  There have been many RC LEGO cars over the years- none are cheap anymore. May I advise the RC vehicle coming out in 2017?

  I don't think there are any available right now from LEGO, there is one coming up next year:
  #42065 RC Tracked Racer
  
  and there are a few recent retired sets:
  #9398 4x4 Crawler
  #41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition
  
  There are a few more, retired a while back like:
  #8366 Supersonic RC
  #5600 Radio Control Racer
  #5699 Radio Control Racer
  #8475 RC Race Buggy
  #8376 Hot Flame RC Car
  #8675 Outdoor Challenger

  I don't normally recommend clone brands, but maybe they are asking for the RC cars made by UniBlocks? 
  
  We sell those in the store where I work. When we got them in for the first time I opened one so I could check how bad the bricks were. To my surprise, the bricks were actually pretty good, the clutch power was solid, and the colors were consistent.
  
  The RC part works well, but the range isn't terribly far. It's still good enough for kids.
  
  They also remind me of the juniors sets in that you get a solid car chassis that you build onto so when it crashes it doesn't completely break in half. 
  
  Again, I don't normally recommend clones, but those kits aren't too bad.

  Thank you all so much for the info- we were confused because of the lack of current sets. I suspect the old sets will be too expensive at after market prices, but may direct to a clone brand just this once.

  I have set 5600 sat under my bed in its box with instructions. Believe its 100%. Not sure how much they are worth as sont come up very often.

  While not cars, here are two more R/C sets that Lego has produced.
  
  1. #42030 Volvo Wheeled Loader. It just retired a few months ago at a list price was $250.00. Here a link where you can get one used for $180.00 which I'd consider a pretty good deal:

  Maybe they meant my car? It's completely LEGO controlled. It seems to only go to places where you can buy LEGO.
