if regular old dollar tree and dollar stores here on ky might get some thing like that?

I picked up a #79004 Hobbit Barrel Escape last night for $15 NIB. Pretty excited about it as it's my first LoTR/Hobbit themed set. It might signal the beginning of a new line of spending...

@elspankdog Wow, I paid £14.99 for the Portal pack a couple of weeks ago and thought that was cheap considering how pricey it's been in the UK. I seriously cannot believe they can afford to let them go for such a price and it's surprising to see Fantastic Beasts there too.
  • elspankdogelspankdog Member Posts: 403
The Fantastic Beasts was from the Toys R Us bogo.  I also paid around $15 last year for the Portal and thought that was a deal.

Trying really hard not to buy EVERY set in the Lego Batman Movie series (after buying every Lego Movie set), but so far I've already got all the CMFs, 70905, 70906, 70909, and 70911.

The snowballing effect has already begun....

Picked up these guys for $8.70.. Going into 99 cent stores is like going into the Wild West! I felt like I stuck out like crazy but it was worth it for sure.

No good deals at nearby stores, so picked up some random smaller items:

Only missing Vacation Batman and Mime now from TLBM CMF's.

I have also finally started watching the SW Rebels series, and quite like it. (currently halfway through S2) I know the Kanan Jarrus minifig that comes with that magazine is not exclusive to that polybag, but couldn't resist picking it up anyway. Let's see whether I can resist getting all the Rebels sets.

I managed to snag #70909 during Amazon's $60 flash sale the other day, and secured the entire Batman CMF line in late December.

That said, after finishing my #75827 GBHQ expansion project over the holidays, but leaving #10243 Parisian Restaurant and a few modular scale MODs/MOCs unbuilt, I'm on a bit of a "happy-wife-happy-life" imposed hiatus for the time being.  Going to time a few things to take advantage of upcoming promotions: #31065 Park Street Townhouse + #60150 Pizza Van for the upcoming Bat-fig promo in February.

And then there's Assembly Square, hopefully for Double VIP in March...

    I bought #41053 for $12 and #41055 for $35.
I thought the parts looked too good to pass up at those prices, especially things like the carriage wheels and the horse.

Bought a few cases of Lego Dimensions.
Glad they didn't rip them open and just left them on the pallet.

But those eBay prices are getting shot down super hard.
This isn't the time to flip folks! lol

Just bust it open or give it away as a present!

Went out today to buy a new trash can for the kitchen...

From 99c store: Dimension sets. There were only 2 Homer left (grabbed them both) and lots of Bart, Bad Cop and the Chima guy below (grabbed four of each). I might try the store close to the office to see if they have different sets.

From TRU: 2 Mini Batmobile. Did not bother with the $30 purchase and paid $3.99 ea. I was going to grab more, but don't want to be "that guy", if there are any left next week, I might grab a couple more.

From Target: 2 Hot Rods. It finally showed up. Again, just 2 and maybe more next week if there are any left.

...yes, I also bought a trash can ;-)

Couldn't resist any longer and bought my first TLBM set.
Also managed to finally find Vacation Batman; now only missing Mime from this CMF series. Will need to create a Marketplace thread as my CMF bag feeling skills are, shall we say, poor to nonexistent...

Picked this up this week. Box was perfect when it left the Seller's location. Alas, wrapping it in brown paper? Not a solid plan for shipment. I negotiated a "healthy" discount.

Sure, wrapped in brown paper inside a nice, sturdy box rarely fails.

However, I get this sinking feeling that that's not what happened here...

I should probably feel worse about this since I'd not intended to do much Lego shopping this year, but since my main caveat was "half-price stuff late in the year", all I'm really doing is buying it early.

    *crickets*

ANYWAY. I'm so grateful for Brickset. Went on s@h because someone mentioned the Resistance Troop Transport was half-price, and sadly it's already gone (really wanted TFA Leia, and it's just a really nice ship), but then I saw the Avenjet Space Mission.

I've wanted that set ever since I ill-advisedly bought my first couple of Marvel sets last year - it's a great spaceship, and Captain Marvel is one of my favourites, but I really couldn't justify buying it unless it was half price, so this has been very lucky. Nice to get Thanos, too! :D

Aaaaaand the sale has also resolved the nagging issue of my needing to get hold of Moltar's Lava Smasher, Ultimate Beast Master and Ultimate Lavaria on the cheap. And that of where to get the Valentine set for a certain man in my life. :D At least I used my £10 worth of VIP points...
