Does anybody has #66547? The "Extra Awesome" edition from TRU. Is it really worth it?

The regular edition, #70322, it's 25% off on Amazon and I might pull the trigger on it.
  • Lego_StarLego_Star Member Posts: 2,144
^ I have looked for it (#66547) in the UK, not exhaustively but I don't think it's for sale here.
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
#66547 is not on sale here either; that's why I'm wondering if the extra stuff is "cool enough" to pay full price. For example, if it's a poster and a sticker sheet, then no :-)
  • Lego_StarLego_Star Member Posts: 2,144
If anyone has #66547 could you please take a good quality image of the back of the box and post it on here? The front of box image in the database says more info about the "extra awesome" on the back of the box.

^^ I didn't mean at a discount, I meant not available to buy at all. :o)

Just the additional scannable shield catching my attention. I'm with you on the poster and sticker sheet. I've probably got the sticker sheet, and the poster too, come to think of it. I was definitely given those at different times in a brand store during 2016.

According to the Brickset listing it said that:
Contains the regular set plus NEXO Knights poster, a scannable shield for egg power, two sticker pages, a booklet about NEXO Knights LEGO sets and the app and a voucher for LEGOLand.

So I would say no, but I know Target has it on sale as well.

Any other Halloween Themed Nexo Shields other than that Pumpkin one in Clay's Falcon Fighter? I decided to unwind after work and took my time looking through the bags of shields to get that blacksmith looking sign and two of the ones with bats flying around then I noticed the pumpkin shield.

Haha, at first glance I thought meat patties.  Why are we talking about hamburgers and NK!? Perhaps an Axl thread.

What about adding in craisins/cranberries or use redvelvet cake mix as a base?  That would really enrich the color, though I have no idea if it would work.

In the book of monsters we learn that General Magmar likes to bake Magma Chip Cookies (there is a recipe but it only says: flour and magma chips). My son wanted to make them so I used my tried and tested Chocolate chip recipe (feel free to PM if you don't have one ;) ) and added some red colouring.

Well, I say some, quite a lot, cause they had to be red and not pink! We had a lot of fun and he was really proud of them. They don't look as red in the picture as they do in real life, hence I added one crumbled up version (yummy on ice-cream) in a blue pot, where you see the colour better. I guess you could add some icing to mimic actual streaming lava, but we were jumming them down straight from the oven, so didn't get a chance to do that :)

Might be a fun idea for people who like to bake with their kids - especially since it's cold in this part of the world ATM, always god to have the oven on.
Love the idea of cooking Lego-related treats for your kids!

For me "magma chip cookies" gives me the impression of something a little spicy. So I might go a different direction with that sort of prompt, like chocolate-flavored cookie dough with cinnamon imperials mixed in for flavor. As a bonus, that might not turn out quite so pink, since the cinnamon imperials would retain more of their red color while the chocolate cookies would end up that nice dark brown color that a lot of the vehicles in Nexo Knights (including General Magmar's) use.

I was thinking red smarties or red sweeties. Dried strawberry bits might be good too.

  • catwranglercatwrangler Member Posts: 1,895
You could try icing biscuits Jestro-style with red and purple halves, either using food colouring or ready-to-roll icing!
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
Love all these suggestions! Red velvet cake mix is something we don't have in Belgium, or cinnamon imperials (that skimlink was handy because I never heard of it before). Cranberries are definitly a good idea, and indeed icing would be good - might make a bigger batch next week and keep some for decorating and not eating straigh away ;)

Not sure if my son is going to like the cranberries, but this might be a way to get him to like it :) I used Wilton's Christmas red food colouring and maybe I should have even added more, but adding cranberry cordial (or ribena) might work better...

I do like themed food, used to make hobbit food to watch the trilogy or Italian buffet while we did a Godfather marathon :)

I'm surprised to see that the Black Knight Mech is retiring soon, unless it's just an error. It hasn't even been a year.

I wonder if the Fortrex can dock with it. It looks like it has a ton of minifigs.

I finally managed to get all of the 2016 sets, (ok missing the Black Knight Mech still, but almost all of them), so it was time to let the Knights duke it out with Jestro and his forces of evil, attacking his volcano lair in full force, see the picture below.

You can see the King fighting bravely to free his Queen from the clutches of Infernox. Let's hope he succeeds! ;-)

In the final picture you'll the battle still rages on, and it could go either way, General Magmar is besieging the Fortrex while Axl is pummeling the Beast Master and his Chariot from his Tower Carrier. Aaron and Clay make a run for the volcano lair, but Aaron must first try to get past Jestro and his mobile, not an easy task, leaving Clay and a lone Knight on their own to wreak havoc on the lair...

    How will this end???

Hopefully Macy and Lance can push through their enemies to aid their fellow Knights and bring Jestro down. But as always when the tension rises, it time for the cliffhanger... ;-)

the new nexo vehicles really don't look very memorable, they had better color schemes last year.
I was waiting for the colossus, but meh... looks silly.
on the other hand the heligoyle is better than expected.
the castle... hard to say if it is worth 140€ so far.

Season Two was pretty weak.  Jestro's Lair and the Black knight were the only interesting items.

Gotta disagree. Aaron's Aero Blaster is a great set that functions as a working crossbow and is exceptionally swooshable. Axl's Tower Carrier is an incredible vehicle that as far as I'm concerned might be the best at blending the Space and Castle influences of the Nexo Knights theme (plus it features Burnzie, who is pretty cool). Magmar's Siege Machine surprised me with how much I enjoyed it—it's certainly the best villain vehicle of year one, and the transformation function is extremely dynamic (plus it includes not one but two higher-ranking monsters).

To be honest the Black Knight Mech was one of my LEAST favorite sets of wave 2, since it is a great deal clunkier, less posable, and less attractive than the cheaper King's Mech. The inclusion of Whiparella, a new version of Robin, and a sort of evil counterpart to the hover-horses is nice but ultimately it excited me a lot less than most of the other sets of that wave.

Opinions... I'm am simply not a fan of vehicles emphasized over structures.  But that's what sells to kids.  Swooshable is for them, static displays is for me.

May we forever agree to disagree ;)

I think a lot of spacers would disagree about swooshability only being for kids. ;)

But I understand what you mean if you're coming at it from a structural perspective. I love a vehicle as much as anyone but if there's one complaint I have about Nexo Knights as a whole it's that there are far too few structure-based sets (or for that matter, even minor scenery or setpieces in vehicle-based sets). The TV series is full of great settlements for the knights to protect, from villages like Waterton to cities like Knightonia and Auremville, and plenty of plot-relevant structures that would make great sets like the Knights Academy or the Knightonia Arena/Colosseum. At least we're finally getting a Knightonia Castle set this year...

I wasn't a fan of the theme when it came out and we only follow the story with the books/game, not the episodes but my son loves it.

I think they are much sturdier than ninjago where you always have pieces breaking off or where you just can't move the set at all without it falling apart (I'm looking at you Samurai X Chaos).

Also really love the villains colour-scheme, but not sure about these purple ones that are cunning or now.

I'm pretty sure Lego just wanted to give everyone their own vehicles between season one and two. Not sure about season 3, but with the great creature/villain design Idegaf haha. Maybe if the series continues to grow strong?

I do appreciate a theme where each character gets some sort of signature vehicle. Part of me hopes that some of those can be recreated as mini-models if Nexo Knights ever gets added to Lego Dimensions...

@Lyichir Be cool if they have exclusive armor/torso print to go along with it like they did with Chima.

Also forgot to add to my previous post "Maybe if the series continues to go strong, we'll get more buildings, etc?"
