Before CMFs: A month or possibly two at most

    After CMFs: About a week?

It`s been 5 hours since my last purchase (NRG Green Dragon) from the local market.
The previous one was ordered on friday and received yesterday (quinjet city chase).

Wife`s jaw dropped when I arrived home with 20$ worth of groceries and 40$ worth of lego today.

    I`m helpless. :|

OK.. Last purchase was Sunday and today I received some free Lego and a Lego related item.
Technically not a purchase so it doesn't count.

    AllBrick - 2 days sober?

@arathemis I think my wife would be happy if I arrived home with "only" EUR 40 worth of Lego. There's shops I'm not allowed to visit without my wife's supervision; fortunately this does not (yet?) include toy stores.
Just tell her about about those crazy addicted people on Brickset and how you are very reasonable ;)

(great choice on the NRG Green Dragon BTW!)

Oh man, if we're going by that, (checks Target purchase history—not Amazon anymore since they started charging sales tax in my state):

Hi, my name is TyresOFlaherty and it has been 5 days since my last Lego purchase.

    (But it was 70909 Batcave Break-In for $30 off...how could I NOT?!?)

The sad thing is that I am that crazy addicted person to the wife of a friend of mine; but that's good for him, because every time he wants to get a set, he says "Hey, at least I'm not as bad as TyresOFlaherty!*"

(*name changed to protect the innocent. Or in this case, me.)

Since coming out of my dark ages last February, I have gone a few weeks at a time without making a purchase. This January has been a problem, however (that'll get its own post at some point).

I didn't buy any LEGO today, but I did give a Best Offer on a set on Ebay. I guess if he doesn't reply, it will be one day and counting.

I think a week at most, normally a mag or discounted set does it for me.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to be REALLY restrictive in the next half year or so, in less than a day after receiving my January salary I've already splashed almost 70% of it, on a combination of credit card bill (mostly lego), clothes, my trip to Blockcon Sheffield, and a few things here or there. :(

Wow. How Bricknation doesn't get robbed is beyond me. That's a hold up waiting to happen!

    Now, I wouldn't do that.
It's not worth the plane ticket nor postage or baggage penalties. ;p

^Just don't forget to shut your bed cover or it'll be raining sets your whole way home.

I think I had a dream like that once upon a time...

Thanks for the support guys....I`ll definitely show the @bricknation `s car to my wife.

I needed that photo more than ever...as today was browsing around some local online shops, and what do I see? A bunch of sets at 50%off. So now Destiny`s  Bounty, Morro Dragon and #76050 are on their way to me. As I said...Helpless.
At least I have a photo of a "worse" guy to show to my wife. :D

I`ll let my wife know....It`s either Lego hoarding or bombs/fireworks hoarding. I think she`ll start to see things my way. (Thanks for the photo)

Do you have to pay a plastic bag tax where you are? That's about a whole £1 worth of bags there!

It's 10-15 cents in California per plastic (read: biodegradable, re-usable) bag.

I've been trained to bring a few cloth bags with me (and stocked in my car), as well as tuck a plastic bag in my jacket or cargo pant/short pocket just in case.

    Anything for the environment.

Says the guy who buys plastic bricks. smdh

Dark Ages: 20 years...Assuming #6705 was my last set in 1994 (technically bought by my parents when I was 9)...not counting #4128 (for Christmas of a year I do not recall)...and finally buying #60018 in early 2014 since I worked at a ready-mix concrete company and at that time the set was 50% off at Target (I fully regret not getting the other five or seven that were available!!!).

Lately: About a week...As soon as I realize I need to stop spending money (especially during Christmas) and paying bills I stop, but then I go to Walmart and look at the Clearance section and it's over, which might be very often since I try to go visit most Walmart and Target stores within 30 minutes of my house at least twice a month or if possible once a week to check for items on sale and clearance.

Oooooh, I like that. "0 days since last mini-Dark Ages" sounds better than "0 days since I last caved in and had to feed my Lego addiction"!

Sadly my resolve crumbled when some of the Nexo Knights sets my son wants for his birthday touched the 30% off mark on Amazon... Oh well, that really is it until the GoTG sets are out, honest :)

I was able to last 5 days from getting my last Batman CMF, to a discounted Maze showing up on Amazon. After Bricks and Pieces comes back online I'm hoping to be done for awhile.

I was reading this thread feeling smug and proud of my restraint and then the Joker Lowrider went 30% off and I caved.

11 days since last purchase, but it's definitely not my longest. unless the batman cmfs show up in stores soon, I could last until the 2 free batmen promo on [email protected]

Free posters and a few loose bits chucked into a charity shop purchase for free also.

    7 days sober on Sunday.

@Yodalicious - the title states Lego-related. :-) I'm not scott-free either as I bought a Really Useful Box two weeks ago, and I just know it's going to end up with Lego or instructions in it.

I did really well. Made it ten whole days from my last purchase. Promised myself I'd hold off on anything as January is expensive with both my 40+ year old VWs due services and MOTs, both escaped without major bills so celebrated with a BL cruise and some SW polybags. Whoops

My wife has joked that we need a sign similar to the one above - "This house has been Lego purchase free for X days". The value of x would rarely be in double figures.

I start every month with a firm belief that this will be the one where I'm dry, just for 30 days, but then someone posts another bargain in the Shopping UK section and I'm back off to the waggon... :)

Just had an Akro-Mills organizer delivered today.  And Lego-trade items as well.

Does 'rescuing' an incomplete set from eBay count?

I take them in, restore their missing parts and then set them free in the wild, or put them on display.

Surely, that can't count as a purchase!?!  Despite paying money.  And then buying the missing parts on Bricklink... with money.
If you're rescuing sets, then I must run a set hospital...

It's been an hour since my last LEGO purchase. Picked up #70902 for my birthday. That's doesn't count right?
  • flordflord Member Posts: 797
Reset the counter to zero. After 3 days since my last post, my will power evaporated when a discounted T-Rex Tracker (last one I need for the theme), Series 13 CMFs (still missing 3), and the Speed Champions #75899 LaFerrari all showed up.

Being an AFOL and having OCD is a terrible, terrible mix.

9 days sober today, payday is Friday though.

I have made some trades on here and I will be using money to post the items, I have a feeling that is a lego related purchase.

I bought a few TLBM polybags yesterday, so I figured I was ok for a little but....but then I just got notification that the Tartan Batman fig showed up in my mail today (part of that Amazon preorder)....

Time to reset that counter. It has been 0 days since my last Lego purchase.
