now it like a ghost town for lego deals!
@stlux - Just want to explicitly state that I love that you're so committed to this hobby and have such a great collection which you share with us on here - I greatly value your contributions. I know I put a smiley after my last couple of posts but I think it's worth giving credit where it is due! :-)
I have not bought anything recently as the post-Christmas sales have been mainly on Lego that I already have, and it's hard to justify a 2017 Marvel set when it's sat next to three 2016 sets which are on offer, that I already have and bought at full price.
We'll see what 2017 brings! I'm a patient man. Sometimes.
As for what I've been buying, got my grubby little mits on #75172 from Toys'R'Us to use up my £20 voucher.
This has been a most welcome addition to the collection and am really looking forward to building it, so much so that it has been put on the top of the 'to build' pile and if time allows, it might even get built before the christmas sets get taken down. :)
No spectacular sets here. But I'm personally stoked about the Creator Townhouse, the Dragster Transporter, T-16 and AT-DP.
Here's my Christmas gifts:
Now I need to decide to keep or open 60008 and 3648!
Picked this up on a whim today. I like whims. Breaking precedent and building it now during the Ohio State game. I have yet to see Rogue One, but this ship makes me think of the kind of thing Batman would fly if he were in the Star Wars Universe. I'm considering getting the pieces to do an all black one and a BaTIE Pilot. WOOT.
"'We've spent some time over the past few years running tests in China, and we had an
idea that it would prove challenging with requests for different colors and designs and that it would be a different way of playing. But we learned that a boy and girl in China are like boys and girls in the rest of the world. They love the product, and there's no need to change it to achieve a more eastern aesthetic,' says (LEGO City design director) Ricco Krog, pointing out that in the US, police cars are often black and white. But if you ask American children what color their police cars are, they are most likely to say white and blue."
LEGO did experiment with black and white police cars and stations in the World City theme as well as the early days of the City theme, but evidently the blue and white color schemes have been much more popular and enduring around the world.
Just got this today with my Christmas money and gift cards. Can't wait to start building :)
One was for minidoll parts, several legs and a few heads, to make full figures with my spares. The store also had a cheap S16 Rogue minifig, which I'm army building with.
One was mainly for minidoll seats (part 93095, 1x2x1 panel with center divider), for various Friends projects. The seller had a large quantity cheap. I also got 2 green 1x2 tiles for my soccer field, and some parts for my chess set - white and blue round 2x2 for bishops, white 2x2 inverted corner slope (part 3676) for the castles (should look better than regular inverted 2x2's).
Yeah, other brands don't seem so bad for stuff TLG doesn't do.
I got that for $16.24 shipped off BrickLink a few months ago, so $15 isn't bad. I'm surprised you found a set that old in store. Less popular retired sets can be had for below MSRP but not the kind of discounts often seen on current sets. It, #3932, and #3939 go with Pop Star.
@blogzilly tell us how you really feel about TRU jacking up retail price. :P
I do count VIP points as a discount but I don't want to double dip mentally because it also feels like a discount when I accumulate them. Gift card spednign I could like regular money.
I am a vulgar man, but I assure you, my LEGO is not. ;P
#70736 was bought to add the Morro Dragon to my small collection of dragons, and have a worthy adversary for my #70734 Master Wu Dragon and #70593 Green NRG Dragon.
#31026 Bike Shop & Cafe I thought I had missed, so was happy to see they had 1 on the shelf that looked like it had been recovered from a forgotten corner of their warehouse.
I already have the 3 polybags pictured, however I picked up some more to have some spare ones for trading or stocking fillers :)
And some cool polybags :)
From the LEGO Store:
- #70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase (cat fight! cat-bat fight! bat-cat fight! Robin, get out of the way!)
- #31058 Mighty Dinosaur (love me some dino! will wait for the mandatory 20% off to get two more copies)
- #70372 Nexo Powers Pack (was 2c low to get the mini batwing promo)
- #30524 The Mini Batwing (my 2nd mini one)
Also, as you can see below, got The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack. The store did not have the materials for "the game" so she was asking people batman trivia (I think only to people that asked for it). The question I got was: "What is the real name of the Batgirl with the red hair?"
From TRU:
- #30546 Krypto Saves the Day (x2)
- #5004281 Angry Kitty Key Light ($5.98)
(Please, excuse the mess)
I made my first purchases of the year as well today... Popped up to the Stratford LEGO Store during my lunch break and grabbed two 2017 calendars, #60150 Pizza Van and my first Architecture set, #21034 London.
If I extrapolate my current buying (2 sets in 4 days), I'll have another 182.5 sets by the end of 2017! I'll see how close to a total of 492 I get. ;-)
Got this in my mailbox, no rain issues. Now THIS is, to me, the perfect BrickLink order. Packing Slip, lots of baggies separating like colors, I LOVE it!
the 3 set's was,
#7965 Millennium Falcon,
#9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor,
and
#70705 Bug Obliterator,
got them from amazon. about 18 months before the end of my dark age.
#70705 turned up in a right state. the other 2 in the same box was ok but #70705 box had water damage not as bad as that x-wing box it was still sealed. as luck turned out for me it was also one of the set's that has the manual in a bag, with the stickers as well. when the box was dry again it was miss-shaped.
that one there. that x-wing box. is the same size. box as the #70705, but i think #70705 was a little bit deeper.
however that x-wing box is a right off. no use to anyone.
on a side note. looking back at how i placed the stickers on my Millennium Falcon, i can not help but feel unhappy with it. it look like a 7 year old did it. :(
.....
Just a theory.
Not sure yet about the USPS dude or gal here. It's the same zip code. But so far I've seen one dude a few times and a girl the rest. The dude is kinda gruff, the gal loves me. I'm friendly with her too since she tries to be friendly back. I'm hoping she ends up being permanent.
Got a Slave 1 and U-Wing today from said USPS that I'm returning to Amazon. I ordered separately so that this would NOT happen. What did they do? Even though I ordered them a day apart? Shipped them in the same fuggin box and they compressed and scratched each other. Now they have to pay for two separate shipments back because it was two different orders.
Amazon, you schmucky schmuckertons...you tried to save a buck at the expense of my LEGO. Now it's gonna cost you more. Who's laughing now? WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!?!?!
Um...
Still buying. Here's some stuff that came with no dents or water! WOOHOO! The Dimensions set was in a box, I've already prepped it for play.
I don't keep boxes so I'm OK with damage on a complete set but that's ridiculous.
I also built various SW but not x-wing. KFOL me didn't get #7140 / # 7142 because even $30 was expensive then (did so much stuff like that). Now I might get #75149 (on sale at Target.com for $54.99 and I could sell the figs). Like how I didn't have big castle models but got #41180
As a BL seller I don't use packing slips. I look at the order page when sorting, and write the order number to help the buyer keep track. I get a lot of small orders, relatively easy to handle and hard to fit a regular sheet of paper in the envelope. Sometimes I'm near a weight threshhold. Even my small bags are relatively large so I don't sort so precisely, but larger orders are generally logically split between multiple bags and labeled. I hadn't thought of putting little bags in a large bag for shipment, worth considering.
#75059 Sandcrawler™ for £239.99 (used £10 from my VIP card, normal Price is £249.99)
853520 Aaron Key Chain for £2.79 (on offer RRP £3.99)
30378 Shrunken Headquarters (free with any Nexo Knights Item.) "yes any item with Nexo Knights in it's name"
this was my last shot at getting Sandcrawler.
but i do HATE it when no auto invoice e-mail is Sent out.
*Edit*
scrap that comment about auto invoice e-mail's (it's just slow as hell)
hehehe... Spent 200 Vip Points. and got 242 Vip Points back...
in a way you can say i used the vip point i got with the buy.
Thats the one that got me.
And it's cool you don't send a packing slip I just love it. Any reference to the order, even a number written on the envelope, is righteous melons.
Oh and what's your store? Maybe I can support the cause...
(btw... what "is righteous melons" !?! )
with my mum's help.
Order placed for the last one John Lewis had in stock.
1x #10251 Brick Bank for £110.00. (RRP on [email protected] (as of the 3rd Jan 2017) is £129.99) saved £20. witch is way more then if i got it from lego with 2x VIP.
2x vip would get you 259 points works out at about £13, so i saved about £7 if it was 2x vip. as right now it not 2x vip on [email protected] i would only get 129 points so about £6.50 and there for saved £13.50, Go Me! :)
btw, bookmarking an out of stock page on a website and looking as it when ever you remember to, can pay off big time. this was, as i said before, the last one, and it's been showing as out of stock for 2 days. my guess some one card bounced. sad for them. Grate for me. :)
