    Cuuuute!

It was only a matter of time before this arrived.

Nice design for the surfboard, looks like stickers though :(.

I have to get one before the price gets silly like the mini camper.

^yeah I was initially excited but looking closer decided it doesn't really fit my city scale or look that much like the car it is supposed to. I will probably order when it is available to fill my trade fodder coffer though.

The back looks awkward and forced.

You are not alone. It doesn't have nearly the same amount of charm or likeness as the mini bus poly.

Nope, not at all. It's borderline hideous (in my opinion).

It could be better I guess, but it is light years better than the mini Cooper IMO. A bit stunning for me to see 'basic' parts like the trans 2x2 slopes being in such a model
I do not think the surfboard has stickers, but the License plate and VW emblem appear to be unfortunately.

Gotta agree about using 2 2x2 trans slopes.

This windscreen would have been better....

In 1957 TLG produced this 1:40 scale (about the same size as this LEGO model) VW Beetle for VW Showrooms, as well as selling them as LEGO toys only in Denmark, Norway and Iceland.  These VWs are very rare and highly valued (over $500 each), and came in 8 colors....

It's like they just don't care.

I get the feeling Lego staff spend too much time on the tele and not enought building sets...

But Italy does not have an official LEGO Store, right ? Is it in one of those certified mono-brand stores ?

I called a store and they said it was only a promotion in Japan right now and that they don't usually get those promotions until several months after. I don't know how accurate that is. I called an official LEGO store.

There's a Year of the Rooster sign in the original in-store pic.

Was it because it was taken in Asia? Or are the Year of the Rooster sets being sold worldwide now?

The original post seems to be from Hong Kong. Currently the free Rooster promo is available in Asian countries only and not for sale, Asia or otherwise.

And Leicester Square with > £125 spend. At least, that's what I've read on here, I've not been to find out for myself.

Is this about in the UK yet? My wife is near Leicester Square tomorrow and I'm after a Ferris Wheel. She won't mind lugging it around all day surely?

I called the CS, they confirmed £125 can get a 40234 until stock last. But the guy suggested: please call the store, confirm the stock before you queuing:)
