^Yup, a spare clam shell was provided.

The black 2x2 was added to simply lift the base of the lamp post above the pavement level. It makes sense to me.

Dropped by my local LEGO store fifteen minutes before closing to take advantage of the Nexo Knights promo, but since an employee was putting out a fresh box of Batman minifigs, I figured "Why not?" Got fourteen out of twenty then it was times up, and no doubles too. They even threw in a bat signal polybag along with that mini batwing. Much win.

Anyone else time themselves when feeling for blind bags like a crazy person? Lol

Thinking about buying some more TLBM CMFs... Assuming I can get them at €2.50 each (RRP is €3.99), how many should I get?

Starting to think about how best to pack up my collection before we put the house on the market this spring. My wife seems to thinks having a bunch of sets sitting out may not be a strong selling point.

Depends on if you're looking to find an AFOL buyer...

I suppose I don't want to give the impression that sets come with the house :D

Actually, packing it all up is pretty much a necessity. I don't want to come home after a showing to find figs have wandered off. I've at least been able to convince her that the LEGO should not go in the off-site storage unit we plan to rent.

I was in the Gurnee Mills and stopped by their Lego store hopping to get some more LBM minifigs and score they had a ton so I got the last 4. They also gave me to the LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack (5004930) polybag after I asked if they had any without any issues! That made my day

@Pumpkin_3CK5 I feel weird too...but the more you do it, the easier it becomes. I have only done it at Walmart and Target, so that might be why I don't mind anymore. After all, we are gonna buy the items.

That's really great @catwrangler! I know you'll really enjoy it! Not that I've been to one myself, but y'know... Brick Live!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been to Brick Fest Live, should I get the VIP or the normal admission. I don't want to spend too much, as I want to get some souvenirs like @catwrangler. This is the first time it's in my city, so I'm excited!

P.S. Do you wanna know who the best master builder is? Look at the second word. ;D

I meant timing yourself as in quickly finding the minifigs without getting doubles then telling yourself ya got mad skillz lol!

@TheBigLegoski I figured I'd need to find an industrial supplier, like Sunuku for cheap bubblemailers in bulk, but I don't know of an equivalent for tiny gripseal bags.
Yes, ziploc is a brand name, and I avoid using it sometimes, but it's sort of a genericized trademark like bandaid.

Had to sell two of my favorite sets this week- 10030 and 10179- which was quite sad. However, I was able to find the silver lining... thanks to selling them I had a free table to use for the one project I've decided to keep and complete.

Can I ask where they can be bought at that price in Ireland? Apologies if it's not something you want to divulge.

Happy with the Classic Batcave and Ninjago X-cave that I built yesterday.

Even happier to have £48 Amazon UK gift card from TCB, due to TRU and Argos christmas promotions.
Now I have to decide what to buy.......

I finished building #75156 Krennic's shuttle. I love the Krennic minifig; he looks mean, just like the chap from the movie :-)

I substituted the two rare red flick-fire missiles with grey ones (you can't see them anyway, they're hidden inside the middle "wing" (whatever you call it). I also replaced the two 3L yellow Technic axles with grey as they are also hidden.

I am left wondering if the designer used those more unusual colours on purpose to give us something new for our parts bin?

Another night of no building. Just hunting and figuring out!

I never got round to buying #75084 when it was first out, but with my SW:Rebels collection growing I decided I wanted it. I foolishly didn't get the set when I saw it in a little out of the way toy shop for £50 during the summer. Now I seem to be regularly missing out on eBay for them, last one escaped me for £42! There was one doing the rounds BIN for £70 but with bids reaching only £26 (it had been opened and built) it failed to reach reserve, was relisted and then pulled at just £10 for because of errors.

BL has a few in Europe for around £50 plus postage which will likely kill it for me. So back to stalking eBay for the elusive "opened and built, might have lost a couple of bits bargain" If any Bricksetters have the above lets talk!

NB: can @drdavewatford or @huw confirm? I suppose it doesn't really matter, but I like to be precise!

put away a few models to make room to display/play with others.

I disassemble them enough to fit in a gripseal bag, and label that. i dust them with a vacuum cleaner but can't run that too late. so maybe this will be a weekend project.

Day three off sick with a stinking cold and slight touch of man flu. MrsB has a fully fledged chest infection too so we are a right snotty pair just now. Nothing built but I do now have a load of ideas for my January build competition entry.

    Thanks for the tip @jootog!

$5 Jyn Ersos. Only 3 away from completing a 2nd set of Batman CMFs (have 2 sets is very important I've realized as my oldest son continues to enjoy LEGO more and more). Added a 2nd Batcave by price matching Amazon at Target and plan to combine the 2 starting tonight.

    A good day so far.

Yeah, I'm going to wait for prices to come down/hope Argos do their "spend £50, get £5" deal again - I need some stuff for the house and could justify using the voucher on Lego.

It's often worth it to wait for sales on new sets, but especially Nexo Knights and Friends if past experience with those themes continues to apply.

dusting all those little pieces wouldn't work with a vacuum

    -

I try to sort through lots of recyclables such as LEGO packaging the night before garbage day but generally don't do much more than usual, let's see if this time is any different.

^ I had a friend who decided that trying to vacuum or dust was a waste of time, took a deep breath and blasted the model on her shelf, and all the loose pieces flew out in a giant cloud and rolled away, spent an hour finding them all, and there was still just as much dust as before!

  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,352
Yeah, blowing instead of sucking might not work. I dust with a vacuum duster attachment. the main problem besides losing small pieces is areas the nozzle can't fit in. some of that is exposed when disassembling for storage. I'm being careful to put away clean.

no more recycling LEGO packaging this week. we got a new fridge and the packing from that took up most of the space that was left in the bin.

Because I have run a couple of shows at my school (and invited the local radio station to come along so they knew of me) and because I'm based in Lincolnshire close to the home of the Red Arrows but mostly because the word 'no' is not one I'm familiar with, I found myself discussing LEGO and critiquing both the Red Arrows LEGO Ideas submission and the presenter's effort to build a plane on regional radio yesterday morning.

To overcome the resulting trauma I have today built #41130
