Don't forget that Quaker find, what a steal at 3.28 ;P

@tmgm528 I find that generic oatmeal does not taste as good as Quaker...and trust me, taking on the challenge of eating oatmeal on a daily basis is hard enough as is.

Found #3061 Friends City Park Café  at a local resale shop for $2.97. Just 2 small cheap parts missing, and I still need to check on the stickers.

Did all the Construct a Zurgs have the "Special Edition" printing? I know I've got a couple floating around the dungeon somewhere but don't recall the special edition tag...
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,833

Don't know if they all have it, but mine does say special edition on the box

Just bought a complete but dusty #9465 from a Gumtree advert, that's all I'm telling.

Picked these two up today for £20. The truck is missing a door, but still a good price i think. Thoughts? Bargain or not?

That's 50% off RRP for the #8071 bucket truck, and looks like most of #42007 is there too. I'd call that a deal.

No boxes or instructions. But i thought they were worth yhd money just for the parts.

I think special edition used to be on sets that were exclusive to a specific store. Walmart perhaps? The landspeeder was the same.

They look like they smell a bit like a teenagers bedroom, couldn't tell you why.

Well, after combing through a bag of bricks I picked up for $10, I sorted out a complete #9463 (minus the figs), a complete #75016, a nearly complete #75035, a partial #8089, a very partial #5973, and an extremely partial #9525, plus a decent amount of additional pieces which obviously make up something else.

It felt like a good purchase!

@pricey73, do you work for the landfill and happened to grab this off the heap?

I'll have to implore my buddies who are landfill workers to keep their eyes open for me!

@Switchfoot55 I'm at a waste transfer station, the next stage is landfill. It wouldn't hurt to ask your mates.

@Switchfoot55 if we were to write a book about stuff we've found no one would believe it. People would think it was a work of fiction!

I'm waiting for a #6986 Mission Commander that will be sent this Saturday. Agreed on €65 exc. shipping. Only missing 2 small parts, but with book. Obviously it is used, but still a great price!
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
Found 3 at this price. Have to admit I will be using most of the parts to make War Machine versions of the Hulkbuster.

Pick up #70316 for $35. Mainly got it for Sparkks, and the Book of Monsters. A few of the other parts are for MOCs in progress, with many left to be sorted into my free stock.

Yes. It does. Would ordering it at 3:18 in the morning (just before your post here) be the reason you managed to find it in stock at that price!? :-)

I can. I got all the Star Wars sets in that bin a few posts above for nothing.
Some people don't care about making top dollar. They just want to declutter their house as quick as possible.

Stores just care about the manufacturer's cost to them. As long as they sell the product they don't care what eBay is selling it for.

@pricey73 You should write up something about what you all find. I would love to read something like that.

So the rest of you lucky bums in the UK and Europe have been enjoying your Rogue One sets since Dec 2016, but this Yankee couldn't wait to get his hands on some of those sets. A friend of mine is equally as anxious, and we decided to look into how much it would be to ship some over here on BrickLink.

I figured these sets in the USA would run me about $256 (MSRP + tax), and I bought them for $222 total, including shipping from Austria.

    Sometimes impatience pays off!

I nabbed a #79004 Barrel Escape Hobbit set last night for $15 NIB. The box looks like it just rolled off the production floor it's in such good shape.

Debating on when to open and build, or try to turn and sell. I'm such a sucker for LoTR and The Hobbit that it'll likely stick around for awhile.

got #70736 - Morro Dragon and #70738 - Destiny`s bounty at half price each, NISB. Also #76060, but that`s not such a big deal

Nice inexpensive finds at my favorite thrift shop. They had #70005 sealed for $35 in the "special items" section, so I passed on that one. Found a tub I think is #2332 with some regular LEGO mixed in for $6. Most of the LEGO is from #60018 Cement Mixer.

Then I spotted this LEGO storage stool for $5. Thought it was #2853832 at first glance, but the lid is different. Only reference I've been able to find was an eBay auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Imaginarium-Red-Blue-Storage-Stool-Pair-2012-Scarce-/302137618813?hash=item4658ce317d:g:YjwAAOSw0OBYKOVn

Ah, but not as good getting the Tower Bridge (complete) for $80 :P

#60121 for €8 today, marked down from €19,99, so I broke my rule of no more random City vehicles, because it looked cool. And the price was too good to leave it there in the store...

@datsunrobbie - Great haul! Very jealous of the promo Duplo 2x1.

I managed to get a complete #3840 in excellent condition for $3.13 at my local Goodwill (I've been going there for years – never found anything there except for some NISB DUPLO sets and some BIONICLE parts locked into $15 bags with random other toys). A minor caveat (not for me, but others would definitely be annoyed by this) was that the box was taped shut, which pretty much ruins it.

I finally got a head I've been dying to get for a few months now. Some member on Eurobricks ordered a new Robin head from the replacement service, and somehow got a head with an expression that isn't on any official head. Spent quite a pretty penny for this, but I'm preaching to the choir.

Picked up a 42040 fireplane for £30 & 7942 for £6. The fireplane was complete and looked as if someone had started it as some parts had stickers applied but the rest were still on the sheet. It looks really good next to the Ferrari F40!
